Misha officially a Honda guy now... He can do a build series now on his own Honda
I hope he does, it sounds like a great idea
I’m all in for a Honda build!
Hope he does
Yeah Just with more rear camber
I find Honda to be a bit like Alfa. Most of the real petrol heads I know have had at at least one of each.
Misha went full ari vatanen at pikes peak mode on this one, shielding the sun with his hand and of course your videos with hondas never seem to disappoint when it comes to entertainment
I was thinking the same thing, hehe, if only it had been a Peugeot Misha had been driving. XD
Climb dance must be one of the best driving video of all time.
You saved me writing it. :).
@@isdos its so iconic
@@stevenross-watt8640 was surprised that someone didnt make the same reference
As a person who has owned 5 DC2 Integra Type R, and over 10 EG Hatch civics…..both of which I’ve had as B18, and K20….I currently have a K20 EG, but can honestly say the DC2 chassis is the best chassis to K swap. The EG and DC2 are so similar that every mechanical part can be directly removed from one and attached to the other. I’ve had EG civics with “every” DC2 part which can be swapped swapped. They are both amazing cars, but for me the DC2 has this tiny bit of magic that makes it almost telepathic feeling. Yes the rear is a little more lively in stock form because the DC2 has thick sway bars, but the lift off oversteer can be dialed in and out on both cars simply with tyre and rear ARB size. For me the DC2 just has something the EG doesn’t in the handling department. Especially at the times when you start to lose control or grip on one of your wheels. Whatever chassis you choose you’ll love it tho.
The EK Civic stock rear sway bar is actually quite good. 22mm seems to be about the perfect amount for the rear.
Dude how fuxking rich are you guys man wtf man
EG and DC2 share the same chassis, that's why you can stick DC2 front seats in EG, engine etc.
I heard this from multiple Honda guys. The integrals handle slightly better because of the longer wheel base
@@ssjdavid exactly
465 000 km and still flying... unbelievable GJ Honda
tbf 2nd engine he mentioned. but still remarkable considering that this engine gets 200hp out of 1.8 liters.
go to bmw's and you barely find any e92 m3 that doesnt have at least its rod bearings done even before 100k sometimes.
@@99Lezard99my FN2 Type R is on 125k miles and the K20 still sings like it’s new. I kick its head in most days and I’m even still on the original clutch 😎
@@samwes1065😂😂😂😂, same. The joys of owning a Honda.
Oh good lord I thought I heard 265,000 but 465,000 is insane Japan does the thing with 4 cylinder engines for sure
my DC2R was on 180,000km when I sold it, I did 6 trackdays a year, with nothing other than log book maintenance, I literally redlined it every day, it was not burning oil or down on power
The passenger blinks like every 10km... He really didn't want to miss a single milisecond :)
Hah first thing I thought on watching the video was even with the sun in their eyes a blink counter would be wasted on this video.
yeah that mf is on some serious shit
Those Takata belts really pull the interior together. Love the JDM vibes.
Took me till 8mins into the video to realize, oh shit he has Takata belts
This was the most fun I’ve had in a Honda for a while.
That B series engine is a beautiful orchestra. They’ll go down as one of the all time great engines.
DC/DB, EG, or EK. You can’t go wrong with the Civic or Integra chassis for your next build Misha!
It interesting that in murica people use civic as a meme while praising the elephants like challenger and tesla xD
@@zerooneonetwothree1872 some of the biggest Honda fanbois were in America when these cars were new.
Ee8 k24 ❤
@@Euphorica I know, and they are still very popular, but civic is not hated around the world, only in murica and its a excellent drivers car that beats around the ring some murican cars that they praise with 3X less power. That is my whole point xD And even if it didnt beat them, the emotions that they claim matters the most is higher in a cheap civic than in those vibrating ships.
@@zerooneonetwothree1872 What are you talking about? Americans love Hondas…
Миша и Хонды- это то, что мы всегда ждем с большим удовольствием!!
I love the honda love happening here. EF is my preferred chassis, but really, it's hard to go wrong in late 80s-2000 era Honda.
