the kid in me still finds this stuff neat..and i never have driven anything larger than a riding lawn mower...i do have high regard for the tough job of loggers and the heavy duty equipement..am sure many of us scream restore these..but no idea of cost and logistics...thanks for the video..i watch Skadil is how i found your video..
Its cool finding old stuff like that. In Actaeon Sound I found two very old trucks in the bush. They had wooden spokes for rims and the old crank at the front to start them. Not too sure what kind they were. Then about ten minute walk up an old trail following some rail road tracks was a fully intact steam donkey. Cool video. Thanks for sharing
Take a hot battery, some fresh fuel and a can of either and the "bus motor" would run again. The Cummins might need a little more. Really like the old stuff. Hate to see it go to the torch bit it's too far for me to come get it. Keep it up. You're doing a great job! (me)
Wicked equipment! Love the W9. Always had a soft spot for Boneshaker loaders. I presume they'll be Kia's soon enough. Sad. Forestry should let them rest with dignity. They served for the man. A little respect here.
you know some of your videos just drive me nuts. I caint stand seeing some of these old rigs in the forest like that and that mister is an old kw, you can tell by the top of the curved rad cover - acchh....makes my stomach turn. Would love to restore an old kw like that one. and that's what drives me nuts - would love to restore something like that - so far away dammit. keep up the frustrating (good) videos....you...you...! *Sigh*
The entire B.C. coast is full of abandoned logging equipment. It’s hugely prohibitive to even get into these places due to cost. A barge move out of here would be $25,000 for a charter for a few days. So the iron sits, unless the govt forces things.
Good one! Looks like the iron has been there a long time. Barged out a lot of that old stuff way back when... There was a push on by forest service to clean up the junk iron. We moved several thousand tons to scrap from central coast alone to Vancouver.
Thanks Larry, yep BCFS-BCTS wants this old shit gone. And so they should. Nobody should be abandoning stuff like this. Thought you would like this. Just wait for part 2 of this video. This is located at 7km on the Jennis Main.
Wow. I just happened upon your channel, along with a few others just like yours. i never realized so much equipment left behind all over. Any way nice videos
buckets over the exaust pipe's tells me they where parked running most likely for the winter and spring start-up came and went, someone start them up lots of hours work in them still i'll bet.
Shame all those trucks are just left, if there was somewhere like that over here in the UK I'd sure get one bought and get it restored Cheers Chris in UK
Why did the government of BC move that equipment out of there while it was still in good condition and sell it or the logging company could have auctioned it off early on.?
No effort was made by the equipment owners to clean up this mess, which is located in a very remote spot on BC coast. The government also has major helicopter logging plans for this location, and it was internally decided to put the scrap salvage and new log dewater location build in one contract to put the barging into as few moves as possible. Huaskin Lake is a 18-25 hour barge move from Vancouver Island. Hope I answered your comment ok!
No, that's not us. So is it a lock-block construction? Or a long ramp that a wheeled loader drives down to retrieve the wood? I don't understand what structure will be built for a dewatering location.
It'll actually be a really wide and very flared tight face log crib with a Hoe Chucker to pluck the logs out and deck it. We previously did a ramp for a Skidder to pull the logs out on another site, but that's too environmentally unfriendly these days.
Thanks for the tour of the American Heal Boom Line Loader, 672 Detroit, Knee Throttle, Bi Valve Main and Holding, didn't see a Swing/Travel Stick with a Tag Line button on top. I'm thinking 750 American. Looking at the Boom and Snorkel mount it might be a Mantel Boom? Most likely a Young than a Mantel Grapple. Can You tell I spent more than a few years of My youth in the late 60's to mid 70's Swinging Line Grapples?
I think the flatbed is a hayes. We have an original hayes dump truck at work and it looks identical. Im pretty sure the pacific trucks had round front bumpers as well.
I have a bunch of old equipment. I hope this doesn't happen when I get old. One young operator got on my D7G to move it said took him 10 mins to figure out how to run it. I couldn't believe it.
You’ll have to get onto Young Worker equipment training and use them. Not his fault he’s running a 35 year old dozer and he’s 19. Have him mentor under your knowledge and show him. If you’ve never learned how can you be expected to perform.
Man Jonathan that is sad that people just abandon machinery like that instead of decommissioning it properly. Very neat though when you do find stuff like that.
Thanks, Albert, I always love seeing your comments over here. Wait until you see part 2 to this video. It`s frankly quite a mess. It should be cleaned up and the owners penalized. Guys like this make the logging industry look bad, and we don`t need any more bad P.R. It kind of pissed me off to see this operation for the first time.
Yes, that's correct Troy. They had the water salvage logging rights to Huaskin Lake some time ago, and walked away from everything. Thanks for your comment.
Tax me I'm Canadian ok. thanks for posting the videos, cool old stuff. Their place in Langley looks very similar to that site, old equipment and stuff everywhere. I think skadill has videos of the hoard, ive been there myself its pretty unreal the amount of old equipment they have rotting away
Well, hear it is 10 / 2017 What happened to all this equipment ? Is it still sitting there ? It looks like that front end loader with some work could be fired up and driven out of there.
I'll never understand why company's leave equipment, that's just plain ignorant, and almost every comment agrees they will takem, and I agree my compliments sir
This junk left on a barge years ago. People talk shit on CZcams but nobody understands the $50,000 barge bill to get it out. That’s why the government cut the cheque. Everyone talks shit until they have to write a cheque. Same old story for 99% of these comments.
I have a question about that Kenworth logging truck: The rear 2-axle part that is stashed in the back of the truck; what is that called, and how do they load it up there?
You would have to get a junk title in the states. They repair it to pass state inspection before youcould license it. Plus any previous owner or lien holder can claim it. Check that out before investing time and money. I learned the hard way. Got dozer skidded to running a friends uncle gave me off farm he bought. 15 years later they needed it. lol

