Lovely plans. Really like the naya tee but it needs a drapey viscose. Linen trousers will be so nice to wear. If you like the fit of the top of the opal you can use that and alter the legs to match the protea, looking forward to seeing you finished garment

Merging the two pants patterns should be easy to do. I have taken parts of patterns and created new things…allowed me to reduce the number of patterns I buy… that means I have started tracing patterns to grade up a little where I need it, or reduce somewhere it else. I don’t have a suggestion for the replacement for your fav older top.. I have used an old piece of styrofoam (might have been something from the hardware store, like insulation) and pinned a garment out flat on top of paper and traced piece by piece ( got that idea from Kenneth King video). Your selection of tops feels doable and will make you so happy. I intend to add some sleeveless tops to my closet over the next two weeks…next weekend is a long holiday in the USA so I expect to spend some time on y things, not just housework. Best wishes on your holiday plans and sewing inspirations. Chris in Florida

Hi Karen Marie! Firstly, where I live in Brooklyn, New York used to have a very high number of Norwegians, though not so many these days. But every year they have the Norwegian Parade down the Main Street of my neighbourhood, including this year, on Sunday. My husband (who is Norwegian, I think I mentioned previously) plans to attend assuming it isn't raining. I normally go too, but can't this time. Anyway, it's always a fun day but on a much smaller scale here than where you are, of course! I hope you all have a wonderful day!! Re the Jessi Tee. I've made it and I found that it came up very cropped and the neckline was a bit too high for my taste. Something to check, though we have very different body-types so maybe it's just perfect for you. Deer and Doe patterns I believe a drafted for pear shaped figures, and if so I imagine you'd get a good fit without too much drama. I wonder if the Style Arc Hope dress could be adapted to recreate your top? or that mccalls 7969 dress. Keen to see your next instalment!

Yes, I remember that you told me that your husband is Norwegian. I don’t know why, but it always surprises me when I hear that people from outside of northern Europe has met a Norwegian or even heard of us 😂. I’m so glad you have a parade! We had a wonderful day yesterday, with blue skies and lots of sun. Totally exhaused, but so much fun!
Thank you for the tip on the Jesse. That is very helpful. I’ll lay out the pattern pieces and measure against a top I have to see what I have to change. Didn’t know that about the D&D patterns either.

Hello Karen Marie, nice to meet you and greeting from Melbourne Australia. Recent subscriber to your channel and enjoying your content as well as the glorious view through your window. A couple of ideas for a faux wrap top/dress that might get your thinking going. I didn’t enter empire waist a a search term but these dresses appear to have a slightly raised waist. As a fellow pear shaped person, I simply adore the empire line which can be very hard to find. Enjoy constitution day and I look forward to hearing about next vlog.

Hi Julie, and welcome to my channel! So nice to hear from you. Did you send me a pattern suggestion..? I couldn’t see it from your comment here.
Yes, the empire waist is a good one for us pears, isn’t it? 😉
We had a lovely Constitution Day, and I’m sure I’ll be chatting about it in my next video as I’ll be making a new shirt for my national costume soon. Thanks again for joining me here!
