great learning video, i used same cabling optic cable from top box to marantz receiver (old school with built in dvd) which has optic in that says DSS at the rear panel, still no sound out even if i set it to DSS --- please help.

I have a sony surround sound system that Amazon will not let me listen to my tv or cable box in surround sound nor my books through my bluetooth any more. I've connected the ss to my cable box and to my tv. If I'm watching the cable box I can't get the ss to give me sound. I've tried the optical method and the hdmi and those red & white
Wires. When using the bluetooth option with my kindle books it worked for awhile until Sony and Amazon started fighting.