I've run both chassis, EG and DC2 and i found that the EG is a more ballance chassis. Dont go b16 turbo, it will overheat like hell. B18c are now dynosaures, the youngest on have 20 years old and when you open it up to add cams, piston or anything else, they are no more reliable. Go K engine swap. You will have a 6 speeds trany that fit with the K. If you want more power than a NA k serie add a supercharger, not a turbo. Cheer from Québec, Canada
Dc2R is unbeatable in the 90s honda range for race track
@@RodoElshoff dc2r might be the best fwd honda performance car
I agree K is awesome, but OG VTEC sound is superior in a B.
Ontario Canada. Automotive engineer ;-).
Woohoo another guy that prefers a super charger that is rare I prefer supercharger as well
@@scottpolston6137 SuperCharger for sure on a track/Circuit car, SuperCharger makes the power curve so predictable and always there. Its also less parts so less stuff to F up, with the kits they have these days ive seen 400+whp on stock f20 s2000's run hard with no issues. SC>TurBo for the 💍...
If you could find one, a first generation CR-X would be incredibly cool to see as a ring ripper. It's hard to go wrong with an Integra though, NA K24 with a big wing would be fun.
I just talked about him driving a DC2 in the last Honda video and here he is driving one. Misha never fails to deliver!
You're looking more fun in the k20 Ek4😊 that was an absolutely beast lap with the banging limiter
Great lap! Love the DC2. If you're doing for a Honda build with a K-swap, you should get the engine built by Sneaky Tuning in Almere, NL. The owner knows how to build and tune these engines like no-one else! Greetings from a proud S2000 owner. 😊
Absolutely blitzed passed me in the Volvo @ 5:35! Please do a lap in my car Misha! I come down every year for that 12 hour race, love it!
I was just saying on another video last week that I'd love to see Misha rip a DC2 around the track. A week later and here it is. A coincidence of course, but oddly so. Thanks for this. The DC2 Integra will always be one of my favorite cars ever built. (was a 1995 Integra GS-R owner for many enjoyable years)
My most favourite Honda of all time thanks Misha, this is definitely one of my two garage 👍
Great lap Misha !!! EG I think is the best chassis with a k24 for additional torque but personally I like k20 turbo as my dream build !!! 😜👍🇦🇺
It's impressive (comparing B18 with a K24) how the relative lack of torque,
makes the dynamic weight transfer F>R under WOT way less noticable.
The K24 EG was permanently "light" on the front, so much so that it makes the car way more demanding and, ultimately, exciting/"sweaty".
The DC2 is a perfect driving 'scalpel', yet, the relative lack if excitement makes it far more difficult to appreciate its dynamic virtues.
Brilliant stuff!
DC2R is such a special car. I’m really glad you got to drive it and love seeing this lap.
Car looked amazing in person. Very nice to have met the owner Padi and Misha 👍👍👍
I had a similar car - the back end dragging along was what convinced me to get a proper RWD car and I got the NSX then :)
Another great lap and awesome Honda content. If you’re planning on doing your own classic Honda build, I’d look into a DC2R or an EK simply for the stiffer chassis. The DC2R chassis had more sheet metal and welds compared to the regular DC2. On the other hand, the EK9 didnt get that much more reinforcement over the regular EK’s apart from the rear subframe, lighter crash bars, and lighter glass. So any of the EK’s would be good as they’re stiffer than the EG’s and the regular DC/DB
190 hp, 1200kg, ~7s to 100, 235 km/h max - raw stats almost exactly identical to the Corrado VR6. A guy in my village actually owned one (a white one too) for a while, but we never got to compare. In stock form, the DC2 is more (track) focused - better weight distribution (no massive 6cyl hanging over the front), diff, suspension; with mods, it should be veeery interesting.
Is time to change it😂
dc2 is far closer to 1000kg than 1200. Even a dc5 is sub 1200kg, and yes both have less weight over the front as you say
DC2 would run rings around the corrado on any track. A well driven corrado may keep up on straights. JDM 96 spec Integra R is 1060kg…..UK version is 1110kg IIRC.
corrado has some disadvantages tho. like you said the heavy iron block 6 pot engine and especially the torsion bar rear suspension.
the dc2 does have a pretty sophisticated suspension design for what it is.
but the corrado of course does have a torque advantage having a whole liter of extra displacement.
