How To Paint A Simple Deserted Beach, Watercolour Seascape, Loose Watercolor Landscape Tutorial

- / loisdavidsonart www.etsy.com/u... In this video I show you how I paint a simple watercolour seascape/landscape depicting a beautiful deserted tropical beach.
Please use whatever materials/equipment you have or like, I used the following materials: Millford cold pressed cotton paper, 11" x 15"/28cm x 38cm, ultramarine blue, raw sienna, cadmium yellow, viridian, sepia and paynes grey. I used various brushes including hakes, squirrel mop, flats, riggers, calligraphy brushes, see video, but please use whatever brushes you are comfortable with. My paper isn't pre-stretched, I simply tape it to my board with masking tape, it will buckle a bit as I paint but will dry flat. My board is at an angle of about 45-60 degrees. Thanks for watching!

I painted this, but I made mistakes making the rocks on the sand flat
Lois, do the Ron Ranson hake brush bristles stay stiffer than cheaper ones? My cheap ones never keep an edge.
Yes they do, I highly recommend them, they have a chiselled edge straight away and are very versatile and durable, look for Pro Arte Ron Ranson hakes online, they are reasonably cheap

It was either sepia or burnt umber in the rocks and pebbles in the foreground and a bit dropped into the tree canopies for variation and contrasts
