One of your most helpful videos to-date. Percy is so good in the bath, compared to my two Papillons. I'll have to give our next puppy more bathes to get her trained better. I have a litter of puppies coming soon, and that's an important thing to do before they go to their forever homes.
Very nice video! But I have had many dogs,and I have found that a hose attachment is quicker and more thorough than anything else to rinse your pup!

My Pap & French Bulldog play, fake chew at each other all the time & the Papillons ear plume will get tiny little knots, that I have to snip out. I wonder if a special rinse would help ?

Wet papillons are the best
My mom's Papillon Beau is a gorgeous 1 year old boy but his previous owner brushed him super hard and now he's traumatized and absolutely hates being manhandled and as soon as he sees a brush or comb he will growl and even bite if you don't let him say no. He's okay with baths but he currents gets mats from the difficulty in brushing him. I gave my mom a grooming kit for Christmas that's helping a lot, but she literally has to do it over here so I can hold him still. X.X I've been watching grooming vids to try and get a better idea on tips and tricks.
I'm a 70 year old widow and I got a papillon in January, she was being re homed and I fell in love with her. She is now 11 months old and shedding her baby fur. Will she ever stop shedding so much? All my other dogs were pitskys. What kind of flea treatment do you use? I've been making my own with essential oils, which hazel and liquid coconut oil. This seems to work well but I have to spay her often and I don't want to use any of harsh chemicals and pesticides. I also cook all her food myself adding omega 3 and salmon oil. Thank you for nice video! I have a question about conditioner - do you use it? I have read it very hard to groom a papillon - bath every week with several different shampoos and conditioners, oil and spray for combing🙈 I see its not si hard to groom this dog in your video) How often do you bath and comb Percy? And is there any bad smell if you don’t do bath after potty time? Wish you well❤

Rascal is so excited about Percy's calendar ! I told him to that Percy's mom may not have the time make calendar. I even heard Rascal cleaning one of the "walls"in his crate! LOL I sure do love my pappy Rascal.
Aside from grooming, brushing your dogs teeth is the most important for long term health; my Papillon had supper clean and white teeth brushing with coconut oil.

i usually cut my dogs belly hair too! they have such long belly hair hahahah he’s a boy so he’s always peeing on himself accidentally! so i make sure to trim it up, looking at videos to see if anyone else does

How long did it take you to get Percy that calm with brushing and bathing?
My Papillon is calm but much more wiggly...he is only a few months old.
Percy loves to be brushed! As far as not being wiggly, that comes with training.
I have a rescue Papy named Samantha and when I got her she was 4 years old and everything about being in a house and living with a human was new. It took me about 4 months to get her to not hide from me and everything went easier after that, mostly because this breed is so smart and she picks things up after one or two attempts. Even things she doesn't particularly like.
We have two Papillon puppies, 4 mos old. One weighs 8 pounds, the other one is four pounds. How much does Percy weigh as an adult Papillon?
Percy weighs 5 pounds 6 ounces . He is fully grown.

Im watching this and omg percy is small. My boy rock is twice the size of a regular papillon. he is pure breed with a certificat. He even won best pup in competitions. We got him last october at 6 years old and that boy is heafty! He isnt over weight at all, just a really really large papillon. Came here too gather more intel on other papillon owners trimming habits. i trimmed him yesterday. short paws, short butt and no lower stomach hair. most for sanitary reasons all of them (he sometimes stands with one of his front paws back when peeing, and basicly pees on himself.) But he looks so darn funny with that much floof and skinny legs. my issue is he refuses to stand. no matter what we do, he will not stand. so it hasnt been easy. But i see that my dog has like 3x 4x the amount of hair yours does so it wasnt that helpful sadly. ill just keep on doing what im doing i guess

Our papillon keeps biting his skin and vets domt find anything wrong, could it be he wasnt rinsed well or because hese gone to long without a bath?
JenniFoFenni Hicks that is very well possible. Try giving her another bath, but be extra sure to get all the soap out and see if that helps?
In my bath I have a flex shower hose and when I get done taking my shower I take Sammy in with me and give her a shower. She didn't care for it at first but now she really likes the warm water and the amount of water really gets all the soap out.
What are some healthy treats papillons like?

Papillons do shed but they are very light.

Wow. My papillon isn’t cooperative at all! Even the sight of a brush and she will snarl and bite at you.
I have been a "Percy fan" for a long time, so hopefully, you won't take my suggestion the wrong way.
He would look so much better if you trimmed back those long black hairs hanging from his ears. If that area grew more densely, it would look a lot better. Obviously, the hair there grows too sparse to be left that long.
Percy is a You Tube super star. He should look like a super star.
