Assassin's Creed: Codename Red is the working title for an upcoming installment in the Assassin's Creed series, being a part of the Assassin's Creed: Infinity platform. The game is set in Japan and will be helmed by Ubisoft Quebec.
According to the series' Vice President Executive Producer Marc-Alexis Côté, Codename Red will take place in Feudal Japan and allow players to experience a "very powerful shinobi fantasy". It will also return to the newer style Action RPG style games.

Just looks like a way to make people pay more to play.. why if you pay for a disc do you have to get it forced on you? Surely you don’t have to pay for something you haven’t asked for.. ?

Literally, as the previous comment said people have been saying this since AC3, and yet the games keep getting more and more sales so clearly AC's "good run" is still running.
Well, you asked...😉
- Synchronisation prompt should disappear after synching once (but you can still synchronise again if you want)
- Camera movement has to be controlled by the player to avoid dizziness. Example - if I'm riding straight and look left, I should remain in this orientation until I look straight again. Camera moving back on its own to facing forward without my input makes myself and other players dizzy straight away.
- Gear visual customisation should be available to perform from gear menu, like in Odyssey. It was a great option to do it on the go, from anywhere.
- Gear/outfits preview window (the character wearing it) should automatically pop up when hovering over a piece of gear, as opposed to actually selecting it to be able to see what it would look like on your character.
- More stuff like Ezio's bath scene with implied, not actual sex scene, where we see a man, not just an assassin.
- More funny trailers like the Origins one!
- Cutscene should never trigger automatically when you get close to the area, there must be a Talk prompt or something to start it (we want to explore)
- Less and shorter cutscenes with important information and humour, definitely humour! We want to play a game, not watch a movie.
- Ability to use hidden blades in combat as our weapon of choice, like in earlier games.
- At least one epic cutscene should be in the game. What are the best cutscenes of the series? Revelations had two - one in the beginning, one in the end. Fratello mio. And Brasidas in Monger's warehouse in Odyssey. Mamma mia! Breathtaking!
- The map can be turned around and angled to be viewed from the side like in Unity and Syndicate.
- Much closer zoom in for the map. Pin-point marking.
- Map Panel stays off once you hide it. It shouldn’t keep popping up every time you bring up the map, like in Mirage.
- Every icon on the map can be turned off individually through the Icon Legend.
- Eagle vision colours disappear (red/blue , etc.) when enemy is in close proximity/in front of you.
- Also ANY colours or highlights triggered by eagle vision should disappear immediately after entering the photomode.
- Stop making the sprint on foot and mount slow down when in town and in restricted areas. We should be able to take off at full sprint from anywhere.
- The eagle automatically turns the way you are facing after being in hover mode when you release the button to continue flying.
- No more "door is barred from the other side", please!
- Killing anyone without being desynchronised immediately, the character should comment the Creed tenet about killing the civilians you are supposed to protect, instead. It just makes sense.
- Being able to tame the animals (can we tame cats and dogs too? Maybe donkes to use as a mount? That would be fun!)
- The menu order should be permanent. If there's something new added later on in the game, it should be to the right of the existing menu.
- More variety in combat moves (combos) like in earlier games.
- Decisions in dialogues/multiple options that have impact on the further game events would be fun.
- New Game plus, please, always!
- A chance to get the good gear mid-game, not at the very end, so we can enjoy it more.
- XP points to the next level clearly visible at least in the menu, if not on the screen in-game.
- More pole vaulting! And the poles shouldn't disappear immediately, you should be able to pole vault to and fro. That would be so much fun!
- Double assassinations like in earlier games, (even with one blade), when the soldiers stand next to each other, and maybe a knife throw at the third soldier too.
- We want to use close range weapons while on horseback! 100%!
- Using eagle vision can be used while riding the horse at a regular pace
- Horse can fight too by kicking the enemies or rearing and scaring them away.
- Chain counter kills like in AC2 should be a feature in every game
- Getting something for killing any and every animal (no need to physically skin them)
- An ability to pet any domesticated animal like cats, dogs, donkeys, your own horse, etc
- Talking to the animals you pet, like "come here, boy" or "hey kitty" or "who's a nice donkey?" would be a fun addition, many people would love it.
- When attacked by wild beasts, the main character should say something, along the lines of "good dog- bad dog" or "there's a much fatter guy right behind me" or "ow, hey, mind your teeth"
- Please add parkour side jumps in your future games, please! Literally everyone is asking for it!
- Option to have your minimap on/off the gameplay screen.
- DNA/ individual mission replayability is a must. There are not enough save slots to save every quest before it starts.
- The option to name every individual manual save slot ourselves.
- A lot more co-op missions like in Unity (virtually everyone plays online nowadays)
- Snake assassination from above would be a fun addition (thank Lee Majdoub for this one!)
- Surprise unmapped treasures buried in places someone could have actually hidden them (wells, under a rock in a forest, under the floorboards, behind a house, etc.) Somewhere where the questline doesn't take you. But it should light up at the maximum distance when using eagle vision.
- We would rather stick to historical clothes and gear; unicorns, dragons and modern day gear should be available for purchase only, using real money as well as the in-game currency, but the game itself should stay true to its historical setting.
- Ability to earn helix credits or in-game currency for purchases. It worked well for Odyssey, but everything was way too expensive for in-game currency in Valhalla.
- In the next AC games we're hoping you bring back the iconic chase moments and running through burning places or such. There were epic moments with Ezio and Connor. E.g, chasing Charles Lee. A return to those sort of dramatics with the ost included would be great.
- Same character throughout several games. This is what made AC2 so popular in the first place.
- Double assassin blades should be a feature too.
- Throwing knives are the best sneaky way to take out the enemies. They were great in Mirage, but the amount you could carry was low.