Zonde dat het zo verloederd bijstaat is iets moois van te maken prachtig top. Ook de shoofel
alway comming across abandoned logging equipment here in Northern Ontario. while dirtbiking or exploring like you on back roads with 4x4

@@gangesexcavating thats such a shame, heartbreaking really...
Good thing they put a bucket over the exhaust so it wouldn’t rust lol
Outstanding ! we are heading to part two now,Cheers !
Someone aught to bring the W9 back to life, it's a classic
This truck almost resemble the famous truck from the 1972 film "Duel", which that truck was a Peterbilt.
I'm surprised they didn't deliver these sweet previously owned rigs right to my front door.......because like......I'm not that hard to find.
Few more years and it will be a heritage resource

it would be interesting to hear more of the Gerald and Robert tap story
buckets over the exaust pipe's tells me they where parked running most likely for the winter and spring start-up came and went, someone start them up lots of hours work in them still i'll bet.
I see you something about old trucks. Most people don't remember the old 6-4's. I would guess the engines stuck, maybe not.
do they start? heavy equipment is usually pretty tough.
Sadly symbolic of the BC forest industry itself these days
I really like the kenworth log truck I might have it for when I come over to Canada to work when I'm 16
Canada ends at Alberta
Shame all those trucks are just left, if there was somewhere like that over here in the UK I'd sure get one bought and get it restored
Cheers Chris in UK
Wow cool video man.
Shame it was scrapped. That old stuff would still work today if not left out to pasture

Tax me I'm Canadian so is the stuff still there I hope
I designed a log reload at Huaskin. It's scheduled to be built this year.
I knew that. I talk about that in video 2.
Neat. You get the contract?
No, that's not us. So is it a lock-block construction? Or a long ramp that a wheeled loader drives down to retrieve the wood? I don't understand what structure will be built for a dewatering location.

cool find!

soldierofdirt81 I don't understand how you find it sad , for I find it more sad that they'd be decommissioned and scrapped
fire them up and take them home the owners must not want them!!
could you go back there and see if anything is left just as an update video so all of us can see if they actually moved the equipment or not
Remembrr that x files with the logging crew ?
Somebody has to take this stuff home.
good friend I love logon
I wanted to see big foot running by.
I liked the Hough front loader I hope it found a good home or did it wind up being scrapped too
Shame we live in such a wasteful society! :'(
If I had the trucks to, I'd go get all of it and bring it down here and bring it back to life.
B
Like to have old trucks or equipment.to restore
Some complete moron gave you a thumbs down!!!! I'll compensate by thumping the "up" button.
:o id hella take that kenworth! its pretty awesome lol well needs some TLC but its still awesome in my opinion lol
Tapp brothers as in Gerald and Robert Tapp from aldergrove?
Yes, that's correct Troy. They had the water salvage logging rights to Huaskin Lake some time ago, and walked away from everything. Thanks for your comment.

I know Gerald and Robert from Aldergrove!
Salvag value of that stuff would still worth some bank
Ghost's from the past, final rest.
That is so sad. Why would anyone just walk away and leave it.
Well, hear it is 10 / 2017 What happened to all this equipment ? Is it still sitting there ?
It looks like that front end loader with some work could be fired up and driven out of there.
Awesome I'm a Canadian to. I'm from Ontario.

`with the log loader at the dump end of the haul.
I wanna see this stuff in person also if it runs take them home
can anyone just keep it or what how do it work if it bin there for a long time
You would have to get a junk title in the states. They repair it to pass state inspection before youcould license it. Plus any previous owner or lien holder can claim it. Check that out before investing time and money. I learned the hard way. Got dozer skidded to running a friends uncle gave me off farm he bought. 15 years later they needed it. lol
what a waste of equipment!
Probably wouldn't take a whole lot to get them to fire up
So? Are these companies Bonded so that if they abandon equipment and go broke there is someone to pat for cleanup?
Back in the 1960s-early 1980s there wasnt any bond or security deposit in place.
did you get to scrap it? or someone else?
Fucking shame that they were scrapped
are the old trucks still there and can the w900 be got
Phillip West n
Yhc
is all this equipment still here?
Are any of the ken worthy for sale. They would be good resto projects . Build one out of both .
Cut up into scrap 3 months ago.
That sucks. I would have loved to own the older one with the 8 cummins.
Why did the owner leave them there abandoned ?? :O
Hope someone throws it on a wrecker and restores it, I love old logging trucks
I would have loved to own them
donny southwell same
I'd even keep them mossy and rusty
I'll buy that loader the other stuff is hosed
its worth a lot of money, just in scrap metal..
Any idea what diffs are under that "military flat deck"?
Photo de profile !!!
How long has that stuff been sitting?
Robert Clark since it was left there.
Quelle année ?
what is the genis main line
Anything I wouldn't do to get them out of there so sad
umm bc is british columbia,canada
You should have brought some batteries and tried to fire them up, if you wanted to make a real good video that is. Maybe I'll do it!
Why did they abandon all this equipment?
2:16 "Still holding air". Maybe, but more likely water.
What's you talking about ah
That's an awful lot of money to drag one of those home..........
Not too smart not just auctioning it off way back years ago. 10 cents on the dollar would be better than this.
This is what happens when u win the lottery. You just forget everything you r doing , load up , and move to Beverly Hills Californee!!!!
Y
net CZcams
The company on the door should be ticketed for littering!!!
Well, that’s not the company then. These are all auction buys. But thanks for watching.
