apologies for the sun in the screen at the start. Axis brought out the new Cypress operating software, which is tablet driven, touch screen. Bluetooth connected to the processor head. Great looking exhibits from Jason Leroy at Profab Chemainus. Island Pacific Logging is currently upgrading trucks in the fleet, and Profab sent one up to Kamloops. Great to see Lyle Newton investing serious hard dollars into South Vancouver Island logging industry. Also a great view of the new Vanguard loader. Profab has taken over production and sales for Vanguard. Best truck log loader ever! ...

Took a day to visit ILA exhibition in Kamloops a week or so ago. Toured the new Eltec equipment. Beautiful new quality built French-Canadian built. Unfortunately the dealer is Woodland Equipment of interior BC....no interest in a Vancouver Island branch. . Refuses to open any true Vancouver Island branch. They miss out completely on the coast. So Eltec has zero or few machines in BC Coastal log...

Waratah 623C 3/4 main saw serviceability comments

Just some thoughts about the operation of the new 3/4 saw on the 623C. I think the Rebel X25 3/4 saw that Axis Kamloops makes, is still a superior design, however. Still, I love all products Waratah. Constantly improving designs everyday for the 21st century logger. Amazing product that you truly can make a living with.

I drove this truck in Pt McNeill for WFP. Now hear this, 850 Kenworth with an 18spd, tightest frontend you'll ever find. the majority of the load is Cedar, i'll guess the load weighs 85 tons. That v12 jimmy was tired when i drove it. She spent time in Holberg too. I enjoyed driving her, thanks for posting.

It's a kenworth they basically built the same pattern trucks
Hayes was bought out by Kenworth in the early 70s and closed by them, so yeah, a lot. I believe Kenworth also bought Pacific in the 80s or something, they've definitely got the same cabs.
That's actually a schoolbus. I know because it's yellow and I drove one in a video game once. The game was called Schoolrunner.

@@thedogethatgames Snowrunners a great game, but Its very much not a p16. You can tell right off the bat by the grill bars. The top bar is thinner than that of a p16 because the p16 had the "Pacific" name scibbled on the top bar so it had to be thicker. Pacific, Hayes, and Kenworth were REALLY similar in those days as these specific heavy duty logging trucks looked very similar. Kenwroth 850, P16 and Hayes HDX look similar on the whole, but its the small things you gotta watch for.
You should go back this summer and do a update on what's still there

Just goes to show that guys who play video games are smarter than guys who work in the bush. ha ha ha. (roll eyes) I like them all, the Challenger, the Hayes, the Kenworth and the Pacific, great "lumbering" monsters coming down steep grades with steam rolling off the brake drums stacked to the sky with logs, what a sight to see.

Look like a Pacific truck
Pacific, Kenwroth, and Hayes are just some of the old school heavy logging truck brands. They look so similar as that was the type of design that was sought after for logging in the bush. Very sturdy trucks.