I honestly just want a good game AC game. The Series has nose doved since Origins (Great game, bayek deserve a sequel) used to buy them all day one with the statues and read the comics. Now I just don't feel any excitement towards it anymore. Can we just have a solid protagonist, story and world without the useless bloat?

Great work and interesting video on the future of the AC franchise! Interesting points about that Ubisoft usually announces games six months before release, which means that full annoucement on Red could be imminent, since it seems leaks are beginning to intensify. Could be a April announcement since Ubsioft has its full year earnings call mid-May. Could be interesting see if they will use pre-orders for Red in order to improve their sales numbers for this fiscal year. Time will tell. Great work on the vid!

@@65firered yea but they tried desperately to make Mirage look and feel like AC1 because people were crying "we want old AC games back" but it was quite lame. AC1 is still better.
People should get over the nostalgia and accept that things change, even in AC series. If they want nostalgia just play AC 1 with Series X which is backward compariple. It looks good in it :)
Great video Andy and wonderful information, I'm excited to see what they do with Hexe I think it could open up new doors for ideas. In order to enjoy it, probably have to take the 'AC' label off from it.
In terms of the infinity hub......well I think it's a fantastic idea, but we will have to see just how much they're trying to drain from our pockets before I make a big judgement call.

I’m one of the Origins & Odyssey lovers. I thought AC Odyssey had excellent side quests, that went really well with the main story, region to region. Valhalla’s world events were super lame in comparison.
I’d love to see them get back to those type of side quests. I also think not doing a full peak Roman Empire AC is a missed opportunity, especially given how well those select parts were in Origins.

oh i have some ideas please ubisoft listen first off i think an amazing addition to the series would be the ability to use all gadgets in mid air like how Basim can throw knifes in the air allow that for every thing and of course the ability to switch gadgets midair and please bring the ability to activate an assassination but at the same time drop a smoke bomb with a short cut button like how you can with the mod for ac unity called ac fixes that would be amazing also please dont leave Basim behind i really love him as a character and would love to see more of him and please bring hidden blade combat back full scale make it better than its ever been and the ability to fight bare hands and also the ability to disarm them and kill them with their own weapon like the old ac i always loved that please bring back manual jumps and rolls back parkour is so much better and more interactive with both they also add style points also this is small but please always give us the option to have our hood up or down ofc in restricted areas it the hood goes up but id like the option to have it down and please bring rope dart back it was so fun also PLEASE BRING BACK ARMOR OF ALTAIR FROM AC2 I NEEEEEEEEEEEED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! lastly something i want to see so bad im not sure if its possible but would be amazing if it is lets say we as the player rank up in the brother which that is pretty standard but lets say once you reach master assassin you unlock the ability to recruit npcs into the brotherhood like we did in well brotherhood but here it would be cool to see that npc actually tag along with you in the free roam world and at first they are slow and struggle to keep up with you and maybe they dont join you in battle at first but over time they start to get faster and keep up with you even help in stealth and combat until they themselves become a master then after doing this so many times and recruiting people who rank up to master your hard work making the brotherhood stronger you become mentor and also your recruits run the risk of dying so you have to protect them until they dont need it. GOD i hope for this PLEASE UBISOFT
Great update. Always appreciate the information you give. Not sure if this will ever be seen by Ubisoft but the one thing I've always loved about the games is their interaction with history and kind of a new way to learn about different time periods and cultures. Hexe looks really interesting as the witch theme gives me a dark take on the franchise and that's something I can't wait to explore. In terms of monetising the new platform, I can't say that I'm surprised but they just need to remember that not everyone can afford these things so free content should be considered as much as paid. For those that do buy anything from cosmetics to gameplay, players always want quality for their money. Ubisoft have been good for the most part but gamers will only keep spending if they can trust that the developer is giving them great value for the extra money. Can't wait for the official announcement trailer and some gameplay of the AC Red.
I just WISH they would make an Assassin's Creed game set in the present time we live in. Have it across the globe set in several different locations to travel to and explore as massive open areas. It would just be so cool to follow a modern day setting with the Templers and Assassin's against each other.

