Honestly, majority of what you described went over my head cause i do not understand wiring. I am at awe at how much you know and how you learned it. You are a brilliant guy.
Let’s face it, this build is single handedly inspiring me to turbo and haltech my own mini. Love your work. Cheers from Australia
I appreciate it. You totally should it’s incredibly satisfying and fun. The only drawback is cost 😅
fantastic and inspirational sir
Thanks Kev!
As someone fiddling around with classic MGB and Mini wiring I am blown away from your custom harness. Fantastic & outstanding work.
Thank you so much! Its been so fun to build and to learn all the new technology. Just one wire at a time!
Great content, looking forward to see this project wrap up
Thank you for watching! I am ready as well. Haha
GREAT, I have had two new Hondas, 03 SI and a 06 Ridgeline. Both had the electric pedal stop working within the first year. Cable is best!
Almost every new car uses drive by wire at this point. Sounds like you had some bad experiences but it’s nearly impossible to get a cable car new now.
Awesome work! So excited to see the results as you work. A lot of helpful information, as always.
Thank you I really appreciate it!
Hi Cole. Great video. I have done a few monthes before something similar with my carb mini, but I used motogadget m-unit wuth Bluetooth. As a result I have mobile phone app to make setup and control all outputs and log all my trips on the map with distance and speed. It also works as alarm and potentially can allow to run without key if you have mobile phone with you.
That Motogadget setup is really cool. If you arent looking to go full EFI, ECU, etc etc just swapping to that Power Distribution alone will make the wiring so much more reliable and easier to service. Thanks for sharing that, I hadnt heard about it before.
Fascinating, it's really interesting to see you use the latest technology in a classic shell
Thanks Keith! It's been really fun to explore all this new stuff.
Great work as always dude.
Thank you! I appreciate you watching and saying so.
great job as always, :))
Thank you! I appreciate you watching!
Fantastic video Cole! I’ve loved seeing how your mini is being modernised. Plenty to think about for mine in the future.
Thanks Paul! Its been really fun to do. Its been quite hard to film properly though I tell ya! haha
This is looking really good. Mind you I'm not sure you can claim this is a simpler way of wiring a classic Mini as there seem to be many more wires than standard. I suspect some of the extra cable arises from the decision to mount power distribution in the boot. Your instrument panel looks fantastic. The exciting part of wiring comes at the point you switch everything on and circuits start working (or not).
Thanks Graham! Yeah I guess simpler is relative and maybe a stretch. I think the reason it seems like there are so many wires is indeed because I chose to put the PD16 in the boot. You aren't kidding though, the first turn of the key to see if things work was both exciting and terrifying!
Thnks
Thanks for the video. Always watch your content for knowledge and ideas. Are those headlights still the dapper lights?
Thanks for watching! Yes they are still the dapper lights. I actually just became a vendor for them because I love the lights so much. They really are the best I have ever had on the mini.

Also where did you get the cool rotisserie blanking plug from? I'd love one for my Morris Minor resto mod
Hey! It was actually from Classic Minis Japan. I did a video about it a couple years ago now. :-)

Also I dont why but I cant find your original comment. "What an awesome video and a neat install. I'd love to get a detailed explanation of how you scaled the gauges in the software and a run down of what you split between the nexus and pd16 in future?? Very hooked on this series! "
I don't have a full video of scaling the gauges but I can do one for you when I get the car back from a retouching session at the paint shop. I can do a full breakdown of what I put on each device too. I will have the wiring diagram pinout I can share in the next episode as a downloadable too.
@@classicminidiy that would be amazing thanks so much! Did you throw the haltech digital to analog converter on the boost gauge in the end? Love your videos!
@@owlytv Thank you!! I did end up tossing a home made one on there and it helped smooth out the coolant and oil pressure gauge but the boost gauge is still quite jiggly. I am not too worried about it though, its gonna be bouncing around like crazy when I am driving anyways. :-)
