The MMPR SNES Fighting Edition is one of the best games out there no one talks about. The game engine was so well done, it was re-used by Natsume when creating Gundam Wing Endless Duel for Super Famicom.
SNES Drunk always spot on with the facts. Two of my fave YT channels interacting makes me happy.
Looks like I gotta play Gundam Wing Endless Duel.
Is actually horrendously broken. I guess is fine for casual play but anyone into fighting games will quickly discover all the dumb infinite combos and horrible balance.
Cool but I don't usually play fighting games vs. CPU, just vs. a friend

I am completely perplexed at how anyone could choose the Sega sound over the SNES sound between these two games.
Great episode, no way the Sega game has better sound than the SNES though imo. Natsume games always had outstanding sound design.
The Genesis version actually has 13 characters. The evil version of the Green Ranger can be played in 2P mode via a code. Which means you can play as the Green Ranger large version on zord stages.
Cool.
Seriously, a Power Ranger game should let you play as one of them! Great episode guys, perfect timing with the recent release of the new movie!

I like how Dan says that the villans look incredible in the Sega game, when in that game, you can barely see Goldar's face.

Love this channel, thanks for the fun comparisons between 2 classic consoles. Reminds me a bit of my youth, my friend had a genesis and we had a snes. I'm very thankful I got to experience both consoles and all of their greatness.
You just can't beat those badass and over-the-top super moves on the SNES version. I'll take that over playing as the rangers anyday.

I remember playing the Mega Drive game as a kid and even back then I knew that game was really bad. The SNES Fighter version is a really unknown fighting game for the SNES that happens to be quite solid.

We should also mention that for the Genesis game's many cutscenes, they are extremely repetitive - basically the same scene is repeated for most stages! By the 4th or 5th iteration, you just tune it out....in this case, I would say better to have none than boring monotony!

Dan, you really didn't mention that the genesis game has street fighter type moves you can pull off. those moves let the rangers use their signature weapons.
Hey guys, the Sega version has secret super attacks as well. 360 on the d-pad and hit the attack button while the power bar is full. It's little known.

Great video as always, but you forgot some details: there is an extra character on the Genesis Game, Evil Green Ranger, I know, it's the same character, but with other set move. And the Genesis game has special finishing moves too, I remember the Megazord throws multiple lasers from the head and it takes at least half of the enemy's energy.
I played this game a lot when kid, but it was boring as hell, the snes game is more fun.

the first time i went to a 3d experience, it was in Ferrari world abu dhabi, they didn't tell us it was 4d and they wanted us to be surprised, i think it was when 4D was just released and few people knew about it , it was 2009, the first year it was mainstream, we were wondering why the seats were weird and we knew something was wrong when they strapped us in , but i tell u, the first splash of water got me off guard....it was a great experience.....

I never got into Power Rangers, but I think it's very cool that you guys compared the fighting games, instead of just comparing the first one from each console. More apples to apples, and that SNES game doesn't look bad at all! Might have to check that out.

that snes fighting edition was fun as hell, a bit barebones but still fun as hell...though yeah i do think it was kinda questionable they only allowed you to use the thunder and wite tiger thunger megazords, given the appearance and of the ninja and shogun zords they should have been playable too...aaaww well great video guys

The Genesis game is completely outclassed here. The SNES edition was a conversion from Gundam Wing: Endless Duel, which is one of the best non-Capcom fighting games on the Super Famicom. This was never a contest.

Maybe. Top 10's aren't our thing but that's a good suggestion.
I sort of prefer smaller characters in fighting games because it allows more room to maneuver.

The Fighting Edition on Super NES is actually the third Power Rangers game on SNES which came out September of 1995.
The second was The Movie which came out in July of 1995.
I will have to check out The Fighting Edition on SNES. I missed out on that one when I was a kid.

It would be cool to see you guys compare Double Dragon, Castlevania vs Master of Darkness, compare ports of Sega arcade games like Space Harriet, After Burner, Altered Beast and Fantasy Zone, compare the first Final Fantasy to Phantasy Star, compare The Legend of Zelda to Golden Axe Warrior or Govellius, Ducktales vs Lucky Dime Caper Starring Donald Duck, Gradius Vs R-Type, Ikari Warriors Vs Rambo II First Blood, Punch Out Vs Rocky, Adventure Island VS. Wonderboy, compare Ninja Gaiden ports, Zelda II Vs Wonderboy III Dragon's Trap.... just a few ideas *wink wink*.
NES ve SMS def would be cool. Gotta get a SMS first.
Yeah unfortunately prices have gone up a bit but same could be said for nearly every retro system but I do think it would actually do really well especially with the NES coming back in to the spotlight, and people that have already collected everything they want for the NES have begun to check out what Sega had to offer during the era. It's definetely worth the investment and interesting to play 8 bit games that I missed out on; it is refreshing to collect for a system that I was completely unfamiliar with.

Ironically, I have the first SNES "Power Rangers" game. And now knowing that the "Fighting Edition" is the second game, I bet these games really compliment each other.