Thank you for this information! I am a massive AC fan and I am glad to see Ubisoft is making it their priority. After Desmond, the initiate and then Laila, I am really excited to find out what's next. I can't wait to actually see what the next games are about. I am most excited about Invictus.
I’m a huge fan of the middle eastern setting, that being said it just mean something if I’m more excited for this game than I was mirage. This is just based off the leaks and the potential for a movement/stealth rehaul.
@AndyReloads I always dreamed of an Assassin's Creed game that took place during King Arthur the post-Roman Britons in battles against Anglo-Saxon invaders in the late 5th and early 6th centuries. And maybe even one during ancient Celts were a group of tribal groups that lived in western and central Europe from the Late Bronze Age to the Iron Age, roughly 700 BCE to 400 CE.
I don't fully understand this hub.... Can we buy and play the games that we want to play, or are we going to be forced to purchase a monthly subscription to play the new AC games? I've bought and played almost every AC game, but I've never bought any of the micro transactions because I have no interest in the cosmetics.
I can't wait for Assassin's Creed Infinity and I am so glad it will be on console as well given that I am on PS5. I think between Red and Hexe, I'm more excited for Hexe

I love what theyre saying, will they actually follow through is the question. Making customizable gear is pretty sweet tho snd would be neat to have a marketplace for people to sell it. People are buying shit from stores anyway, might as well put that money back to the user.
I am very excited about all of this. I am so happy they try to bring assassin's creed to a new level. I love how they will change the games, so RPG fan can still get a game, the og fans get games like back then and get new genre of game also so we can explore new ways to be an assassin. I am so happy they will bring back multiplayer. I am so nostalgic of the old days playing multiplayer on ac brotherhood. It was actually so fun. I do have one thing that i am wishing for the ac universe. I wish they would go back to the roots and making sequels of the original stories. Like a sequel to black flag, unity or even ac3! It would be so fun to explore what they've been doing after the story ended for them. Except that, i think i have only one worry. I worry about the microtransaction. It's okay to have microtransaction for skin but i always worry there will be pay to win. I really don't want ubisoft to make the game easier by paying more or make us stronger in a way in the multiplayer or solo. it would be to much.

As a long time fan and lover 😉since the beginning of assassins as many of us I can see some elements working for the best but the majority I don't and personally don't like.. One being I love my phisical collection and looks like that's going to stop 👎🏼.. So unfortunately Mirage could very well be the last phisical disc we got or will get..

What amazes me is how almost every game nowadays expects they can just nickel and dime you. Im skipping this.
The modern-day AC is supposed to be a parallel story, as in part of the game with gameplay, cutscenes, activities, etc., putting it into the background again is an incredibly terrible idea. Especially after Mirage and Valhalla reintroduced a proper modern-day character that fans like and want to play. They are shooting themselves in the foot with this as with many of these decisions and it will just further lower investment in the story and the franchise as a whole. Assassin's Creed's reputation is already rather similar to COD but at this rate they are both heading down the same path.

Halo Inifinite was a sign with its multiplayer. Sever issues affecting the game. But the store would be fixed in minutes if it went down. The cost of everything was insanely high for cosmetics.
GTA 6 will straighten out the gaming industry. They’ll have to justify why their games are worth the same amount.
Hopefully. They doubled down after BG3, so... Yeah... Also, GTAO2 will probably immediately destroy the legacy of GTAVI like what happened with GTAV. All in all, I don't trust the industry to learn the right lessons its potential success.

In my humble opinion, AC games are all about assassins vs. Templers and stealth. These ideas about Rpgs and mmos are ruining the franchise. Of course, it brings in money for ubisoft, but it does not serve the purpose of the AC games.
How about a new game plus for Valhalla first? And then with all this other stuff? Jeez sounds like a a lot of empty promises that will just ruin this series even more than it already is

I would love to have shorter AC games. Maybe with 10-15 hours of playtime or even less, cause I’m just not interested in games I have to play for 60+ hours just to complete the main story. This would also give them the opportunity to explore more time periods. But I like their plans so far. The only thing I don’t like are micro transactions.

Tbh I really would like to see in the new assassin creed is wear both characters can carry guns wear one of them has some kind of rifle and the other one dual wielding pistols because I think it would be nice. But at this point I would to see a big map and away from fast travel because with that it would be hard for players to get around.
I kinda don't like what they've done with the "meta story" after Desmond. It's too diffuse. I wouldn't mind if they reset it, really.
