I just want to say how happy I am to see you show protecting dash and gauges from weld damage. After 49 years of body repairs I have seen a lot of glass damaged from welding and grinding. I look at every spark as a piece of molten metal flying through the air looking for a place to melt something. I am now learning metal shaping through you youngsters

I fookin bled the master cylinder on my Busa, didn't cover the gauges, oops, 2 perma squirt marks .. want a new bezel now, for me the entire car or bike can be rusted whatever, "patina" but if the gauge bezel is brand new and all the lights work right, and gauges all work, its on, prolly cuz thats what I look at 80% of the time when driving or riding

Excellent work Mr Fisher! One of my peeves on all the chop jobs I see is knowing 9 out of 10 of them have no inner structure support. These cars aren't terribly safe in a crash as it is, but having only the outer skins holding them together, not a good idea.
Thanks for showing the proper way to build a custom!

As one of the "nay-sayers" regarding the chop heigh I want to say I'm digging it more and more. Still think that a tad less chop would have showcased the huge craftsmanship you're both throwing at and also developing along the way of this build. The pillar caps are amazing, and squinting a little, with the chop height and doors, it looks a tad like a monstrous VW beetle (in a good way!) The undertaking of reinforcing, copying and building the inner structure is spectacular and it's a shame no one will be able to contemplate it once the car is painted and assembled. Good thing you have this build series, it's a testament to your vast capabilities and how you keep adding tricks and techniques to your arsenal.

I'm sure everyone watching this, used to watch the Speed Channel on Sunday mornings. Muscle Car, Extreme 4x4, Stacey David, etc. Those shows were great, but they were always lacking in the nuance of the jobs they did. You always wished they would delve into it more and really show you how things are done.
Well, we finally have a show that does that. One of the best shows on youtube. Enjoyed it. Thanks!

Another attribute of Cubitron is that it removes material so quickly that there is much less heat transfer/generation. I've seen a demo where a foot long, 1" bar was ground down in only a few seconds on a robotic grinder. It was dramatic in itself but then the operator immediately put his bare hand on the ground area and showed that the material was removed faster than heat could transfer. Very effective for large scale welds such as ship hulls, etc where heat distortion from welding is a big issue.

Ìm so glad you decided to go with the A- pilar cap technique..it is absolutely the best method in this scenario. You probably will never know all the advantages. But rigidity, rollover, crashworthness, and even reduced rattling and metal fatigue are but a few of the advantages I can think of off the top of my head. I am very curious to see your approach to the roof, catwalk, and trunk design and fabrication. You go dude!! We're all rooting for ya!...
