19:00 Outer God of Rot: Ladies... don't fight over me!
Romina may not be the biggest or flashiest boss in the DLC, but her fight is just GOOD. No gimmicks, no endless combos, no random bs like waterfowl dance. Just a well designed, challenging, and over all balanced fight. And can we talk about how unique and stunning her design is? Love the color palette.
I did not want to kill her because she was so beautiful. And yes, Miyazaki is getting crazy about these flashy, powerful, but ultimately unsatisfying bosses. Romina is a splendid exception. Her fights lets you rely on instinct and you get to dance with her, unlike Morgott and his TERRIBLE DELAY ATTACKS. Radagon was the only, the ONLY boss I enjoyed fighting, but Romina now holds second place.
nah she was too easy, I beat her on my second try. I think her attacks are way to telegraphed

It's a crime that she doesn't have a single voice line or a cutscene
They probably thought their majority male fanbase wouldn't care too much about such a "girly" boss. Like even her sword swings are the more vibrant display of pink we've ever seen on a character. Which is awesome.

By far one of the more succsesful and majestic battles from the Elden Beast
It would have won if it had choose to use long-range attacks at 28:10 instead of making that explosion.

Romina's collision pushed her into rocks in the middle of it, so must've caused the attack to bug out. Not sure if players can interrupt it in the same way.
The other boss pushed her into the terrain wall and the game forced her to perform her "landing" animation when she hit the invisible wall. It also triggers if you get attacked while airborn.
Ever seen an enemy trip over a single stair or had your character trip and take a long time to stand up over a small rock? It's the same thing here. But only other bosses can do this to Malenia, we have no way of pushing her as players.
@@777Electric well that's a pretty shitty bug and to be honest that fight was weird, like shouldn't malenia's ai be programmed to use second aeonia at a 40 or below 40%hp?
@@user-fg6xg5fd4v she kinda is, but her AI bugs and/or reset pretty often when she fights, you can see this cause she get aggressive and right after she turns sweet and repeat.

2nd dlc boss to defeat Malenia. Good fucking job. Can believe a crippled dragon and an insect waifu defeated Malenia.

@@Artem-eu3uv idk man, there are many great soundtracks, but I don't remember when I've heard a music in video game that addicted me to the point I have to listen it at least few times every day. Probably my new favourite soundtrack in Soulsborne.

@@Artem-eu3uv yeah, that's how things work. Most of rankings or opinions on elements of games are subjective. For example Gael being considered as the best Boss in Soulsborne is also just a taste, but applies to huge group of players.

This thing has way, way more than 35k HP. I do that in a few swings and buddy it takes more than a few.
At New Game (first journey) she has around 36k HP.

why did Malenia become a flower but this lady a centipede??
Because the whole 'flower and butterflies' association of the Scarlet Rot was invented by Romina. Before Romina, Rot was more associated with insects and scorpions, but Romina created the 'scarlet rot' and made it look like a gift to ease its spreading.

Wouldn’t it be better to put them all in ng+7 status? That way the stats would be a little more balanced between them without messing with the values arbitrarily. Although I love getting the ng power scale I think that as a comparison is not that compelling for early bosses to get absolutely shredded 🤨

The Elden Beast could have won that fight if it didn't waste time by making that nuke from afar at 28:10.

Damn Maliketh ain't top 5 anymore
She has 7x his health. He did almost nothing in his first phase (as usual:) and managed to bring her down to a quarter of her health. Still, if he had done anything other than that roar at the end, he probably would have killed her.
Not to mention, the DLC bosses are much stronger because of the Scadutree fragments we take. I don’t think the outcome would be the same if they had equal scaling.
A full health bar version of straight up Maliketh without a Beast Clegyman first form would be top 5. I get that boss has 2 forms, but the differences between the 2 are immense in my experience of playthroughs.
@@jmills5806 Beast Clergyman is a lot harder to fight, he is more aggressive and faster, his moveset is more tricky, but he deals much less damage than Maliketh, which is why he is not effective in BvB fights.
this is kinda stupid. the DLC bosses are way stronger than the main bosses. if you dont scale them up its obvious who will win. still entertaining tho.
I sense a bit of boss tweaking going on. she is NOT this tough in game. I mean, in other vids, Malenia takes out Consort Radahn. Are you telling me the human centipede is tougher than him?
In other videos Malenia got buffed af with scadutree blessings or just got flat out NG+7 scaling, she otherwise stands no fucking chance against Promised Consort Radahn
Many of those videos scale up the base game bosses to match the DLC; and unlike Consort Radahn (who is weak to scarlet rot), Romina resists scarlet rot. Moreover, Romina interrupted Malenia's Scarlet Aeonia bomb attack, which helped.
