Today I'm painting a beginner-friendly seascape, a beautiful Devon beach seascape inspired by a photo from Pixabay - pixabay.com/photos/bay-beach-...
I'm using Millford 100% cotton cold pressed 140lb/300g weight paper, 11" x 15"/28cms x 38cms, and the following: raw and burnt sienna, ultramarine blue, cadmium yellow and paynes grey, Pro Arte Ron Ranson hake brushes, Escoda Ultimo synthetic Mop brush, small calligraphy brush and 3/4" flat brush, but use what whatever brushes you are happiest with. - Zábava

Recently moved home with a beach nearby; obsessed with snapping pics of it I’m thinking of borrowing your techniques to apply it ROUGHLY to a chosen pic and hopefully manage to add my lurcher in the background (luckily he’s v slim so just might me simple or simply a mess) - the fluidity of your talent is obvious. Wow❤

Did you learn everything you show us on this video, or did you just know how to do it out of instinct? Stupid question, but i would love to learn watercolour painting, but i haven't got an ounce of creativity, and i am wondering if one has just has to learn all these techniques and start applying it to his/her own paintings. Great video by the way, look so simple and yet it is not
Age has been no barrier if you want to learn something.
Best way to learn is on your own or join art school.

Thank you very, very much for this video! I actually live by the sea myself. I have lots of sea photos which I want to turn into paintings but I always found seascapes particularly tricky to paint. I was never able to crack the tones, some elements always come off too strong, especially the grass. I think I'm going to give it another shot after this video :)

Hi Lois. I am a beginner at painting (watercolor). I just happened to find your site and I love your style and techniques. I have found it hard to follow CZcams artists as I am a beginner and can’t find a local instructor. I love this Devon Beach seascape and was wondering about the small trees on the right at the top of the headland. You didn’t paint them all in and I was wondering if you erase the sketch marks from the finished piece? I am looking forward to following you and painting along side you.