A VR6 Corrado would probably stay ahead through some high speed sweepers and straights but the ring is pretty technical for it, at least stock. One can carry great momentum through tight turns with the Integra's lift off oversteer if they're used to it. All things depending on the driver's skill though.
DC 2 with Japan front , best car
Still one of the Best looking FWDs Ever ! ^^
and handling to match that 😋
Honda goodness again! Thank you Misha!
About stability you mentioned in the beginning, just my two cents: EK Civic wheelbase is actually longer than DC Integra wheelbase, unless Integra is a 4-door sedan, then they are the same
Yeaaahh, finally the car I was waiting, thank you MIshaa
Best car I ever owned. Love the b18c engine. I had a dc2 like yours in lightweight spec. No airbags from the factory. Enjoy this great tool Misha!
If I were you Misha, I would buy an EG shell and spend the extra money on suspension parts and making sure the engine can generate either the torque or the top-end hp to perform decent past Breidsheit. That would mean any number of things, but the big issue with the B or K engines is the rods can’t handle much torque if boosted down low. Either I would focus on building a K20/B18 and add a small turbo or roots supercharger OR a K24 with K20A head and make sure the rods are sufficient on both options. As for the suspension, DC parts can be swapped over to the EG platform straight up and both are double wishbone on the front. You could even build an AWD OR RWD Civic since rear driveline parts are available and even billet transfer cases if you were worried about toughness. The world is your oyster, as they say!
Cheers! 🖖😎👍
My favorite japanese car. Used it to memorize the turns of Nordschleife in GT7. The car, if I remember correctly, was the result of trying to build something that drives 'easy'.
ASMR. Just pure ASMR
I love FWD tail happy cars, it's what I grew up driving fast. Once you get used to it having the rear break traction in a fast corner feels so natural. The DC2 is rated as one of the best ever handling FWD car.
Misha the man you ask n u shall receive always keeping the viewer pumped waiting for this one thanks brotha
I just took out my '96 B18B non-VTEC witttthhh a head build, 200hp non-VTEC monster😂for a drive after watching this! I felt bad, hadn't driven it in a couple of weeks. Loving the recent Honda/Acura content! Brings me back to the mid to late 2000s...I think I'm still a tech moderator on Superhonda forum hahaha. I've got a '24 M4 Comp coming to the garage to sit beside my Teg - I know they'll be besties :)
12:17 Thats proper Ari Vatanen-Pikes peak style!!! Excellent drive as always mate!!!!
I know of a very fast Dutch Integra, would love to see that one on this channel
kay allready was on his channel. but kay was driving. not misha
@99Lezard99 I see thank you, but that was 3 years ago.....different car now😄
I use to own a 2001 Integra Type R, Flamingo Black Pearl #989 .....This video made my day! Way to drive as always!
Misha, try to go for a K24A2 with a 6 speed LSD transmission, with just a good header, VTC gear and ECU tune, it's easy to make good power. By the way, the EG/DC platform is pretty much identical suspension wise. I'd suggest trying to drive different suspension set ups, front stiff or rear stiff, etc.
I'd loooove to see you drive a 986 boxter s some day :D
Epic car , epic drive love that car nice video
ive driven a stock type R one of these and the performance was crazy , everything is real sharp, suspension is hard, brakes are snappy and the engine sings
Oh PS to Misha: Inspect ALL bushings. The car is more than 25 years old. Very rare to find a car over that age without a split bushing or two unless it was a superb owner that was meticulous in their maintainence. Might want to check wheel bearings.
Trust me, all bushings and every part is like new and in great condition. Checking and maintaining all few thousand KMs. I own the car more than 10 years and build it from stock 😉
@@hoernchenmeister Very nice!!! All too often in repairing cars of that vintage I am recommending replacements for the owners. I personally have a couple Honda, both are various durometer of poly for appropriate ride quality and nvh + control
And as always nice driving 🎊👌🏼
Thats a great platform, and with the technology available today, easily convert to AWD for that extra performance.
