I like how Black Panther initially walked away at first...but eventually joins..like how Batman is a part timer JL founding member...cus they both have reserved feelings about strongest beings joining together or something
Superman did that too in the comics that is.
Well, the Justice Lords, Crime Syndicate, and Injustice universes all prove Batman's fears correct. You bring that many powerful people together, if they go rouge, whose strong enough to stop them? You basically have to just have faith that they are incorruptible and will correct themselves. Batman isn't the type to make decisions based on faith. That's why he quit in Doom when none of them even thought it necessary to have a contingency plan in place to stop them just in case any of them got out of control.
That’s not why Batman didn’t initially join the Justice League. Go watch any movie or read any comic book lol.
@@BlankestKnight he was worried of that but did not keep himself from joining full time over that fear. It’s fucking BATMAN! He left the justice league in the movie all self righteous but very different ending in the comic version. Batman does not decide against doing something out of fear other than maybe killing. That’s because he fears once he does he will not be able to go back.

Just want to say how much this channel has helped me in experiencing the story told in these comics. I don't have the money or time to regularly read comics, and between channels like Variant and the MCU, I have fallen in love with so many characters and storylines that I otherwise would never know about.
Also I hope they ended up casting John Krasinski as Reed Richards, I think it would be perfect.

@@neltins5308 Tbh with you I fell in love with the early 2000’s F4 as a kid. I know objectively they’re not good movies but I just loved them. Also I hope we get a cooler version of Silver Surfer. But I’m really excited for this new age of F4 especially it being within the MCU.
The most iconic Marvel Illuminati moment for me is when they were dealing with incursions and had to face off against what basically was Marvel's Justice League - The Great Society. They were getting steam rolled and just barely survived because of Dr. Strange's trump card.

There's also the fact that Wakanda is at odds with Atlanteans from small talk we get in Avengers Endgame
I can’t wait to see Namor in live action in the MCU. Namor is such a powerful and complicated character that he deserves to be introduced in a big way. Having him as the antagonist in Black Panther 2 was a brilliant idea by Marvel. I wonder who they cast in the role.
The Illuminati's members have changed many times over the years, there may have been an original list, but there's not been a definitive one. The MCU's Illuminati being comprised of variants spanning multiple Universe's, only further supports that fact.

I find it hilarious that they are suppose to be the secret leaders of the Marvel Heroes but they actually fail on their missions or make it worse like banishing Hulk or angering the Skrulls
Because of the trailers we know Xavier, Captain Carter, Maria Rambeau as Captain Marvel and Mordo will be in the Illuminati. I might be crazy but I think they're actually gonna bring back Anson Mount as Black Bolt and introduce John Krasinski as Mr. Fantastic.

Maybe read a comic book then instead of basing all your knowledge on the MCU movies only. Besides, how were the 838 Illuminati in DS2 NOT pOwErFul? They literally killed Thanos with the Infinity Gauntlet on Titan, meaning that Endgame didn't even happen in their universe. Also, one of them, namely Black Bolt, can literally destroy a planet just by talking normally. Wanda simply lucked out when Reed gave away his powers. But sure, keep denying that they are pOwErFul because you only watch MCU movies. Imagine doubting that a character, who can easily destroy planets, as well as the Sorceror Supreme or Captain Marvel are indeed strong characters. You can tell from these comments who has never read a comic book and only has heard about the Illuminati because of Dr. Strange 2. Yes, the comicbook version of the Illuminati IS powerful, and the 838 version we got in DS2 was a fodder version that only existed to hype Scarlet Witch. If we get a 616 version, they won't be fodder for sure, as 616 is the main universe. At the end of the day, it depends on the writers, and for the movie, they used a fodder version to hype the villain. Heck, all the people who deny that the Illuminati in DS2 were powerful (Wanda was just more powerful), remember this: they beat Thanos with the Infinity Gauntlet on Titan (Endgame didn't happen at all in their universe). Whoops.
I just find it funny how movie-only people mock these characters now, when one of them can literally destroy an entire planet by just talking normally (Black Bolt... I still don't know why Namour was a Member isn't he mainly a Villain who tried to "get his way" with The Invisible Girl.
Namor is an anti-hero, he has been a member of the avengers and xmen and even helps out the fantastic four but their are times when he is a full on villain. One of the worst things he has done is when he completely flooded wakanda. To this day in the comics, t'challa still hasn't really forgiven namor for that.

I love the idea of the Illuminati in the MCU, but I'm almost positive they're biting a little more than they can chew. Unless they release a proper movie for everyone which built up the storyline and that will take years of waiting. They haven't even had the Kree and Skrulls war.
