Short Milk and Fruit Van Train on the MSWJR Line 1923

- One of the characteristic features of the consolidation in 1923 of the many independent railway companies into the enlarged GWR and the newly formed
Southern, London Midland & Scottish and London & North Easter Railways was
the persistence of the often colourful and occasionally ornate liveries of the old
companies throughout much of the 1920s.
This tendency is a particular feature of the short milk and fruit van train that we
show running on our MSWJR route in the Vale Scene and in which much of the
formation comprises typically elderly vans in the colours of the “old companies”.
what a name? Milk and Fruit Van, I Love it 💙💙😃😃🎵🎵✔✔
Thanks for watching, we are pleased you like it.
It’s like neo-classical art, but done in 3D, and with moving parts.
@spankflaps1365, thank you for your comment, we are pleased you enjoyed this video.
I love these shorts! It's so good to see the trains set in the scenery which is so deep and realistic. The information given is fascinating. When my GWR layout finally gets to the build stage, this layout will be an inspiration. 👍🙏

@@PendonMuseumVideos Hi Working my way through the channel and on my wishlist to visit the layout & museum.
Enjoy your tour of our channel and we hope to welcome you to the museum in person one day.
Interesting history . I guess this lovely little engine was hand made as are the coaches. Ever so nicely detailed and exquisite paint job. Thanks for sharing ! Cheers, Filip
Many thanks for watching Filip. Yes, everything you see is handmade and on show in the museum.
i would love to scratch build a 2-4-0, probably one of the last GW 'Barnums'...they lasted quite a while. I would have to fill it with lead to get it to pull anything.
John, great to hear that our video has inspired you - Happy modelling!
Molto ben fatto, un plastico ferroviario che ha alcuni dettagli raffinati propri di un diorama, complimenti!
Grazie mille. Siamo molto contenti che ti piacciano i nostri video.
Agree with John . It would have been nice to have seen it running a bit more. It is a superb train nevertheless rgds
Many thanks Graham for your kind comment and your thoughts for future videos is very much noted. Thanks for watching.
I like this "bit sized" presentation and found the content interesting. I am particularly interested in Southern Railway (and also GWR). This mixture of SR and their inherited stock is historically interesting.
Jeremy, it’s great to hear you enjoyed this video. We try show a variety of trains that travelled through The Vale of White Horse through the 1930s and hopefully the eclectic collection appeals to our friends and subscribers who cannot visit our museum in person. More to come….
Great Video guys. Never knew the MSWJR Became part of the GWR. Can't wait to see more content. =)
Many thanks for your kind comment, we will keep them coming. Don’t forget if you would like more content that is not on CZcams, you can access that here: pendonmuseum.com/youtube
I remember their offices at the old Swindon Town station. It was a line much used during the last German war, as one could tell by the cheap fletton brick signalboxes.
Love it
Very pleased you liked that one. It’s great to get feedback to enable us to produce videos that appeal to our online supporters, many of whom cannot visit the museum in person.
It would be good to see a short programme devoted to train movements over the MSWJ section at Pendon. Maybe later?
Many thanks for your feedback Roy. We hope you have enjoyed this video and ‘watch this space’ as they say….
It would have been nice to see a bit more of the train moving
Many thanks for for watching and for your comment John. We will definitely bear this in mind for future productions. We hope you are enjoying this series of videos.
