His agility, coordination and strength are absolutely elite. And even his quickness and jumping ability are not that bad given how big he is.

I've watched basketball for years, I don't really know the rules and plays and stuff but I've watched it since about 2006 and being from the UK it's harder to get access to basketball, I had to Google who Perkins was and was quite shocked at his career stats for 15 years as a center

Luka's offense is MJ level
True. A lot different scoring style though. Luka is way less athletic than Jordan was, but slightly more precise/methodical (imo), passes a little more, shoots way more 3s, etc. Watching MJs highlights with his explosive first step and hops compared to Luka's shifty, almost slow motion, half court iso plays is pretty drastically different just from the eye test alone... but the production is definitely there. Also.. his defense still isn't anywhere as good as MJ's was.
It is objectively easier to score in the NBA now compared to the 80s, 90s too... He still needs a few rings and MVP's still to truly have a chance to be in GOAT discussions... one thing I will say Luka has that's very Jordan-esque is his clutch gene.. they both have ice water in their veins for sure.

Winning the second toughest league in the world and being the MVP there might mean you can play in toughest league too... And all this as a boy among men and men who play basketball professionally and he, at the age of 18 was better than any of the 10+ year veterans. I just got done watching a postgame story on NBA Saturday 1/27/24 Channel 3/ABC NBA Countdown about how the NBA's rule change is allowing everyone to score 70. LOL, so instead of giving Luka credit they blamed the 73 points on NBA rules. As a Hawk's fan what I saw by the Hawks defense was no surprise because I've seen it all year. This show was before the Denver vs Philly game so they talk about whos winning the MVP race & then a few say "Joel Embiid is out scoring Jokic & that can't be overlooked" right after they said Scoring is driven by NBA rules. LOL
Also Embiid is probably dodging games that could ruin his stats. A lot of coincidental injuries

I usually agree with Kendrick Perkins but man, i would take Luka over Booker any day. I mean, the man is unstoppable. If he's on his game, he is unguardable. Call him slow but he's making everyone play at his own pace, not the other way around. To score 73 points while lacking 'athleticism' is unheard of, to say the least. You won't score 50 points just by way of catch & shoot - once you see double teams, you're toast. And Luka's been seeing double, triple teams & yet he keeps on scoring.
I hate to say this but if Luka was black, they'd all be singing his praises. An unathletic, slow black player who still managed to score 70 points by sheer will & determination, shooting prowess & his basketball IQ, they'd be all over him.

Stack American players against non-American players in today's NBA and the American-born players lose, PERIOD. Giannis, Embiid, Luka, Wemby, Jokic....just to name the obvious ones... against Morant, Booker, LeBron, Tatum, Lenard, Mitchell, Irving, Davis, etc.
I think some of these ex-players watch too much basketball. That, and their obvious jealousy, blinds them to how good 24yr old Luka Doncic is playing right now, and only going to get even better. What I have been seeing on the highlight reels (when I'm not watching my surging Knicks) is a guy passing like Magic and scoring at will like Bird (back in the early 80's Showtime days). Currently averaging 34.7ppg (73 one night didn't hurt), with 9.6 asst on average. Most of all, he's fun to watch.

Luka is good but there is absolutely no defense in the game and it’s like an all-star game. Just run and gun.
