Fun fact about magazines: leaving them completely loaded doesn't wear them out much at all. The cycle of compression and expansion that comes from use is what causes the spring to eventually give out.
I think Brownells even did a video on that
That is one myth that just absolutely refuses to die despite being debunked for years. I’ve been hearing this for years and people still believe in it.
@@alexs5744 To be fair it was true a long time ago.
@@m2hmghb When was it ever true? Springs haven't ever changed how they worked.
@@hdog9046 The metallurgy has. They didn't reduce strength, they would just break due to poor alloys and poor heat treatment and stress points.
I’m so sorry Kip, but at 12:16 your horns are giving Brandon a big purple addition to his mustache and it’s making me cackle
Lmao
My grandad taught me during my teenage years that if I wanted to light a fire, I first had to know how to put one out. same line of reasoning with gun safety. if you wanna be learning how to make holes in things, you need to learn how to plug holes in things. not every negligent discharge results in an injury, but better to have the skills and not need them than sail a round through something important and not be able to do anything about it.
A first aid kit is mandatory for any range trip at an absolute minimum. Better still is a trauma kit, including a tourniquet.
My rifle club has these at every shooting station, along with a laminated card with the specific GPS coordinates of every shooting station on the property should a major incident occur, to inform the 911 operator of precisely where the paramedics need to navigate to.
There is no substitute for being appropriately prepared for any activity you're engaged in.
Ive read the instruction label on Tannerite, it says for every ounce used, be 100 yards away. So 2oz, they recommend 200 yards and so on.
I like how the censor (emojis?) react to the situation and aren’t just a single image. Nice touch.
I figured I'd have some fun if I had to censor some stuff.
@@KipReacts It feels like having 2 versions of Kip reacting at some points, just that 1 has already seen the video and is still powerless to stop what is about to happen. Very funny.
minimal effort
Lmao
In the middle eastern wedding video I just had the thought that not only is he firing up in the air risking people getting hit, he's ALSO spraying hot casings out at the people sitting around him.
17:54 thats Joel and Lia they are British CZcamsrs and this was their first visit to Texas, they know absolutely nothing about guns, the comment section on that video was all a bunch of Americans talking about gun safety. Specifically why what she did was so terrifying to us.
17:57 Shot through the Heart! and you're to blame! Baby you give guns, a bad name!
25:26 They prbably have THIS as their thought process, "It's broken, I have it, I have Tannerite, it will go boom really nicely."
As somebody who has shoulder-fired an M240B at a range in Afghanistan...*bruh.* Stop trying to look cool with a belt-fed platform.
Context: we were doing a half-assed weapons qualification, and after everyone finished it quickly turned into a "just shoot things" range day. M240B, a Mk19, M249 SAW, and even a ma-deuce. Pretty much everything we had.
We were out there for an hour just unloading into the mountainside. It was fun. =D
I've slept using my M4's stock as a pillow. Many times.
Never with the f'cking barrel, though. That's...that's just weird.
Oh god, I saw the original video of that British couple at the gun range and I have literally never felt more anxious.
Like, she could have widowed herself.
All I could think is how does she not realize it, and then I realized that they are not American. Obvious, but if you don't grow up around certain things you only see them in movies. They see them as props or toys. Not something that can kill them. And I am saying they don't know that intellectually, but there is a difference between knowing something because you have read or were told it vs knowing it to the bottom of your soul.
Still freaks me out.
I have a fun tanerite story. When I was about 12 or so I had a 22 ar15 my dad woukd teach me how to shoot with. I had an old piniata that we put a small amount of tanerite in and leaned it againist an old dishwasher. We we about 30 yards back and slightly elevated, shooting down. When I finally hit the tanerite, the explosian pushed the dishhwasher back and flipped it a couple times. Aparently the piniate turned the tanerite into a shaped charge and put all the energy into the dishwasher. No body got hurt and it was a very cool lesson in physics lop
That probably made your dad reread the warnings and double check the object(s)he uses as a backstop won’t become a danger to anyone.
The dishwasher basicly just slowly rolled over, in a way the pinate made the tanerirte safer, pushing the explosian away from us.
@@BryanWills-rx9dl glad it did it that way and not in a more dangerous situation.
