A little insight into the law against adultery: on 26 February 2015, the Constitutional Court of Seoul annulled the South Korean law against adultery, because according to the judges it violates personal freedom. This law was enacted in 1953 and provided - in the event of a request from the betrayed spouse - up to two years in prison for anyone found guilty of having had a consensual relationship outside of marriage. When it was conceived, the law had the aim of giving legal protection to women in a historical moment in which few were economically independent and divorce was judged negatively by public opinion.
Since 1985, when the electronic records of the Supreme Prosecutor's Office were established, approximately 53,000 South Korean citizens have been indicted and more than 35,000 have ended up in prison for adultery. Already in recent times, however, the application of this law had been significantly scaled back: out of 892 indicted last year, no one was jailed and most of the trials ended with a financial settlement.
“It is realistically impossible for all unethical behavior to be criminally prosecuted,” said the president of the Seoul Constitutional Court, reading the verdict. The decision was approved by seven of the court's nine judges, the only woman on the bench voting against it.
Small trivial curiosity: the Constitutional Court's decision also had repercussions on the shares of the South Korean condom manufacturer Unidus Corp., whose stock market value rose by 15% shortly after the news, only to be suspended due to excessive growth.
This ruling generated some protests from the more conservative part of the population, convinced that the anti-adultery law served to protect traditional family values. In a survey the previous year, 60% of South Koreans responded that adultery should be legally punishable, but 63% said they were against prison. Only 9% said infidelity should not be a concern of the justice system.
Be that as it may, as the series takes place between late 2013 and early 2014, the law in question was still in effect, hence Yang Ju-ran's plan to catch her cheating husband in the act.

29:48 Ji Hyuk flipped Yura's assistant just 1 meeting. He knows how powerful Ji Hyuk & U&K.
Ji Hyuk isn't gonna play nice anymore.

@@MimithestanYura's family is rich, but not as Ji Hyuk. They're still working for the U&K Group. I think the airline (which Yura is vice president) is owned by U&K Group.
So Yura's assistant knew how powerful Ji Hyuk is. Yura is nothing compared to Ji Hyuk.

The Baeksaeng goes to Park Min Young and her acting partner the golf club. Sorry, I meant Na In Woo. 😆 Seriously, it was so nice to see our couple back together scheming to bring the evil people down. I was ready to come through my screen on Min-Hwan but I think I'll let Ji-Hyuk handle him instead I have a feeling he will do a better job. Great job... You'll love the last two episodes.

all comes to the dysfunctional family dynamics jiwon and sumin has abandonmant issues, jiwon grow up in a more healty household thanks to her dad her mom was absent even shes at home .Her dad makes sure she is loved. because she recive love just from her dad somewhat see his dad love was enough she created same environment in her marriage and took all the responsibility on her shoulders.
Meanwhile su min grow up in an unloved environment neither her parents loved her she was always unwanted she knew that from the really early ages but always blamed herself as an any child would . when her father left her she stuck with her mother who is worst then jiwons mother .
we dont see that in the drama but in the manhwa we see it clearly her mother is abusive in a lot of ways and she starts to abuse herself just to make her mother love her but that doesn't work then finds out jiwon and who she is and how same and different their situation she resents her and blames her for her uhappiness and unwantedness . blaming others is a narcissistic behavior and she is one
she has abandonmant issues, narcissistic disorder and antisocial disorder and ı believe (even tho ım not sure )borderline personality disorder she puts herself in a bad situations to jiwon to forgive her (ep 10 she writes a letter to disgrace herself so jiwon will forgive her she tells later to min hwan this )
and min hwan grow up another dysfunctional family
his father figure is absent and his mother is sexist , narcissist and never teach his son the right social values not become like his father min hwan become like his mother he turns out just like his mother with a manipulative side . even tho in his home he can be sexist as much as he wants he needs to hide this part in public. Because his mothers praises he thinks himself so important (while he is average) he develops unnessery pride and inferiority complex ı guess Histrionic personality disorder
and last ju hyuk his mother died while he is a kid (around 10 or so) his father remarried a awsome woman he really liked her like a mother figure still close himself intimite feelings like love care . this emotional shut down indicates he has some form of alexithymia
    yu ra is outright psychopath
in the end whole story filled with psychology, their sicknesses fits like a puzzle pieces

Interesting!, I love the breakdown of the psychological issues that Su-min is dealing with because it shines light on the differences between her and Ji-won's Lives and how they were raised. Thanks so much for the info
