in Kane Chronicles, Khonshu was depicted as a gambler who would weave you more time out of moonlight if you manage to beat him in a gambling game, if you lost, however, he would eat your essence
@@firxanza5172 Sounds reasonable because one of his original appearances in myths is basically weaving time in order to the goddess of the sky to have her children, she had to win by playing a game, essentially, he gambled time and said he could only give her five days maximum.She had to win fairly, too.

Another fun fact about Khonshu is that he is the sibling (possibly half sibling) of Bast the black panther god that the people of Wakanda serve. So moon knight and black panther share a bit of a connection

Khonshu is one of the Egyptian gods that has taken control of Steven/Marc in the new Moon Knight series currently streaming on Disney+ but in the comics he takes control of multiple people over the centuries.
In the series too, he has other avatars
Moon knight is not an ordinary god like Odin and Zeus. He is an elder god much older than them so he is someone not to be trifled with. Even knull knew him personally.
Khonshu is stronger
Not even moon knight, The Ennead which is the 9 Egypt gods are all much older than them so, imagine messing with them!!

He's one of the oldest beings in the Earth elder God pantheon. Which means he was around before most of the other Gods of Earth, including the Olympians, titans, etc.

In case anyone is confused. The writer messed up the order of the robins and was too late to fix it so in the murphyverse/white knight series only, Jason Todd is the first robin. Everywhere else is Dick Grayson.

It's like that in the newer comics as well. Originally, he looked like a simple Egyptian God.
Then again, all of the elder Gods seem to have alternative forms they can switch between. Like Atum (father od Khonshu) can become the Demogorge God-eater.
Just finished episode 1, pretty dope so far.
What I love about Khonshu is that there is a big ambiguity about if he is real or not and just a big figment of his imagination, that it's maybe all in his head.
that's the whole Moonknight thing, we don't know whether he's insane or he's really a superhero
Khonshu is real though. The avenger themselves have already interacted with him including powerful godlike entities like knull. Even Odin knows him.
@@calebstephan2083 he's real, also moon knight isn't the only avatar he revived. There's Hunter's Moon as well.
Khonshu is real (and a jerk) but how often he actually talks to Marc is up for interpretation.
@@calebstephan2083 Him being real was explained in Age Of Khonshu where its shown that most of his ambiguity that if he was real or not was a farce and that everyone could see him. Honestly, I really liked the ambiguity that Khonshu was real or not, it added a layer of mystery to his character.

Sweet Cobra Kai reference. Moon Knight ep 1 makes a little more sense now. This is the 1st marvel show where I've never read their comics
Fun fact: One of Khonshu’s uncles is Thor through Gaea along with many other Gods in Marvel. Gaea is present in every Earth pantheon as the Earth Goddess under different guises.

I kind of liked early moon knight when it was kind of suggested moon knight was a unreliable narrator and he may have just gone insane from his experience in the desert and konshu may have just been a voice in his head, but they eventually did away with that ambiguity in order to up the scales and flesh him out more.
True this was when I liked the comics best! I remember not being able to tell and it kept me hooked!
That kind of thing won't work in movies/shows. And I personally don't like it a bit, why show us an entire origin story if it isn't even fucking true

What do you think is the best thing about Khonshu in the comics and which one of his powers and abilities do you think is the best? What do you think he's going to be like in the MCU?
Khonshu is kind of a jerk.
He tells Mark that he's pathetic, all the time, and since he is a multi-faceted God, with multiple personalities.. And he gave his powers to Mark... Mark ends up having multiple personalities himself. Later on, he tells Moon knight to collect power to fight mephisto, and beats thor and takes his hammer, and obtains the phoenix force. Khonshu doesn't think this is enough though, and goes on his own little rampage.

Do an episode on the various mythological gods and their Origins. Were they created by the Celestials like the Eternals? Who created them or where do they come from? Are any of them aspects of other mythos; in other words is Zeus the clone of Odin or Ra? Or is Odin the clone of Zeus or Ra?
We know the Celestials are the Gods of Mutants. As such genes and evolutionary biology are the means of their bestowed power. The Gods, however, have religion and worship as their bestowal on mankind. As such is their a "will" associated with the avatars of the Gods?
The rival, but slandered, theory to Darwinian Evolution is Lamarckian evolution. Is there a Lamarckian source to rival the gene theory of superpowers in the Marvel Universe? Not a "spiritual" source as in Dr. Strange, but a carrier of "will"?

Moon Knight is a hero but he's as hated as The Punisher by a lot of heroes because of his brutal nature and fractured mental state.
