1). don't use both chemical and physical exfoliant at the same time
> risk over exfoliating
> causes microscopic tear
2). alternate using acne treatment (benzoyl peroxide) and chemical exfoliants (AHA & BHA)
3). avoid using vitamin C with AHA, BHA and benzoyl peroxide
> disrupts the skin's pH balance
4). Use hyaluronic acid BEFORE face oils
> apply products from more watery to more oily, the lighter consistency usually absorbs better
# toner > essence > serum > cream > oil
> using the oil first blocks the hyaluronic acid from being absorbed into the skin
5). Use benzyl peroxide and retinol on different occasions
> use moisturizers in between
I just saved u 10 mns ur welcome
pork steam bun Can we alternate days between using benzoyl peroxide and vitamin C?
omg thx
my goodness thank you so much. i had no idea what she was talking about. i understand the words she's saying and what they all mean and what they are but her script is all over the place
Great job!!
chocolate chips sheâs actually incorrect on that point, you can use vit c and acids together provided itâs not too irritating to the skin.
This is so important and why I've cut down to just 3/4 steps a day instead of the 10 step routine that I used to follow
That's great! Sometime more isn't always better in this case. and because there are so many products out there claiming to do really good things, it's different for each person as well. Thanks for commenting girl! đ- Fel x
waste in the end all skin care products are the same
Personally, I do only like to use just a few products every evening. But I switch it up each night depending on what I feel my skin needs. Sometimes it wants hydration and nourishment, other times it needs a deep clean and acne treatment.
For example, every night would consist of cleansing and toning, and then I'll add in different masks where necessary (clay for acne; sheets for hydration) and sometimes I'll use a face scrub, other times I'll use an AHA/BHA chemical peel.
Some nights will include GOW Niacinamide Serum which is very watery, then I might layer on Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair which is a tad thicker but contains lots of antioxidants, and then finally a thick moisturiser, like La Roche Posay Nutric Intense Riche or an oil, like Jurlique Skin Balancing Face Oil.
Other times, after cleansing/toning etc. I might still use the Niacinamide serum and then layer on top the Skin Shop Silver Serum to fight acne breakouts, and then La Roche Posay Effaclar Duo.
Well some of those steps are already things you do like the cleansing, exfoliating, moisturizing. Other steps are just for pampering really.

Gosh I wish you guys could make a cheat sheet chart out of this.. this is the most educational skincare video of the decade basically.
Why is skincare so flipping confusing with so many products and steps?
Lauren Heath for real though. I do so much research and Iâm still confused
Different products were created for different skin types and conditions(rosacea, acne), easiest thing is to get a facial and have the Esthetician set you up with a basic skin care system
Y'all Guys should watch more videos from @Dr. Dray here at youtube. She helps me a lot! She's a dermatologist. Too much product on ur skin isnt good. Less is more as what they say! âș
Lauren Heath it doesnât have to be. Keep it simple. Why do you need serums oils moisturizer??? Your skin can only take and do so much. Thatâs why they get so many fine pimples.

Used to follow the 10-step Korean Beauty routine. But recently I found out that "double cleanse-facial spray-moisturizer" is enough for my skin. I'm happy with my skin now. Feels smooth and breakouts are rare now
Vanna Bee I'm down to a few steps as well. Yayy
That's so awesome to hear! It's so great when u find a routine that works! đđđ - Fel x
What double-cleanse-facial-spray moisturizer do you use? Thx
@@BeautyWithin what is your real age? I am now 22, can i use this skincare products as yours?
@@laxmigurung2099
Keep it simple like clean your face before bed using a face wash. Use make up remover un you use make up. Use an Exfoliate once aweek or two a week.
If you suffer acne, use 2% or 5% benzoyl peroxide cream from a drug store as spot treatment.
You do not need exoendive brand.
Face serum is good but expensive and you can DIY such as hyalorunic acid serum seoarately from Vitamin C, E, Ferulic Acid serum.

UNLESS a sunscreen is used,
Vitamin C Serum shouldn't be used during the day due to sun exposure.
Ingredients
1 tsp vitamin C powder
1 tsp filtered water
1 TB aloe vera gel + 2 tsp, I think aloe juice may also work in this recipe. I haven't personally tried aloe juice in my serum, yet.
