Hey Cruisers, In this episode we kick off our epic Panama Canal cruise aboard the Caribbean Princess with a look at our pre cruise day, and day 1. We start off in the airport waiting to board our JetBlue flight to Florida. Then we give you a little look at our pre cruise hotel stay, and our embarkation day. Once we are onboard the Caribbean Princess we give you a shaky impromptu tour of our cabin, and swing by the main dining room for a little lunch. Next it's sail away time, and I have to say it was a super fun sail away. The crew on the Caribbean Princess really did a fantastic job getting the crowd fired up for sail away fun. After sail away we check out the scene at Skywalkers and drop by Planks for some dinner. You really should! It’s such an amazing cruise line. There’s not to much kids and it’s an amazing experience. It’s peaceful and not like Carnival Cruise lines. It’s way better! I’m going on my 9th princess cruise this June to Alaska and I can’t wait!

Ahhhh such good memories of flying to Florida and boarding Princess ships. Now we live here in Florida and can’t wait to drive to the port and begin cruising again. Panama Canal cruise planned for Dec. 2021 (4th time). Fingers crossed! Love your videos!
We've stayed at that Embassy Suites and agree it was fine. Nice to watch the cruise terminal. I like that there is quite a bit of "walk-to" shopping in the neighborhood.

First time cruiser here. I need to thank you for your tips and advice. I did my Dollar Tree haul and picked up clips to hold my beach towel on the chair. Nightlight since we booked an inside cabin. Over the door hooks for wet beach towels. Mesh laundry bag for dirty clothes. Band-Aids, antibiotic oitment, hydrocortisone. Manicure kit, messenger bags, lanyards, and a few other things but dont want to take too much of your time. Thank you so much again. I cant wait for my first cruise. I feel like I am definitely more prepared than I would have been without you. 💋💜
We were at Embassy Suites in Puerto Rico in 2008 for 2-3 days. It was awesome, it was our embarkation port!!!

We stayed at the embassy suites in ft Lauderdale and stayed on the 11th floor. While it was a beautiful view of the ships in the morning it took almost an hour to get on the elevator and my husband ended having to go down the stairs since he couldn’t fit with me and our luggage and the nice people who let me on. 11 flights in Florida heat was a little too much for him lol!
Thanks so much for getting this up! It is so cool to see "my ship". I am 21 days away from my Panama Canal. It has been so cold here in Houston I am looking forward to warm weather.

Hey Sheri- With regards to paying for the shuttle from the hotel to the port, we've found that's the norm in FL. When staying in both Tampa and Miami in 2015 and 2016, our respective hotels had a "stay and cruise" package in which you paid an additional amount for the shuttle to port. While the shuttles to and from the airports are usually complimentary, the shuttles to the ports are not.

loving your vlogs. Princess was our first cruising experience 5 years ago and we loved it. SInce then we have done Cunard, NCL (2), Marella and MSC . All great in their own way but will defo try Princess again one day.Meantime I will live vicariously through you x

Totally looking forward to the rest of this series, we actually almost booked this cruise as the canal is on our bucket list. Will have to check out the Embassy, we drive to those ports but stay overnight in Fort Lauderdale for that port and Miami. We like the Hilton Garden Inn in Dania, no happy hour but close to lots of restaurants. It sounded like the Embassy was walking distance to a Publix, did I hear that correctly? We always need to pick something up...
Most airplanes have those neon blue lights,especially the newer planes

Great video, I always use a driver to take me to the port. I used to use a taxi before I started my Agency. The hotel shuttles I don’t like for that exact reason, they always wait for the van to be full.

I wish I can convince my mom (aka my travel buddy) to cruise through the Caribbean. I want to try a warm weather cruise but she is not budging. 🙄When you film around a lot of people, like on the plane, do people make comments? Or are they usually pretty chill about it?
It all looks quite nice, and the stress is minimized. From the other videos on the topic, I ask what is the cost. The gratuities and the other items that comes with the fare. Those (hidden) costs, where a price for everything, or so it appears.
Loved sail away....waiting for the actual canal/locks and excursions....our full transit is in early May on Celebrity...but am curious about Princess Line
I’ve sailed from that port 4 times on a themed cruise. Leaving the cruise there are shuttles lined up for Airports. It’s a mess. One year I had an earlier fight out. Walked to taxi stand no wait to load people & luggage. Cost about the same!
What time lapse settings do you use for your video's for like the wing video? We just got off that ship from Dec 21 to Jan 5. Yes we did Christmas and New Years on the Coral... it was a BLAST!

I would like to take my first cruise next year spring break with a teen what does anyone suggest
I thought you were trying the "carry-on only" challenge? Cross-my-fingers, I've never had a baggage issue during our 12 years cruising. Have done the "at gate" check once and its just put in with other pre-checked luggage, so only expected it at the carrosel with all baggage. LOVE Embassy look, with the centre court area! Will have to try them out sometime.

I do the same. For week(or longer) cruises it can be a lot easier than using the provided bar soap every time you wash your hands, in your stateroom.
Bring your own pump soap! They have bar soap which is messy. Pump soap is cleaner around your sink.
I bring some liquid pump soap on cruises too as well as some air freshner spray for the bathroom odors that float up every now and then.

I never tried the specialty restaurant on the cruise 🚢. I honestly don’t want to pay 💰 the extra cost when you already paid for the foods. That’s just me.
Did your rooom come with all those pillows ?
They can’t warm the water in the pool because they suck it in from the ocean.Its sea water.
Can you recommend a hotel near restaurants and not to far from the port in Fort Lauderdale? We won’t be renting a car so cabs for us.