Hey kip about the storing a mag with less than 30 rounds. That has been disproven about the spring pressure as it would take over 30 years of continuous compression for that spring strength to begin to wear out on a STANAG Mag. It was however a hold over from early gen 1 PMags and other polymer mags which could break or wear out the feed lips. Magpull fixed the Pmag real quick but the issue was around a while for other early polymer mags.It was also fixed for gen 2 PMAG's, Hexmags and most ploymer mag competitors and its now safe to store a full 30. That aside, May i ask why you store your uppers and lowers separately? Thats something i never heard and nothing I ever did when I was stuck in my Army units arm's room for a few months.
my philosophy is as follows: i'm not letting ""them"" win, i'm not going quietly
if the check out clerk wants me, it will have to come get me , and i will be fighting the whole way
31:28 Because, Kip, love him or hate him Trump has spawned some really good memes.
Tannerite isn't really meant to blow stuff up, you're supposed to put a small amount on small steel targets so you get a flash and pop when you hit them, if you get a boom, you used too much😅
Edit: with this proper use, you can be much closer because there isn't and shrapnel being created
I swear this one has the most idiots per video. Some of these issues don't even require gun training to know its a bad idea.
Kip seems to be giving youtube quite the benefit of the doubt when it comes to their firearms policies as if even without idiots, they wouldn't be extremely anti-2A.
Brandon taking his CZcams persona off is always jarring in a good way because he only does it for stuff like that last clip
Not a firearms expert, but an engineer. Just vibration can get stuff to unscrew and work itself loose. Vibration from a really rapid fire pistol like that could certainly vibrate a grip loose. Also it could just put a lot of wear on the threads and could strip the threads on the foregrip, especially with the addition of the heat from the barrel. Just some thoughts as an engineer looking at the design.. Would love feedback from actual gunsmiths if this is actually accurate or not.
The vibration is the main mechanism for gun accessories working loose. A picatinny rail is a dovetail with slots, and the bolt on the accessory will pass through a slot and into a nut on the other side of the dovetail. Most people use at least blue loctite to secure these bolts. Heat should not really be a factor at all unless someone mounts a pic rail directly on a barrel.

For what you were saying regarding dynamic target shooting: You can do clays for target acquisition. IPSC/IDPA may also be what you're looking for.
re: tightening accessories
I prefer the method of utilizing witness marks. Tighten down the stuff to satisfaction (using loctite as needed), then take a paint pen to draw a line across the screw/bolt and frame. That way you can tell when it starts to drift. Once you notice it drifting, re-torque to spec and draw in a new line.
I love watching Angry Cops, Brandon Herrera, and Donut Operator.
Oh my god can we get kip to watcg donut operator and angry cops. Those guys are a riot
I understand you fully Kip. I've been in the place before where I sat up long nights with someone to help them like that. I'm proud of you one human to another that you have done that for others. Not enough people in the world care about others anymore, let alone are willing to go out of their own way to help someone. The world needs more people like you, Brandon, and others out there that go that extra mile to educate and help others. We don't have enough good people, or common sense in this world anymore.

On deployment I cuddled with my m249 a good amount. Definitely a right/wrong way to do it with belt fed weapons
MMMMMM STEEL
i audibly gasped as soon as that dude tried to sling the M240 up, like, i FELT that gasp in my soul dude!
29:45 It's fucked up but man is it fitting in a dark way.
The people in these videos are the same sort of people that make the "for external use only" warning on hemorrhoid cream a legally mandated thing
I had a couple of range details while in Army basic training, got flagged a couple times with M16s back in 2003. Drill Sergeants freaked the fuck out every single time it happened, we on the detail just shrugged and kept doing the work. The idiots were thoroughly smoked. You'd be suprised how much it happened each training day.
23:37 thats gona be funny outa context
29:37 talked about mw2 a minute ago and this happens lol
Dude w/ the full auto Glock, unless (x to doubt) he got tax stamps, did a double felony of using a Glock Switch AND turning that Glock into an AOW (any other weapon) by adding that front grip on a hand gun.
ayo more darwin awards!!!
