I was 13...amazing, i sat with my dear mum and nan watching Corrie..time is a thief., thank you for wonderful memories.
" I don't think she's pretending. I think she's ALWAYS been Queen Elizabeth dressed up as Annie Walker!" 😂😂😂
Doesn't she look lovely in the costume. Ee by gum
Many a true word spoken in jest!🥰
Similar to what she wore in 1977 for the silver jubilee parade.
Ena was a force to be contended with. Hard as steel but a heart of gold when she felt like it.
Caroline G I really like her, you would definitely want her in your corner! X
Valerie was so much lovelier than Ken's other wives, and he never even mentions her.
She was mentioned earlier this year by Ken and Peter on the 50th anniversary of her death but I agree she has rarely been mentioned, when people think of Ken's wife its almost always Deirdre.
@@murphy9039 Yes, I saw it and nearly fell out of my chair!
This is because of stupid amateur writer’s who can’t keep continuity for their lives and love ignoring the past.
@@andyrob3259 Agreed - plus of course there's the fact that they can't write at all!
Yes. She's cute. Don't remember her. Great to see her and Kens brother David.
Finding this is a highlight of my Christmas. I would have been 7. These characters have been indelibly stamped in my memory. Elsie, the original MILF. But any scene with Minnie Caldwell makes my heart glow. All the references, batman, stones, man utd, the films, made you feel at the time you were somehow there rather than watching.
Elsie Tanner as a Spanish flamenco dancer. Has there ever been anything more glamorous on TV?
Lucille Hewitt I think looks loads like Angie Freeman (Deborah McAndrew) who was in Corrie in the 90s. I wonder if they distantly related, they just seem so alike in how they look, talk and mannerisms.
5 days before I was born. 😊
Lovely episode
I'm time traveling through coronation street like friggin doctor who
Ha Ha love it! Could you imagine if Ken said that line today? "I'm feelin' a bit panzy as it is"
This episode had a lot of cultural references of the time in it.
If you’re going as Father Christmas, Albert, I’d avoid saying “Oh well, it’s as far away as ever now.”
The grumpy old git playing Father Christmas is a lost English tradition. They actually sound like grey enjoy saying "ho ho ho" these days. Disgraceful.
Batman! '66 is the year it came onto tellies!
Came out on January 12,1966 here in American 📺
@@danrobinson572 same in Canada!
Elsie Tanner. Wow!
Ken looks a right Charlie!🤣 and Len and Jerry 🤣🤣🤣
Lucille was of the time at that point - like a back street Lulu
She was such a cutie. Xxx
I was thinking she was like a Dr Who companion of the time, dressed like that.
11:37 The dynamic duo😂❤😂❤😂
Spot the boom mike in the last scene
c ma hee hee hee
Also it appears at 14.12
Oh so they dress up as different characters at Christmas time. We dress as characters on Halloween in October 🇺🇲🎃
Lucille refers to Mary Poppins. Was that where the chimney sweeps sang 'Over the Rooftops?' I saw that in last year's EastEnders Children in Need.
March Over the Rooftops, aka Chim Chim Cher-ee.
Poor Vera Lomax
Mr 7 up himself Michael Apted directing
20:26 Why are we waiting🎶🎵?🎵🎵 Why are we waiting oh why oh why?🎵🎶😂❤😂❤😂
"you don't need to dress up...you look horrible as you are?2
Did they ever let Ena put her hair down and done nice?
Imagine ena and Tracey Barlow
Ena babysat Tracey when she was a baby. She stood on one her toys, fell and knocked herself out and ended up in hospital.
Tracey's violent ways started very early!!! Lol
anyone else got this off TikTok?
LifeasKayla 54 me
Where were myra booth now
Think she and Jerry had divorced, because she just wasted money and was, basically, spoilt.
I know this was near Vera's death. Did Ena know Vera was dying at this point?
I think so--her hand to her face in one scene.
Ena knew, Vera didn't.
@@ysgol3 I think Vera should’ve been the first to know ( and I think today she would be). I wouldn’t like it being kept from me if others knew I was dying.
@alexanderjones9572 They make a clinical decision based on how they think the person would react. Everyone is different. I wouldn't want to be the one who decides.
@connied2451 Great acting from Violet Carson. I don't know if it was ever mentioned in the show, but the character was supposed to have lost at least two children in infancy. "This is a woman who has buried her children, seen her husband begging for work, yet still gets down on her knees every night and prays to God."
Don't know how Ken Barlow lasted 50 years in the series..A useless cardboard cutout..Hopeless actor..