1/4 tsp vitamin E oil optional
Instructions
In a small bowl, combine the vitamin C powder and filtered water. Whisk the ingredients until the vitamin C powder is completely dissolved. Once dissolved, stir in the aloe vera gel and vitamin E oil.
Pour the serum into a dark amber bottle (a funnel helps). Store the serum in the fridge for 1-2 weeks. Around the two week mark you may notice the serum's pH level change*. Your serum may have a different color and consistency, depending on the vitamin C powder and aloe used to make this recipe. My vitamin C powder is pink, but many are white.

Best instruction on making Vitamin C serum
How To Make 30ml Vitamin C, E, Ferulic Acid Serum
czcams.com/video/LUXKlf3edpA/video.html
A step by step tutorial on how to make a 30ml 15% concentration vitamin C, E and ferulic acid serum.
This vitamin C serum helps to even out skin tone; good for helping to clear scarring and dark spots. I have also recently launched my own affordable Vitamin C E Ferulic Acid serum that is just as effective as popular brands like SkinCeuticals but it is a fraction of the price! The brand is Bombshell Bathtime, for just $24.97 (or get 2, one for a friend, with free shipping automatically). Get 10% off your first order! www.bombshellbathtime.com
Bombshell Bathtime's Vitamin C E Ferulic Acid Serum contains
17% L-Ascorbic Acid, and is the ideal pH, at 2.6-2.9 for effective skin penetration.
Bombshell Bathtime's Vitamin C Serum also contains Vitamins B3 and B5 for even more effective skin lightening and skin conditioning, and hyaluronic acid to keep skin extra moisturised without any greasy feeling. I honestly think it's the best Vitamin C Serum on the market right now, as it is vegan, cruelty free, paraben free and silicone free, has only essential ingredients, and you can get it for less than $25 per bottle.
Use this vitamin C serum after cleansing, and before moisturising/makeup. The serum can be applied on body also, not just the face. I've been using this vitamin C serum formulation regularly for several years. It helps with evening out and brightening my facial skin. I don't need moisturiser in summer if I use this serum.
To DIY you will need: 5g L-Ascrobic Acid (New Directions Australia) 15-17 ml Distilled Water (Supermarket Laundry Aisle) 0.5g Ferulic Acid Powder (Lotion Crafter) A few drops of vodka (I got a mini bottle from a liquor store) A large drop of natural vitamin E (New Directions Australia) Sea Kelp Ferment (Bulk Actives) 2 small containers to mix ingredients (New Directions Australia or Lotion Crafter) 3X1ml spoons to scoop various ingredients (Lotion Crafter) 30ml dropper bottle to store serum (New Directions Australia)
I accidentally stopped filming because I ran out of space on my iPod. All I did after the video was mix the two liquids and transferred it into the dropper bottle :)
////////
No need for facial oil.
For Retinol, wait till you turn 30 :)
I just have SO much respect for the time and work put into your videos. Science based, evidenced based advice. Definitely walking into sephora with a different mindset when looking for products.
Finally someone spells it out. Iâve been suffering all winter from breakouts.
I will definitely be looking at my products this weekend and figure out a proper schedule.
Thank you!!!
This is so true! I once had done the mistake using AHA & BHA together with retinoid. Turns out, this breaks me out everywhere in my face causing me a sensitive skin until now. And it took forever to recover. This is a very informative and useful video for those who like trying all the products without knowing the dos and donts!
Hey! I just wanna say this is great video but you CAN use Benzoyl Peroxide and Retinols (specifically Adapalene) together. I'm a current resident in Dermatology and we actually recommend mixing these ingredients to patients all the time. These two ingredients are some of the strongest products for combating acne, but they can cause a lot of irritation for sensitive skin. So it's not for everyone. Consult your dermatologist or primary doctor first. But do know they can be used together at the same time..
aruytpadyugf naaaah probably not a good idea. Visiting a dermatologist and applying all that topical Rx crap made my skin SO. MUCH. WORSE. Resulting in more doctor visits. Itâs a great way to keep the business running, wasting our dollars and our time. Only to discover I was suffering from hormonal acne. Nice try đ
I'm sorry to hear it didn't work out. Like I said, this combination can cause irritation in some people. But Adapalene (a form of tretinoin) is very affordable and doesn't need prescription. You can get it at CVS. Same with Benzoyl Peroxide. Good luck!