And I want to add that is some impressive mileage 465k km. That's a cool 288k Miles very nice. Keep it running!
Integras only get snap oversteer when you use PU trailing arm bushings. They can bind up the suspension, and they also remove engineered toe-in under braking. Stock bushings (in good condition) are way more controllable.
The 3p front tower bar is worth it, way better than the stock 2p bar.
these trailing arm poly bushes that can slide left to right on the pin in the middle. they are probably at fault. energy suspension makes these for example.
Absolutely love the old type r in every different model, especially as these cars have been around for year’s and back then a proper drivers car, but you watch the rpm gauge and think this is a missile and then you chech the speedometer and think 🤔 is it broken? Why’s it not going up! But it’s the handling and screaming vtec there all about, but when boosted, blower, or snail they really are weapons. Great video 👌
Outstanding car! Love it! I love the 4 Cylinder Scream!
The owner’s car seems great, but definitely needs stickier tires all around. Will help with the rear sticking, allowing you to get on the throttle earlier at corner exit. More torque would help too like Misha mentioned - K24 swap would fix that.
I was actually on a Trackday at the same day in the morning. There i used Toyo r888r on 16 inch wheels. But they are not legal on my car in Germany, so I had to stay in my road tyres. But they are OK, maybe even better when they are not properly warm (almost impossible in public roads to get the rear tyres on temperature due to the light rear)
@@hoernchenmeisteryeah I feel like this could be an Issue on a DC2R. I ran sporty road tyres when I had mine and balance was good but imagine that the rear end would get kind of sketchy running current gen semis with front on temp but rears unable to get warm enough
Loving the outline from the suction cup on the windscreen - acts like a cross hair for the next car to overtake :D
With the enthusiasm that Misha has when rocking VTEC Rickshaws I'm surprised a Civic hasnt been born yet. A high compression K series with a Rotrex would be a perfect Ring weapon.
Hi Misha I remember you looking around my DC2 all the way back when you were at ring garage! Great to see you in one! Mine has over 200,000 miles but not as many as this one!!! Wow!!!!
Tires/Wheels best upgrade to start. Spoon has some super light wheels with perfect offset, as does ADVAN/Yokohama Wheels. I like some of the Mugen wheels, but they are ultra rare at this point, especially the gunmetal ones.
Focus on chassis, mo' powa is always mo problems.
Great lap Misha!
Whichever chassis you decide to go with, i really hope you document it and put it out there for us to see.
Cheers for the amazing content!
And get regular dynos to prove the effect of each part. That and datalogs. Going on track has allowed me to know what is bullshit and what is worth it.
17" wheels does not suit this car, looks, handling and performance are hurt by this! But it still a fenomenal car!
Beautiful drive with the sunset and all
Dude this is the best integra in my opinion
i really really enjoyed your lap driving videos on Nürburgring misha. makes me wanna do it on Granturismo 7 haha! nice !
EG holds a special place in my heart, along with a proper beater, 4-door 88 civic, like the one I had, which I bought for the princely sum of $50, when I first moved to Los Angeles in 2001. So racy and fun at sane speeds, altho the passenger footwells would flood in the rain :). I miss that car
This is the best JDM ENGINE AND GEARBOX in this channel very smooth, precise and strong Clutch plate
Dc2 chassis tend to have the edge on track over EG when moded. Maybe down to aerodynamics or just the extra length that could probably help the car rotating.
Also, the rear wheel wells are stiffer as well as the C pillar area.
Egs tend to dominate in drag racing, though
Beautiful VTEC sound!
Very smooth lap ❣️👌🏼😊
the hand in the air driving into the sun reminded me of Ari Vatanen on the pikes peak video climb dance
This brings back memories ❤
Ive had an ek4 and there is currently a jdm 98 spec dc2r in my garage, both fun but the integra is on another level.
Always a soft spot for an white DC2
I’ve had my ass handed to me by many a DC2R at autocross and time attack. They’re incredible and very fun!
@@BrodeyDoverosx aye they are, I almost bought one back in the days but needed more space so I got the CH1 Accord R, had it for 8 years 168'000km never an issue.