No, this isn't a 'Glock' thing. It's a 'plastic is very shitty' problem. An all-metal foregrip with a good quality grub screw is far less likely to have this problem.
The girl that accidentally pointed the gun at the guy's chest at the range they're Joel and Leah their CZcamsrs from the UK there not together and they got hell for this in there own video for that it's also y there was a range safety officer really close to them
29:36 That’s F’ed up, but hilarious.
Love the content I wish I could help more but I like and comment on every video. Also love your skelator reactions
"This blows my mind."
I see what you did there.
Judging by the Glock video, I'm assuming it was a picatinny vertical grip on a Glock rail. Glock rails and sometimes fit picatinny lights or other stuff because both are a dovetail based design. I'm assuming this grip just stilled off because the rail wasn't picatinny and had nothing to screw into.
23:30 cop: *poses for onlyguns video*
Kip: *dies inside*
23:20
kip becomes a more subdued version of the punisher dream sequence meme LMAO!!!
for the foregrip thing, it's a recoil vs ability to stop it thing running headfirst into the durability of the gun hardware. Basically, like any gun, you shock load the hardware whenever you fire. with an automatic, this is essentially a vibration at the pounds of force level. with something like a vector, agram, or a P90 (other guns where you put your front hand aggressively close to the end of the barrel on some varients) they either have a shoulder stock, or the foregrip is integrated and includes some form of thumb loop so you *can't* have the gun come loose of the front hand.
With a glock, if you haven't put a stock on it you've got none of that support for a small handle screwed onto a plastic rail. nylon is good, but it's still plastic. since you're pushing hard on the foregrip to hold the gun in place, when all that force is released the gun goes back and your hand goes forward. Most people's reaction is to clench both hands to get control of the gun, this pulls the recoil down with the trigger still pulled and the barrel lines up with the front hand that is now holding just a grip.
basically, don't get a full auto glock unless you are good for the ride without a foregrip. sure, it'll work fine for a while, but that's a lot of recoil for the intent of that rail. it's meant for a flashlight or a laser, not to stabilize the gun.
Dude, I completely agree with both Kip and Brandon on the intentional self delete clip. Absolutely not a teachable moment unlike the idiots accidentally breaking multiple rules of gun safety. That last clip was much heavier to be honest. Also as someone who has had a family member that has punched their own ticket, that subject matter definitely hits me much harder than people who haven’t had to deal with that. I too have had morbid thoughts, but luckily had the inner strength to not give in to that. Not everyone is lucky in that regard, so please take the time to make sure that people that you care about stay safe and well. Last thing I want to hear about is someone getting the big sleep for themselves intentionally.

i can't say too much, but it goes to show that mental health is a global thing, its not just a US thing. some people can say "oh suicides only happen in the US and japan" but its a global thing, and it should be respected as well.

Gun Safety Commandments
1: Treat *EVERY* weapon as if it *IS* loaded!
2: *NEVER* point a weapon at *ANYTHING* you are *NOT* willing to destroy!
3: Keep *AWAY FROM* the firing mechanism until you are *100%* ready to shoot.
4: *KNOW* your target *AND* what is *BEHIND IT*!
*NO EXCEPTIONS!*
Hey Kip, use the Blue Loctite and your accessories will not come loose.
Coward, use the red locktite
Loctite on something you never want to move again only. A previous owner of a M1 carbine I bought used it on the sites. For an M1 it grouped nicely. Unfortunately that group was 3-4 feet at 10 o'clock at 100 yards with no easy way to fix it.
Eventually fixed it. But, in a fit of stupidity, almost destroyed my house doing so.
I specifically stated Blue Loctite… It sounds like you used the Red Loctite, which is not intended to ever be removed. Blue allows you to remove parts.

25:30 maybe they’re frustrated. The damn thing broke and now has to get a new one anyway, so might as well take some frustration out on the thing by destroying it?
This video gives me anxiety from the day I was eligible to handle guns my pops taught me how to safe and these careless people make me yell
Not a glock issue per se, it's more a physics issue. Anything that can come unscrewed due to vibrations WILL come unscrewed due to vibrations. It's just a matter of time. Murphy's Law of Mechanical Fasteners, if you will.