I didnât have the worst acne ever, but I felt very insecure about it. I went to the dermatologist and she prescribed me a retinol and a benzoyl peroxide. It did clear up my skin, BUT I suffered from really bad redness. It was way too harsh on my skin. I weaned myself off the topicals and my acne came back SO much worse. So I started using very basic products- not even products made for acne prone skin. Today my skin isnt back to normal completely but it sure looks better than it did!
aruytpadyugf i used that combo also before and yes, it is really irritating for the skin but it totally works. The trick to minimize the irritation is not to use it everyday. Use it every 2 or 3 days and only pea sized.
GRASSFED CHARLIE Yea, and listening to the internet, rather than a professional, sounds like a much better planđ
Ive had acne for years. Recently in desperation, i did several things which together, has helped clear up. 1) cut out makeup/foundation. This let my skin breathe and heal. 2) drink so much water!! Toxins build up and drinking loads will help flush them out. 3) i stopped picking and squeezing my face (easier said than done) and noticed a change, less breakouts. 4) invest in one good skincare routine brand. I use Liz Earle hot cloth cleanser and moisturizer
Thank you for letting me know about products you using! I just bought then!
Thank you, very much, ladies! This video really helped clear up a lot of my confusion about the 10 step skin care routine I've begun. I now understand the rationale for order of product use much better, have a better grasp of the role of pH and you affirmed my decision to alternate the types of exfoliation I do. Well done, indeed!
"If I know I'm wearing makeup" ...spoken by a person with perfect skin. đ
This is so interesting, I've always been told that skincare products have a synergistic effect when layered, but this actually makes so much sense about why I've been so underwhelmed with the results of so many products
Salicylic acid is a BHA so your second tip is half impossible
Exactly I was like uuhhhh what
Yes, i was confused as well..
Jayden can u use salicylic acid and benzoyl peroxide on the same days then or no ?
Jayden IKR I almost lost my shit I was so confused because I thought I was messing up my skin barrier
Vivian Nguyen Wouldnât recommend.
This is such an important video! To save myself the hassle of the science, I try my best use products from the same brand. I have completely removed acids from my routine and focusing on anti-inflammation. It has helped me a lot! My skin becomes stronger and repairs itself quicker.
OMG I literally did this to myself a week ago and my skin has finally calmed down. I think I did the second thing you mentioned (benzoyl peroxide with a chemical exfoliant) and my skin was covered in tiny bumps, like it had bubbled over or something (puke). Irritation went on for about a week longer, and it's finally gone. Worst ever.
Thank you for making this video!
Yay you fixed the PH scale! Awesome vid!
We did! We realized it was worth changing so you guys could get the full facts - thanks so much for commenting and watching! đ- Fel
My skin actually reacts to face washes ...I break out ..however my skin is very smooth ...I love face masks ...tht makes my skin even smoother đ
I just realized I watched Miaâs video on how to apply perfume five years ago and i still follow her tips till this day

I tried mixing AHA and VITAMIN C and my face is on fireeee! HAHAHAHA this video helps me a lot
I love your channel so much. And I just bought some skin care products since I want to start improving my skin for high school đ
Yaayy, it's great to start being more knowledgable with what you're applying to your skin so good stuff! Just be consistent with your sleeping routines and when you try new products you can try them on a smaller area first so you'll know if you have any reactions :) - Fel
Beauty Within thank you so much and I will đ»đ
Dance Is Life They wonât improve your skin, especially not at that age. Just donât dry out your skin with face wash, get good sleep, exercise, drink water and donât eat unhealthy food.
Jara Im getting Into highschool too and with all the respect, you don't know what you are talking about. Every skin is different and just good food and sleep is the very basic. I had some acnee before i started my skincare routine and belive me, i was eating well, sleeping and only washing my face with water but it didnt do much for me. And i belive that if i wouldn't start this skincare routine my acnee would get worse every day. Im happy that you didnt need it at that age but she knows what is best for her skin
Andre 58 Thatâs because you are letting your skin rely on it and itâs probably irritating your skin making it more acne prone
Super helpful!! I really appreciated how you broke everything down and used the illustrations! This was the Best easy-to-understand video I found! Thank you for creating!â€
This is such a great explanation for how to use skin care products! I have been looking for something like this for such a long time. THANK YOU!

