Rooney’s work ethic was extremely important for the team. He didn’t just score goals but creates them as well. In 2007/2008 he played as a winger instead of his preferred position as a striker. He ended up scoring 18+ goals and created 10+ assists. Rooney in for Ruud imo. Rooney helped the team in so many other ways which will clearly improve the team

I would replace Cantona with Rooney, and have Rooney and Ruud, Rooney was a far better player than Cantona lets not beat around the bush, he was better in every aspect, Ferguson's and man united fan's overate Cantona, Rooney could drop into midfield and play and make things happen as well as having that touch of magic,and he could score goals

Me too. I'm a liverpool fan. So i'd have to say our 2 best forward were Kenny Dalglish and Ian Rush. Yet i'm leaving out Michael Owen who won ballon d'or at Liverpool. Great clubs have tough picks.

He's one of the rough players u get on a team where u don't wnt him to tackle u as he will take ur legs off. Also butt once saved a goal deliberately with his hand and got a red card. Ballsy lol

I would keep Rio and vidic pair as they had great understanding. Most consistent pair of United as well. Upfront definitely Rooney as he helped fight to get the ball back as well. Other striker choice can be Rvn or contona. United had abundance of great strikers during Fergie spell. Irwin and Gary definite pick. Scholes and Keane probably yes.
Keane has to be the first name on the team sheet every day of the week and twice on Sunday,he was the best all round midfielder the premier league ever had.Despite scoring 97 goals in his career he sacrificed scoring goals for winning championships,cups,champions league.

Ronnie did play at right sided midfield for united but also went left since he’s ambidextrous he can play left and right so u can put him instead of giggs. But then giggs is needed.
you can also play ronnie up top but he didn’t do that for united
good XI. i . Denis Irwin could use both feet just as good, and his O.G. position was rightback, even tho he played mostly on LB, as he was just as good there. I also would consider Beckham at rightback in the modern game. imagine Beckham, a lot like Trent Alexander-Arnold. not the fatest, but great technique and probably the best crosser of all time + hard work rate up and down. I might actually go with this XI

id also highly consider: Van Der Sarr, Robson, Vidic, Evra, Carrick, Neville, Cole, Rooney instead of Cantona etc. if this was a real team, id prolly pick rooney instead of Van Nistelrooy too, as Rooney is a better passer of the ball and can play cantona, giggs, ronaldo, scholes etc into better positions. Stam and Ferdinand for me are easy. they are like Van Dijk for liverpool. they have everything. Rio and Stam are both strong, fast, tall, smart, composure on the ball, can pass the ball. imagine having them in our backline today, playing out from the back. omfg. could also play with 3 in central mid. with either carrick behind as 6 or keane. and put scholes/robson/beckham there in front.

I didnt choose CR7 over Giggs for their individual abilities. It's more of a playing style. With Becks' crazy passes, having CR7 in the team, not to mention RVN and Cantona playing together, would terrify any teams.

That team is chosen on merit and not on South Africa's affirmative action policies. I agree with the choice, but also feel the back up 11 is a wonderful way to acknowledge amazing players such as Robson. Also Ruud is a better choice than Rooney.. He had a hunger to score goals, and was ultra competitive to be top scorer each season. Rooney has the club record only because of the no of years he was at Man United.
