    Great to hear your 800mile thoughts on it. I'm barely approaching 1/2 your mileage on mine. Being smaller, lighter & somewhat vertically challenged (I'm typical Asian so that says it all 😁), it was a shock gettin on it 1st time. The ex felt like a tank, nay locomotive! It was soooo heavy, lumpy & takes so much effort to maneuver esp slow(er) spds that I thought I made a mistake. 2 weeks in & 350miles later, I discovered my average riding spds have taken a substantial jump over anything I've ridden before. Its still spring thaw where I am with wind gusts galore so I wasnt even tryin. This thing is so easy to go fast. Its also been surprisingly exceptional on dirt where I've done similar trails on the RSht & this ex is as good but wayyy faster but ofcos, not as nimble nor easy to do instant directional changes for obvious reasons. Bottomline, mor I ride mor I like.
    TIP: wipe the batt case with iso alcohol, bake the velcro at 150-170f for 5-10 mins, stick it on & work it in to the grooves with spoon end & it sticks. Bought 2x 12x16" cheap ABS sheets as 'fairings' & pads issues are mostly solved. Will eagerly await your custom 3d pads print files tho. Keep it comin BigG!!! 🤘

    My small contribution to the ECU World.
    Find a Mountainsmith Tour Lumbar Pack
    This can be used as a saddle bag on your unicycle.
    A couple tips
    Make sure all the straps are tucked in.
    Use a water bottle for balance for the left and right side of the saddle.
    The EUC well lean back but you can compensate for this.
    For longer trips it’s nice and beats the weight of a backpack on your shoulders.
    Enjoy!

    Hey George! EX30 looks like an amazing wheel, especially coming up from the EX20S. I’ve been flip flopping between the EX30 and CPro since both of these wheels cover my riding use cases and preferences in different ways, but in the end, I feel I can’t go wrong with either. looking forward to riding one of these two beasts this year.

    Awesome you’re having so much fun with it!
    I’ve seen other guys talk about high speeds and they say that something happens after you pass the 45mph barrier(unstable exc.)
    I’m at 100 miles under my belt and the exercises you given have been a big help.
    Stay safe!

    • @GoGeorge
      @GoGeorge  Před rokem +2

      yeah around 40 mph on any wheel you can physically feel the inertia difference. I always know when im at or approaching 40+ . not necessarily unstable, more like even the slightest imperfections get slightly exaggerated. but also consider almost every wheel over reports speed and if its not gps corrected everyone boasts about falsely inflated speed numbers. my ex30 reports about 9% high

      @@GoGeorge idk if this is something to share with others but I’ve been learning to ride for 6 months.
      It’s been a struggle. Every now and then it would make a clicking noise.
      I finally got enough courage to open the V8s up and I discovered something crazy.
      The 4 bolts on the right side of the wheel were not hooked in!
      After fixing it it has been ten times easier to ride. No pulling to the right. No Wobblies. It’s a new wheel.

    • @james2137
      @james2137 Před 11 měsíci +1

      You were 100% right. I’m starting to get lean backs now.
      Have you ever had your V-8 do a cut out on you?
      I’m really enjoying it but now I have that fear that it’ll give me a cut out when I’m going 20mph.
      Any tips on what the next wheel should be? V11?

  • @AvecPasdMains
    @AvecPasdMains Před rokem +1

    Creating content about something as fun as EUCs is hard because you feel like you have to create content everytime you go out but you also just want to ride and not care about getting good shots or thinking about technical stuff. Anyway, glad you enjoy it, that's the most important part of it. The EX30 is a beast and is very well made. 🤙

    Sorry to hear about your car mishap. I had one a while back. A car didn't stop at a stop sign or didn't look and pulled in front of me. I slammed into the side very hard. Not really hurt, but bent the rim a bit and broke the headlight. Kind of makes me think twice about where I ride, how I ride, etc. Glad yours was minor. And great to hear about your EX30 experiences.

    EUCs have gotten faster but not lighter..my dream wheel is fast light and nimble which equals fun for me.. I'm guessing motor and battery technology won't become lighter anytime soon because lighter materials are more expensive and less profit for manufacturer.. hopefully I'm wrong

    Hey George! Had my EX30 for about a month now, i'm pretty satisfied with the shock feel (other than having to pump it up every few days) and i was wondering what you ended up doing for your shock swap? Did you do the Marty/Roger thing where you had to grind down the shoulder of the shock to get it to fit, or was there a "plug and play" option you found? I've also heard of the custom EMA linkages. Love the channel!

I was lucky enough to move out just in time so it could have been worse. My battery box is also scrapped up but not as bad as it looked everything else is solid.

    Have to agree about the battery boxes on that unit. Might be worth it to replace it.
    Seen the video with Freshly Charged about the smoothness of the boxes to keep the Velcro from falling off.
    Probably find a laser engraving place to create pattern so the adhesive stays on.
    And definitely not excited about using bike lanes even though I haven’t ridden out on the street yet but have seen close calls with bikes with cars. Almost like pedestrians aren’t even there, pay attention four wheeler’s.

    You mentioned in the video that the EX30 range drop is mostly due to the acceleration and the way you ride it. If you were to ride it similarly to your EX20, with less acceleration and less top speed, would you still expect it to get less range than the EX20?

    Now on to business. On a groupride, I wanted to try the EX30 from a Belgium/french guy. And I knew he had the Master. So I did some small talk and ask about the Master, but to no avail. All my words landed on deaf ears. He didn't understand the words which were coming out of my mouth. So I was like never mind. Hopefully I can try the EX30 another day.
    I tried the V13 and Veteran Patton.
    Edit

      the ex30 is in a whole different league than the master. its truely a master piece of a wheel. I hope they continue to refine this exact design going forward. I believe it will be a staple of the gotway/begode lineup until a new battery technology hits the market