Yayyy that's great to hear, thanks for commenting! đ
This stuff costs an arm and a leg
Kamal Miah it's worth it lol even if we do give ourselves mini heart attacks when we buy the stuff ha
The Ordinary is cheap and has this stuff
There are many affordable drugstore alternatives, and yep the ordinary is very inexpensive when it comes to these products. Hope that helps!
Kamal Miah You really donât need all the expensive products. Itâs all a con from the skin care companies. Watch Dr dray sheâs a dermatologist she explains the whole thing
Kamal Miah You can use drugstore products. Popular channels tend to always advertise high end products because they get sponsored.
I literally love how informative this is; brilliant.
This video was so helpful! Thank you for the informative breakdown and application tips. Well done! đđŒ
iâm soooo glad i watched this before i messed up. i was just about to order a whole bunch of new skin care products with bha and aha and vitamin c etc and i was definitely going to just lay them all on to hopefully get results faster oml thank you for the video!!!
Yayyy so glad to hear that. The main point with layering different products with difference acids and chemicals is to just take it slow, because it is definitely different for each person. So introduce new skincare products one at a time so that you know which one works and which one doesn't, and then keep using them and give them enough time to do their job to really see đ€đ- fel
Guys do not exfoliate your face everyday! It will damage new skin cells trying to protect your skin but great video otherwise!

I understood your video much better. It's so confusing trying to make sure to give my skin everything that it needs. Great video
Thanks so much for watching! So happy to hear it's all starting to make sense! đ
Why is maintaining good skin so overly expensive and its always a million products you need to use which means more money
Bridgette Francisco , So that you don't waste thousands of $$ on botox and facials when your wrinkles show up early or when you're in your 50s đ đ đ
All these products help your skin keep its youth and properties, it's not a waste, rather it's an investment đâđ»ïž
Actually, I dont believe that you need expensive products. Just start taking your skin while youâre young. Cleanse well, exfoliate accordingly, NOURISH your skin, alway protect with SPF.
mchann I agree with you and also a good diet, it will help your skin a loooot.
Eating healthy, drinking lots of water instead of soda, staying away from the sun for too long are probably the only things you need to do to have good skin.
It doesnât have to be either of those things. The prize range that I have found ideal is $17 - $34 and a good example brand would be La Roche-Posay. As of products you really just need: Cleansing, Hydration, sun lotion in the morning and a good Exfoliator here and there (the best ones are chemical exfoliants).
But really, the most important thing you can do for your skin is to sleep enough, drink plenty and eat healthy!
This video was soo informative and popped up at the perfect time because I just developed irritation on my skin due to over exfoliation & not doing my skin products in the right order!! Hopefully my skin gets better following these tips
This video gives me the most comprehensive info on facial treatments! Thanks girls!
It blows my mind that people think the Clarisonic isnât an exfoliator...like come on. I need you to get it together.
You are NOT supposed to you your Clarisonic with a scrub! Thatâs asking for problems. People need to stop disturbing their natural acid mantle on our skin! No wonder people are breaking out!
Well, in North America I see drugstores selling all kinds of things that we use to scrub dishes or floor in Asia as a body scrubber. I always laugh at it, like no sis my back is not a floor
referral madness What? lol Using brushes with normal, everyday cleansers, is great for gentle daily exfoliation
@@JJ-ve4ho I think a cleanser & a exfoliation is not the same thing, exfoliation is stronger but I'm not sure
It blows my mind that people use the Clarisonic.
If you guys wanna know here's my routine

Holy moly, this makes so much sense now and explains so much!
Omg thank you!!! This was so helpful. I made the mistake of mixing products and literally burned my face and caused more acne damage đ« now Iâm afraid to put anything on, but good thing I watched this video and now I know which steps to take next time.
When you say alternate, I usually do my acne stuff in morning and wrinkle stuff in pm.
bha can go under the first layer of skin because of smaller molecules when aha can be used for the surface which is the major difference between the two and is recommended for dryer skin types bc of its hydrating properties and anti-aging
Chickfilyssa123 so which of the two has hydrating and anti aging properties?
