  • History/Overview
Introduced in 2018, the X2 is the second prong of BMW’s approach to the subcompact crossover category. While similar in size to the X1, the X2 is positioned as a sportier alternative, with a sleeker roofline and a snugger cabin. For 2021, the only updates are minor changes to the X2’s equipment list.
    Available Trims
One of the X2’s differences compared to the X1 is its availability with a more potent version of the company’s 2.0L turbo four-cylinder. That motor is standard in the M35i trim, while same engine makes less power in the entry-level xDrive28i model.
Both engines are standard with an eight-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive.
    Standard Features
The BMW X2 xDrive28i comes with 19-inch wheels, leatherette upholstery, a leather-trimmed steering wheel, M Sport steering, electric seat adjustments with driver memory, automatic climate control, heated front seats, front and rear parking sensors, LED headlights and fog lights, a CD player, satellite radio, Apple CarPlay, and navigation.
The X2’s standard safety kit includes tire pressure monitoring, dynamic cruise control, forward collision warning with city-speed automatic braking, and lane departure warning.
M35i trim adds M sport brakes, high-performance run-flat tires, and an M aero package and rear spoiler.
    Key Options
X2 xDrive28i can be optioned with an M sport package of sport seats, transmission shift paddles, an M steering wheel, high-gloss exterior trim, and a rear spoiler.
Both trims can be fitted with Premium Essential and Premium Enhanced packages. The former adds a heated steering wheel, ambient interior lighting, an upgraded stereo, passive keyless entry, a panoramic sunroof, and an alarm system. The latter builds on those additions and brings auto-dimming rearview and side mirrors, power-folding side mirrors, an integrated garage door remote, navigation, a power tailgate, a head-up display, lumbar support, and a parking assistant.
    Fuel Economy
As of this writing, BMW hasn’t published fuel consumption estimates for the 2021 X2, but they should match (or come close to) the 2020 model’s figures of 9.9/7.6 L/100 km (city/highway) for the xDrive28i model, and 10.0/7.8 L/100 km for M35i versions.

Great video! I’m a little upset that mine is getting customized and I ordered the wireless charging just to now find out my iPhone 12 Pro Max won’t fit. I’m sad now 😔 I wonder if I still have time to take that option off.

I just bought the new x1 l did like the x2 but it was a little low for me but all round both amazing cars l wouldn’t recommend putting on 20” wheels on theses cars it’s just a little to bumpy it changers the drive a lot but each to their own 👍

Completely agree. Love the styling on the X2 but the X1 is the more practical and comfortable drive.

Just bought a 2021 in Orange Sunset Metallic two days ago. Paperwork says it has fog lights, but I’m still looking for them. Mine has the black plastic louvers where fog lights usually are.

Nowadays most cars have the fog lights integrated in the normal headlights on the front, probably that’s why you don’t see them

I have been driving an X2 around for the week. The X2 tries way too hard to be a Subaru Forster in BMW's clothing. It's an annoying and unpleasant vehicle. Just get a Subaru or get a proper BMW. Make up your mind about what you want in a vehicle.

Looks just like my 2020 X2 281🤷🏽‍♀️. I love this car🥰 so much. It really is the ultimate driving machine. Only thing I miss about my trade in for this BMW is my 2013 Subaru Crosstrek CD player🥲. CarPlay is an option for a year but just I use my iPhone X. Great video.