Now, if you were talking about things breaking and not just coming undone, that's a different issue, and likely due to materials used. Also at 12:16 I don't understand how people don't know that "if you're messing with a potentially loaded firearm, put the safety on". Like, it won't always save you, but it's another layer of protection. Of course, if like you said you can't put the safety on for what you're trying to do, don't point the bang stick at the other monkeys! Simple!
Also also, 29:34 don't worry, we've all been warped by the internet. We're all booking flights going south with you.
Lastly, thanks for being you Kip. I've been in your position as the "counselor" friend. I've been the guy on the other end of those 3am phone calls a couple times too. It's not pretty either way, but I appreciate the people that choose to take time out of their day to help.
Regarding the ending, as someone who has on more than one occasion almost "punched their own ticket", yes it is as Brandon and Kip say. There are people who care for you. And do check up on your loved ones.
32:11 omg. Is that the sound of the gun dropping or his gray matter splattering? Thats f'ed up.
Unfortunately the answer is yes.
Ah a AR brother i agree with tightly make sure your stuff is tighten i also have a ar but i tend to use lock tight to keep them in place i break it and apply it again every month (depending on how often i shoot)
I don't get why people get so lax around firearms, they should know what they're handling are not toys. I've never handled a firearm before, but if I ever did, I would start with something small, and be sure to be with a trained professional when handling it and in a controlled environment.
I also in part would not entirely trust myself with a firearm, in part due to what Brandon referred to at the end of the video, it's something I've been struggling with for a while and am trying to get help.
Familiarity can breed contempt. "I've handled firearms and not gotten hurt for five years, of course I can't get hurt by them." People who do know better ignore their knowledge.
on the topic of the last clip:
i think the worst part about the "self checkout line" is the fact that there is no good way to do it. the people who want to do it will find a way but unfortunately the ways they find are horrific for everyone involved and i think its absolutely inhumane the way we treat the issue, im of the opinion that everyone has the right to end their own existence for whatever reason, however as i said its a shame that all the ways to do it yourself involve loads and loads of trauma, at the very list for the poor fucker who has to find you a couple of minutes later or at the worst days, weeks, months later, in some cases its awfully traumatizing to people around them, like in the case of jumping of a building, infront of a car/train/whatever etc instead of laying in a hospital bed with the people you care for around you as you pass away peacefully they have to discover your usually half decomposed body. even places like switzerland with "legal" euthanazia are messed up imo firstly why do i have to be terminally ill to get the OPTION to go out peacefully on my own terms? secondly, even if i am terminally ill i have to pay a shit ton of cash as a member payment? so if im a poor motherfucker im just fucked? sounds awesome...
making the "self check out line" such a taboo topic doesnt prevent it from happening... it just makes them alot more horific for everyone, if it was fully legal like "here's a bed, lay down, i as a professional nurse will set your IV then you can just hit this here button and the drugs will enter your system, within 5 minutes you will fall asleep and that will be that" i would probably have done it by now but the way it is im afraid and i dont wanna inflict that traume on some poor motherfucker who has to find me
Imagine being for self deletion. Absolutely immoral behavior. Besides, have you not heard of the Hippocratic oath? No doctor or any medical professional should be helping people self delete themselves. Clearly you're not religious either, because you would absolutely be against self deletion.
How anyone supports things like this is beyond me.
As an englishman i am incredibly dissapointed in the knowledge base of some of my contrymen
8:39 you might want to say just kidding about installing a VFG on a Pistola unless you form 1'd it
I'm slightly embarrassed to admit I had a small accidental discharge the other day. I was examining my grandpa's old shotgun and after operating the pump I somehow didn't notice that it was loaded and blasted a hole in my floor about the size of a dime. Luckily nothing but the floor and my pride was wounded but I felt the heat coming off the blast near my foot.
I am now extremely aware of it's loaded status and am going to check the magazine tube much more carefully from now on. We recently suffered a home invasion and attempted murder a few days ago and this old Winchester 1200 is going to be my defense weapon if it happens again.
Also doesn't help that there was a shower of hot brass in that wedding video potentially hitting other guests.
19:50 Is she putting the magazine into the grip the wrong way around? Looks like the bullets are pointing backwards. Ôo
31:45 Erm ... well ...
