    Hey!
    In the video, you said you can upgrade the ram to 32 gigs even though they say the max it can get to is 16. How do you do that? Thanks
    I'm planning on upgrading my R2.

    Hello and thank you for this. I need to know what kind of battery that is. Mine is swollen and has bulged up the palm rest above it. Can I please get the info on what kind of replacement to get?

    Any idea what size screws are in the back panel? I lost some.

      No but you can get a full screw set on eBay for a few bucks. Many/most common laptop screws are the same width and pitch, just different lengths and drivers.

    Hi, a quick question: is that ok to replace the old 14.8v battery (the OEM one) with a new 15.2v battery?

    Thank you so much now I don't have to spend a grand on a new laptop, dell can shove it... they obviously don't want users replacing parts.... especially the battery. so damn hard just for a battery replacement

    How do you tell the difference between r1 and r2

    • @Sellbrokedotcom
      @Sellbrokedotcom  Před 4 lety

      R1 has a Mini Display Port on the back. The R2 has no mini DP, but it does have HDMI 2.0 (R1 has HDMI 1.4).
      The R1 has 3 USB 3.0 ports, one of them having powershare technology. The R2 has 2 USB 3.0 ports (no powershare) and a USB 3.1 Type C port with Thunderbolt 3 capabilities. This replaces both the mini DP and the other USB 3.0 port from the R1.
      R2 has Skylake processor. R1 has either Haswell or Broadwell.
      Everything else is pretty much the same. Same chassis*, same keyboard, touchpad, etc. Both have GA support. You can find more differences in the manuals of the R1 and R2.
      *Because of the change in ports, the R1 and R2 bottom chassis have a slight design differences because of the ports, but outside of that, the dimensions of both are the same.

    I have an Alienware 13 R2 without touchscreen. Do you know if it's possible to install one with touch?

    • @Sellbrokedotcom
      @Sellbrokedotcom  Před 4 lety +1

      Probably not. Your motherboard doesn't support that. Thanks

    • @toddwest9115

      @@Sellbrokedotcom Probably can.. The only differrence in the motherboards is the amount of VRAM. 4gig Vs 2gig on the 960... The regular 960m 2g will run at the qhd resolution but not so much for games. it already has a hard time competing at 1080p. But for just movie watching and other things it will work fine at the higher res.. The ribbon cable is even the same for both models.