Migs Fiel aha
so bha is more hydrating and better for anti-aging?
Felicia Temple aha, bc itâs suited for dryer skin and cannot penetrate through oil (if you have combo-oily skin) you should watch Liah Yooâs and/or wishtrend tvâs videos about the two because they are more in depth
If you have dry skin, ahas are more beneficial and hydrating while also exfoliating. Avoid bhas, they are for oily, acne prone skin to really get in and clear out the pores.
So helpful! Thank you for the great explanations everything makes so much more sense now :) Great Video!!
Thank you so much for this! I realized now why I cannot see any difference on my skin when I'm using my vit c serum religiously. That's because I'm using it with an AHA/BHA toner! Again, thanks so much!!!
When I was 17 I had a couple pimples but was a overdramatic teenager and so I mixed my proactive, with regular benzoyl peroxide, salycilic acid, and 4 drugstore brand zit fixes and slathered it on my face and went to sleep. I woke up with 3rd degree chemical burns. It burned so bad that I could barely wash it off with water. If I made a facial expression my skin would crack and bleed. My face was about 4 shades darker red for 7 years lol. It looked like I wore a foundation mask in red.
Lucky Lex I also burnt my face when I was 19 and it took me around 14 months to cure that
Oh my gosh, that sounds so painful! đŁ
Wow I can't imagine how u felt afterwards physically and mentally.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but AHA and BHA won't throw up the pH of the skin and deactivates the vitamin c , why we can't use AHA, BHA with vitamin C is because AHA and BHA are acidic and if you add more acidic substances like vitamin c it will irritate your skin since your normal pH stratum corneum is around 5,5.
So you actually can mix them if your skin can tolerate them, they are both actually pH compatible. You can use AHA BHA to lower the skin pH of your skin and acidic skin condition will help the absorption of Vitamin C.
I hope so since this is what I have been doing đ€š
At least someone is making sense here. Good job!
can i use salicylic acid and lactic acid face wash before using vitamin c?
Thank you for clarifying!!!
why did you say at the beginning that mixing it all can't throw off the pH balance & deactivate the vitamin c but then you process to explain how mixing aha, bha & the vitamin c together can irritate the skin bc they put off the 5,5 pH balance? like you contradict yourself it makes no sense
Thanks for mentioning when and how to apply the product. The lightest to heaviest. That is the thing i always get confuse. đđ
OMG đ± just knew it!! While am always having my "experiment" which is dangerous for my skin by mixing/ using all the skincare products since I luv it. No đ đ» no no!!! NO MORE!!
Thanks for the info. Such a good lesson for my skincare routine next time

I just use an exfoliant every other day and a daily cleanser wipe at every night and my skin is SO CLEAR! I use tea tree or Lavender oil as a spot treatment for some acne breakouts (I've heard mixed things that some people cannot put these things on their face but I have no issue)
Thanks for the awesome vid! I was just wondering when to apply eye cream? Is it before your night moisturiser or last step? At night I've been applying it last over the top of night moisturiser / retinol, but in the morning I've been putting it on before my moisturiser as I use a tinted BB cream as moisturiser. Can we use glycolic acid with niacinamide and what percent should we use if we do use them together
This video is very helpful. Thank you so so much. I'm going to change the order of my skin care routine. I'm lucky that I found your video first.
I have a 10 step morning and 12 step night routine. This is such a great video most people don't realize the order of application matters!!!
good info, my routine stays fairly simple
Simple is best! đđ - Fel x
the most useful video on youtube!
Aww thanks so much!! Glad you found it helpful đThanks for commenting! - Fel x
One of the most informative skincare videos I have ever watched! Thank you so much!
Finally! I am old enough to know about mix and match...do or not.... but in so many videos there is not proper advice for younger people, and they are so many products on the market ( thatâs why I started watching)
Using retinol for years , my suggestion, use it over night and no vitamin C serum when applying retinol
Good job girl đ
Wowwww so nice
This. Is. EXTREMELY. HelpfulâŒïžâŒïž THANK YOU đ
Wow, thank youđ This was really informative, coz Iâm new to whole skin care regime.