Got to be DC2! Can be made to look so good with a wing, I have 2 an ITR and non ITR import (currently in the middle of K-swapping) Make it happen Misha!
I’ve been waiting for this day to come
Those four cylinders are singing! Loved it!
its crazy how the sun can effect driving, well done Misha clean driving my man!
Drives me crazy. Evening drives on B-roads in the autumn season, going west, I can’t see a thing. I have to wear my golf sunglasses to mitigate as much sun as possible.
Misha can drive with his eyes closed xD
Finally a Integra type R 😎
offcourse i want you to build a DC2 😋😉
I second this entire opinion ! 🥰
My Favourite of all Type R hondas. B18CR with some slightly meatier cams and a nice intake is Sublime.
Amazing driving Misha, way better gear selection on this one, kept the speed insane for this amount of power.
The way that motor sings mid corner between 7-9 thousand revs is magnificent.
DC2, EG or even EK, i'd love to see any of those but whatever combo you go for, if youre planning to add power, supercharge :P
That sound is just amazing.
It'd be even more fun to see the v6 from the nsx with a supercharger but i dont know how easy that is
Ee8 crx I think it’s the best body for the track, it is very light and off course it’s your choice for the engine, can’t wait to see the finished product 👍👍👍👍👍
Definitely wins the price for "reckless lack of visibility" for the entire season. Seriously, not cleaning your windshield can reduce your visibility down to nothing, low sun position drives this point home...
Very good drive! 👍 That low Sun… quite the pest! 👍
485.000km on the chassis! WOW, Hondas are just amazing..
I was just like you, Misha…I wanted an integra chassis with an eg front end so i bought an Ej1 (eg coupe) and threw in a built gsr turbo. If you’re stuck in between like i was, then i would definitely recommend the coupe version with it’s longer wheel base
FINALLY an Integra !!! Civic's are great, as an EG6 owner it's amazing how fun it is. But Integra chassis is maybe the best FWD chassis from the 90s. And the B18C6 is a hell of an engine, as much as the K20A2
Great job
i love your Honda video's
The DC2 and the DC5 are two of my favorite Honda cars of all time. Its like these cars came with a soul.
Much love Misha.
the mighty b18! Nice job Misha!
A DC2 ITR with a track happy suspension on 17’s is liiiiiife.
love the omp crocs
I love the B series to play with more than the K. For a VTEC, NA all the way. It's harder to find the torque but if you do, the street cred is there.
nice one i love integra
Waiting for test DC2 type R in long time, nice
I started a honda racing car club in 1993 for a few years (a couple years before the civic and integras Type R came out).
Its amazing to see how car engines and handling has come. 25 years ago this was an elite front drive racer. Its really aged in a strange familiar way. But really not all that fasr. You have had stock newer underpowered cars do better than this in most spots.
I have great memories of 1990s hondas and acuras though....
Amazing driving Misha, as always. I would love you to show us driving NSX, or something other super special from Japanese, like Toyota 2000GT!🤩 Thank you for what you do and especial for pedal camera, I love doing heal and toes!🙃
Love the red line work
Had one of these (UK model) for 16 years as a daily driver. Was a great car but the rust was the thing which destroyed it. Mine was standard but I used to love the engine noise.
With you talking about the rear being loose, its actually how its designed. Honda designed the Dc2 to be tail happy to help turn in and help the car become as enjoyable as they are. they really are a 90's dream car, if you wanna talk driving. ps - the mismatch tires probably amplify this tho lol
You got me with white car with black wheels. Cannot go wrong!
B18B Turbo. Best power band you can get without abusing the motor with vtech. Stock LS integra block and couple head upgrades and it’s going to run forever.
There is nothing more satisfying to drive on a super fast circuit than a lightweight high rpm momentum car.. Just imagine how satisfying it would be to have an open track without other cars to kill your momentum.. These Honda and Acura's are pure bliss to wring out on track, not my favorite to drive on the street, but man they are fun at full song..But, These little lightweight Honda cars are the perfect track weapon, as they are cheap and cost almost nothing in consumables, and will hurt the feelings of someone who thinks they are awesome, just because they could write a check for a Porche.. LOL
