A super informative bike fit Tues. on a Tuesday. I've been wondering the exact questions about reach, bar width and wrist rotation. I'm going to have to pay attention more on how ofter I move off the hoods and why (usually when tired).
I think I need to add a snarky tubeless comment for no reason whatsoever. You can do a bike fit that requires multivariate calculus with a broke-ass imperial unit ruler and a crayon, but can't do a tubeless conversion? :)

Woohoo -- Glacier Point is amaze-balls! And speaking of vegan cyclist, for a treat you should make a window seat reservation at Greens restaurant on Fort Mason pier in SF when you get there. The food is good and the view is astounding. For non-gas-station coffee, go to Four Barrel and for breakfasty food, Tartine Bakery for bowls of latte and such. It's proof that someone loves you.

Glacier Point is my favorite place on the planet! Hope my ashes are blown around there when my days are over. I am glad you guys are out of the desert! Have fun over next few days. Watch out sunken manhole covers in Oakland, especially if you guys go up into the hills. The closest I ever come to dying on a bike was hitting a sunken manhole off of Tunnel Road going 40 mph.

I bought a 54cm bike that came with a 120mm stem.
Why do bike producers put such long stems on new bikes?
Also, even though the bike shop offers a bike fit with purchase, they're unwilling to swap out any parts. Stem, Cranks etc...
Or, cut down the steerer tube and seatpost.
Find a new bike shop, decent bike shops will swap out parts for a fee and be flexible for their customers. Enjoy the new bike.
Ian Woodcock I'm sure they would have sold me other parts and charged $12 an hour to install them. Cutting parts to fit or save weight would have cost the same in labor. And, it's $12 an hour. Or any part of an hour. That means if it takes only 5 mins. you pay for a full hour.
My point is why can't they sell me a new bike that fits for the price of a new bike?
Agree with you, I always think that the frame is the foundation on which to build upon, the finishing kit should have a range of options at no cost, to enable a personal fit. :-)
bullwhip johnson 55 is a size that us produced at a greater volume.so they hopevtobgetbthe person that should be buying a 56cm. It's a common thing just now to put it all down to a stem length. A 110 stem should be what you're looking for everyday. The amount if times I've been in a.bike store and seen a sales person throwing up he swap the stem out story is mind blowing.overly long stems are fine for pro riders in.flat straight stages.