Great video. Thanks for the info. I need to watch a couple of times to absorb the science, but well worth it as its so easy to make skin problems worse even with the best of intentions and ingredients â€
I disagree with the "oils go on last" statement, that's simply not something that can be said for all facial oils in general. I put my oils after a toner because if I put them on after a cream they'll never sink in and will sit on top of my skin forever... Also, exfoliating your skin everyday is not something that you should do, that's a sure way to damage your skin.
The oils are able to soak through the moisturiser, not the other way around thatâs why you do it last.
chonsa I see so many different ideas about how to layer skincare products. I feel like there is no truth. If there is, I don't know who to believe anymore. I use Kiehl's night oil and it says use oil before moisturizer.
destiny child I agree... so many people think they know everything about skincare and itâs mostly because people hear something or get their information from false sources and they automatically believe that source because they seem like they know what theyâre talking about... I try to only get my information from licensed dermatologists. Even still, some dermatologists seem to contradict themselves or they go against what other dermatologists say. Itâs very confusing. In a way, itâs kind of like what I have to deal with being a hairdresser. I literally when to college for this and learned everything cosmetology related. It annoys me when I see videos pop up of people doing at home services and misleading and misinforming their viewers. But having said that, there are also youtubers who are supposed to be licensed professionals who actually do the exact same thing... WHEN THEYRE SUPPOSED TO KNOW THESE THINGS!!! Drives me insane.
Honestly, I have about 4 or 5 different dermatologists channels that I get all the information I can from, write it all down, and compare. Whatever is repeated or seems to be talked about a lot, I just stick with that. Lol sorry that was hella long. Just went into rant mode.
I thought it was pretty obvious that's what they meant through the video, they simply meant to put something like hydraulic acid on then oil
Celia Hughes hi!! Could you name which dermatologist channels do you recommend? Thanks!!đ«
Great format of video and awesome animation. However the different microphones going back and forth was driving me crazy!
Thanks for commenting! We'll defs keep note of that next time! đđ- Fel x
Thank you so much Beauty within for this informative video. I watched many videos on skincare for hours but this video was very clear and helpful. Thanks again
this was so helpful havenât came across a video like this before!
Accidentally used glycolic acid peel pad then vitamin c serum and lastly benzoyl peroxide cream for pimples lol it burned my skin bad
Oh man, I did something similar to that and it left my skin all red and bumpy and stingy for like 5 days đ Probs better to apply one per night to also see if you're reacting to any of the products separately đ- Fel
Where do you get the peel pad though
Otaku Live pixi!! They have glow peel pads :) 20% glycoloc acid
Marianne Flores are there any at drugstores
Otaku Live whereâs your location? In the Philippines, it can be found at SM/ Landmark department stores and I believe in the states, you can find it at the drugstores. Try to check their website! :) âPixi Glow Tonic To Goâ for availability in your location
please don't recommend skin care products that are so damn expensive sis! most of us cant spend $40 on a face wash or $90 on serum
Exactly đ
Lol Iâve noticed this. Majority of the recommenced products are very expensive
The ordinary, inkeylist, paula choice, eucerin, neutrogena, la roche posay, bioderma, cerave
Beauty Within and Wishtrend are some of my followed skincare channels that at the same time I cannot follow due to their suggested productsđđ especially because everything is expensive here in the Philippinesđ
Nor do you need to!
That was the most helpful video I have watched regarding skincare. Thanks!
You guys are so awesome! Just discovered this channel, love it!
Vitamin C and AHA have similar Ph and you can use them together. It is an old myth that you cannot.
Vitamin C and Good Genes AHA have a very similar Ph actually đ
I use a BHA+Aloe+Snail toner with a Vitamin C+Hyaluronic Acid serum and I haven't experienced any weird irritations or acne? The combo has actually been helping to lighten up my acne scars pretty quick and almost seems to keep acne from forming. So idk?
Linda Gail Billmann if it's working then you're good
The hard thing about skincare is that it can differ so much from person to person. What works great for one person might not have the same effect for another. I think as long as you're not in any pain, or it's not causing any reactions then you're fine! But just pay attention to how your skin changes over time because what works now, might not later, or it could! So be mindful of that đThanks for commenting! - Fel x
Linda Gail Billmann which toner is that ?
Sophia Poppy Benton Aloe BHA Toner
Linda Gail Billmann Yeah this video has a lot of misinformation. My dermatologist has me use vitamin c with a low percentage glycolic acid pad in the morning and a salycylic pad and glycolic pad with as necessary spot treatments at night.
