- Cruising the Panama Canal - Are you thinking of cruising the Panama Canal? Today we’ll cover all you need to know before going on your cruise. In the video we tell you about the Panama Canal, a bit of history, fun facts and different type of cruises thought the Canal.
We will also be describing our own experience cruising the Panama Canal in the fall of 2018.
If cruising the Panama Canal is in your bucket list than this video is perfect for you. We will also give you a little tip that a crew member told us to pick the best cabin on the ship for cruising the Old Panama Canal.
We are two Canadians currently living in Italy. We moved to Italy in November 2018 to start a new chapter of our life's and we would like to share our story with. We hope you enjoy it.

In March 2017, Rick and Andrea (confessed Travel Addicts) started a Facebook Group called Travel Addicts as a way to share their travel photos and videos not just with their own respective friend's lists - but with the world. Part of the reason was for bragging rights (I mean, that’s kind of the point of sharing photos, right?), but also to help answer questions to others about the destinations they have visited.
After inviting some of our friends and family, it grew and grew - and as of June 2019, the group has grown to over 200,000 members! One reason for our success, we believe, is that we have done our best to ensure only high-quality photos and videos get shared, all while limiting the use of commercial content.
Thanks for the video. I have cruised the Panama Canal multiple times going both directions through the old locks. We will be doing the Panama Canal both directions through the new locks in February and March. We always find it interesting and well worth the trip. One clarification is the mules do not pull the ships through the locks they just hold them from side to side. The ships are moving on their own power through the locks.

Thanks for the video guys! We just got done with a 12 night Caribbean and booked Ft Lauderdale to LA for next Spring. Definitely a bucket list trip, and I checked just now and our ship is Panamax size. I hadn't thought of that, so thank you!

thanks for this. we will be doing a partial transit in december...sort of ended up on this cruise by default as our previously booked one was cancelled and date-wise, this was the closest one. you know what they say...sometimes the universe conspires to make a great experience for you out of something that started out as a negative. enjoy your style....ps moving to italy is definitely on our bucket list!

You forgot a full transit by a cruise ship from Panama City as mine will be in March 2025 on the NCL Jade.
