Yamaha Tilt Trim Repair. Trim unit full of air and motor stuck out of the water. How to deal with air lock in a stuck tilt trim unit and diagnose trim unit issues.
This video helped me fix mine. I was super frustrated. Couldn’t get anything to work and then I saw him close his manual valve. I was like REALLY? I knew immediately what I had done.
Thanks so much I followed your steps and it worked very well now it seems to go up and down but can I rely on that for the rest of the summer. I put in some transmission sealer to try to seal the leak not sure if this is a long-term fix or only a short time ?
I can’t get the release screw out. I keep stripping it worse. PB blaster overnight, still can’t budge. I tried connecting leads to a battery also but no luck. Any ideas before I drill the screw head? Thanks
Hi Chris, if it at all possible I would leave the manual release alone and try to do the rest of the repair/ re-seal, close it up and test. If it is critically necessary to let out the manual release it would attempt one last time with an old school impact driver and hammer. This will either work or it will shear the tabs the rest of the way off, and then at least you have a better surface for drilling
I have a 2009 90hp TLR the casting part number is 711-0534-6D8-01 the engine serial # 61PL-1030866 I need a complete unit. Thank you! Where can I find a used assembly? My pump is bad.

For new boater and backyard mechanic this is great information.
This is a GREAT, and useful video. Thanks for posting. Time to get to work. And thanks, too, for the idea of using an “oil can” for adding the fluid.
Hello, I have same problem. Do you a video that show how to change those o rings?
Sub'd. Thanks brother. Now my tilt & trim works thanks to your video.
Awesome to hear!
Nice video. Looks like a sea hunt triton.
Glad I found this video. Having this same issue with my Yamaha 200 Enduro engine.
My f200trxb is stuck in down position, motor runs both directions but won’t lift. How do I get it up manually so that I can service the unit?

I have the same leak on my 2007 F150. A follow up video of the o ring replacement would be helpful.
We are producing this video now and hope to have it posted the next week or two
Great to hear Tyler! Perfect time for my repair.