I understand being safe, but people who are overly safty oriented piss me off when im around them. I hate the idea that if i hand an unloaded gun to them that they check it again. That makes me think the person is calling me a liar or it makes me think that they think i dont know anything about it.
8:57 vibrations back screws out ALL THE TIME, its one of the reasons you will see locktight on screw/that little blue, red, or pink goop. that SHOULD give the screw enough of a bond to not back itself out, hell I know aviation engines have bolts in them with holes because they have to run wire through them so they don't back out and this thing is shooting at, granted a low rpm for an engine but engine level rpms. its less a matter of can it fail, and more a matter of when will it fail. there is probably safe ways to do this with an attachment like that, but the thing is, if you are trying to counter recoil and that front fails, human reaction time is around 100-350 ms, 100 being if you know its going to happen and are trying your best to do something the moment it happens, 250 is about average for when you know something fucked up, but how fast would you realize something fucked up? you will likely shoot 3 rounds before you have a chance of stopping, and the way you are compensating for recoil there is a damn good chance of shooting yourself.
25:39 most people will never understand how far away shrapnel is deadly, and hey, I am glad that we are so safe that we largely don't know that, but tell me that you were never once thought of filling a printer up with an explosive just because of how much its failed and pissed you off, or a copier (see office space), im honestly at the point of taking a hammer to our homes thermostat because of how much of a piece of shit it is and actively pisses me off.
Kip talking about gun safety in videos has made me want to go to the range with him.
I'm curious if I can be _so_ careful that even *he* would think it's a little much

23:47 the title of the article says Joburg's dumbest policeman? Joburg is short for Johannesburg a major city in South Africa. (where I'm from and grew up)
Basically every level of government is both corrupt and incompetent, I highly doubt that the South African police and, Joburg especially, get safety training more that once ever, if at all. The money for that training would have been embezzled if it where ever allotted in the first place.
Just be sure that whole three racking thing you say in every gun video doesn't become ritualistic because that is the slippery slope to unwitting complacency and complacency is how that guy that had been handling firearms without incident for 60 years suddenly found himself down one hand. Complacency is a slow and insidious destructive force.
Yeah, that's a given.
Don't know if anyone commented yet about the kids in the background of the washing machine part
The trigger was depressed .
Sad trigger.
Firearms are an awful method of self deletion. Not awful morally, but awful in terms of efficiency. Do you have any idea how many people have survived horrific gunshot wounds throughout history? Do you really want to risk fucking it up and surviving the attempt with permanent disfiguration, making your already horrible life even worse? On top of that, it's heavily restricted to obtain one. They're also expensive.
We've all seen the suicide prevention stuff. I suggest its use. However, if you STILL decide to exit life even after all of the assistance available for you, for the love of all that's good... don't choose guns to make your exit. Guns suck as a method. Guns are for stopping other beings, not yourself, and thus suck at ending the user, because people tend to just stop functioning when injured, preventing further action to turn the injury into the exit you wanted. Guns are also loud, so your failed attempt will be alerted to all around you, and medical personnel will be called, guaranteeing the failure of the attempt. So... pick a different method.
Alternatively, get mad at the world and live on to spite the world that ground you down. Sometimes, you cannot draw a line right from sadness and depression to happiness. Taking a circuitous route through a different emotion can help. I used anger to claw my way out of the pit, and from anger, then moved to a general happy state. Be careful not to get lost in the method you are taking to escape the previous emotion you got lost in, though.

5:20 part of the reason people do this is because its a little unintuitive that a falling bullets terminal velocity is enough to cause damage, i wouldnt do this anyway, but until i saw the stats behind it, i would have assumed getting hit by a falling bullet would be like getting hit by a nerf dart at worst

Brother sleeps on a Shotgun with the baral in his face. What pulls the trigger?
Most shotguns don't have a drop safety or something that prevents the striker or hammer from releasing when the trigger is not depressed. They just have a crossbolt or other trigger block safety. This is why you see shotguns go off sometimes when they fall over.
Why are the words suicide and genocide not allowed on youtube? Are other types of cide not allowed or is it just the two? There are regicide, fratricide, domesticide, patricide etc.
