    I think the old school civics and teggys are never going to get boring or stale, I love them with a passion, and they are truly the perfect balance of handling and engineering, but it would be interesting to see what acura does with the new teggy, I hope they don’t “NSX it” though, and by this I mean make it strongly unenthusiastically broken through ev’s, lack of a manual, and unattainability to the average person due to price !

    • @CesarMartinez-gl9ko
      @CesarMartinez-gl9ko Před 2 lety +1

      I think they will. However they will not overprice it. They said this is the entry level car, and the current entry car is $26K so this should be a little more. I also don't think there will be a manual version since Acura doesn't make manuals in a really long time unless they outsource from the FK8. But I'd be happy with a DCT

    This is exactly why I made a decision quickly to jump on one of these! I always wanted another ITR and with prices going up and the new variant being announced it was pretty much now or never on the old car. Even now it was hard to do because in 2015 you could buy a DC5 ITR for 8k. I paid more for my DC5 in present day than I paid for my Evo VII 6 years ago 😩 even Euro R Accords are skyrocketing.

    I love the DC5! The looks were definitely ahead of its time. What made me fall in love with them was the looks and especially the K20 engine. I love it so much that I still own my DC5 since 2007. The K20 is such a good motor that a variation of it is still being made and used to this day. And I like seeing that's it's being swapped into everything, and not just in Honda's.

      I know right, I have a 02 type s with 290k hard driven miles on it and the thing still runs like the day it was new. I even money shifted 3rd to 2nd it one night when I was tired, it revved to at least 10,000 rpm. I know I was extremely lucky and it definitely wasn't good for it but nothing happened. The k20 is the best 4 cylinder ever made in my opinion!

    Bought a DC5 which arrived in February and it's easily the best car I've owned. Just about comfortable enough to use daily, amazing seats, huge boot, it's even pretty economical! Every time I get it on track or a good country road though it completely changes character and becomes an absolute riot to drive. I had a S15 Silvia a few years before it and while the Silvia was great fun (and probably quicker in a straight line), it felt like a boat compared to the DC5. Prices do seem to be creeping up now; they're already around £2k higher than when I bought mine.

    as a dc5r owner (championship white with the iconic red interior) this is one of those cars you love and don't care if your not the fastest thing on the road. It's a beautiful looking car inside and out that's aged well for its time as a modern classic (released early 2001). Its not a hoon looking car, it's more a gentleman's car that was suited for the track as that's where these cars can really be pushed to it's limits all while at the same time still managing to be a practical car that ticks all boxes to make for a sweet fun and reliable daily.

Amazingly reliable too, I had a top engine mount go on it and just recently the plastic tanks on the radiator went (replaced with a full alloy Mishimoto) and I did get the gearbox fully rebuilt in 2016 including changing all syncros to the carbon lined ones (I believe the later year TypeS's had this standard). Made the mistake of selling a 110xxxKM DC5 Type R… but driving a CL7 Euro R, it’s truly an under dog. It took all the good things from the Dc5 and placed it into a far more practical chassis, giving good nostalgia of the boy racer days, but being able to now carry your mates and family members around. I truly hope the CL7 euro r sees the same appreciation and increase in value as the others.

      Thats not going to happen pall, cl1 almost vanishing, the cl7 production was around the same time with the dc5...you can see that the cl7 is not as appreciated as the rest of the type r's...allthough it can have the same potential with some mods

      @@comeconcon569 what do you mean? Their performance engines come out of their Anna, Ohio plant. If the Integra uses the 2.0T, I'd also expect it's a USA manufactured engine.

  • @BlueRice
    @BlueRice Před 2 lety

    the thing is, it will share civic type R component. we know the type R engine is refine and good. having share power plant it would just be same power and feel with different chassis. even if the integra have sh-awd it would still be amazing but the engine power still be the same. what makes prelude, accord, civic and integra different back then was engine. civic si had b16 whould give it a quick acceleration but losing top power against integra type r b18. prelude had the H series that give it a good low and mid torque but losing top end. accord had the F20/f22 which give it a broad low to high but isnt as fast. its heavy and more for family.
    im still interested in this type R regardless. but at the same time. i dont think it would hit me with full bar excitement as it should. a naturally aspirated engine is what kept car enthusiast happy. turbo is what get the market successful. im all in for naturally aspirated engine

      @@live2hustle495 It depends what the intention or objective is who ever owns one. For straightline performance yes I do agree 👍 on the streets, but for circuit racing, hillclimb racing, and other disciplines of motorsport a lil extra hp with the right driver who does a lil track days around a race circuit it should make a difference, I come from a motorsports family every lap the car length increases with the that extra lil few hps. The accord also is more stable at high speed race track corners because of the double wishbone suspension.

Lets hope the 2022 Integra lives up to the legacy but doubt it as the US designed Hondas are crap/heavy and the ugliest things Honda ever produced. Thanks for the cool video though!