Thank you sooo much! Perfectly helpful video, I like it a lotđ Amazing channel đ
I actually took notes! Thank you so much for making videos that are very educational, and with good visual aid too. Just wondering where you guys learned all about this? Thanks again for sharing.
Soooo very helpful! Thank you so muchđâšâšâšâš
Yaayy that's great to hear!! Just trying to help you guys by sharing our experiences with some of these things đ Thanks for commenting! - Fel
No ads. Love it.
Woop woop!
I had 2 ads during this video.
Iâm so happy you posted a video like this !!! My face has been irritated for days and I didnât know why until you said you shouldnât have vitamin c and Ahas together đ
I'm currently a med student and I think I'm convinced now to go into Dermatology. Loved this video so much!!
Niacinamide with vitamin c? I use dr. Dennis gross triple c firming peptide serum then cerave recovering night cream which has niacinimide, hyaluronic acid & peptides. Sometimes my skin feels rough the day after with that combination. Any ideas or speculation?
There's a lot of claims about using Niacinamide with vitamin c, if you read this article from Paula's Choice, they talk about it and say that it's fine - bit.ly/2K1azlx. I would say if it's causing some roughness you might want to try using using the firming peptide serum every other day, and use a different gentle serum on days that you don't and see if the roughness is still happening. Hope that helps! - Fel x
I read a lot of info that said you could mix niacinamide and vitamin C, but it made my face feel like it was on fire. I quit mixing them.
If your skin is having a reaction, stop using the combination. You may want to use the vitamin c during the day. Vitamin C can help boost your sunscreen, so it's often better during the day anyway. Use your recovering cream at night.
Niacinamide is known to negatively affect the performance of vitamin c, it causes it to be less potent and can also cause potential irritation to your skin. If thereâs a way you can apply the niacinamide and vitamin c separately (ex. Vitamin c in the pm niacinamide in the am) this might help you with your issue
So helpful! Was doing oil before moisturizer. Thanks!
I only use a gel cleanser and moisturizer. My skin has improved so much.
thanks for this information! I use salicilic acid, LHA and benzoyl peroxide due my acne, and was about to buy a vitamin C cream for everyday use! thanks I didn't find out the problems on the worst way
3:23 on fayaaaaah!!!! đđđ
I understand that it's not good to use a BHA/AHA serum with a vitamin C product, but what about acid toners that pretty quickly sink into the skin? Also does vitamin C work well with niacinamide? Oh, and what if your moisturiser has (at a very low percentage) some glycolic in it, will that not work with vitamin C? Thank you!
Nora Svihus Rest assured you can use all of the above with all of the above as long youâre not experiencing irritation from using them at the same time.
Do not use vitamin c with niacinamide, only on alternating days or one in the morning and the other at night
omg yess, do NOT use vitamin c with niacinamide. You'll break out like crazy, it's like a pimple and acne party on your face! I learned it the hard way :')
Nora Svihus You can ignore the advice regarding the avoidance of L-ascorbic (Vitamin C) and niacinamide (Vitamin B3). They can be safely be used together without worry. Some of the concern comes from old research that indicated that Vitamin C negatively reacts with niacinamide. The conditions of this study do not apply to current formulations so feel free to use them simultaneously! Hereâs an article that delves into this topic further: kindofstephen.com/can-you-use-niacinamide-and-vitamin-c-ascorbic/
Until the specific vitamin c and niacinamide products are pointed out, there is no way to know whether the formulations can work together. So until the OP discloses what they use, you cannot make claims that it is safe to use these products simultaneously.
Your channel explains so many important things !! Thank you !! Still like that !!
This is so useful and educational! I love it
I love how you say âH.â đ
Reupload but rewatching đ
Aww thanks so much! We re-uploaded with some minor changes in the graphics so it would be clearer, thanks for commenting love! đ- Fel
Beauty Within love the content !! â€ïž
Same I was wondering if it was just me haha
This was very helpful and concise! Iâm so thankful for the way this video clarified drug interactions basically!! Esp the vitamin C deactivation! I subbed on the spot after this video!
Thank you for explaining how to layer products. Always been confused about this.
