- 1937 Lincoln Zephyr 🏜️ Ian Roussel Begins Installation On A Mono Leaf Spring Design 🤠
Ian Roussel wants this car very low, he arranges an approximately 10 inch static drop in the new suspension design.
The Backstory:
Desert friends turn Ian and Jamie on to a find of a lifetime, A 1937 Lincoln Zephyr. In the kustom community, friends are EVERYTHING, as is sharing finds and resources so that we all can carry on the tradition and legacy of kustom culture. The kustom family has come through once again, and Ian and Jamie found themselves deep in the desert at an estate sale that was only invite only. This car could have went to the highest bidder, but instead went to The Roussel's to take loving care of it. Tune in to see what Ian and Jamie's plans are for this beautiful and rare car. The car has no cancer, no collisions, and most of the exterior pieces are included.

Love the reality of your content, great to see you explaining your method and your approach in getting started with what you’re about to tackle 👍 I almost feel like I’m there ready to get involved, to sum it up with my one favourite line for great things that are created…
MASSIVE ! ✌️😎👍
Loving it all the way from New Zealand
Jaime- great job in matching the music selections to the car. I love the music (and cars) of that era.
And the volume was spot on.
Ian- thanks for talking your way through your thoughts as you work. You’re a great teacher, whether you realize it or not.

Hi Ian How does one contact you on a potential project for you? It would clearly be a one of a kind project. I love your persona it always seams constant. Ty Mike
Ian, I could watch you doing what you're doing all day. So keep up with the great work that you have been doing.
Digging it!
Absolutely love the 50s big band music. The best years to be living. Cars, clothes and even architecture.
The most talented person on CZcams, thanks JAMIE for being here too!
My pleasure!!
I enjoy watching this episode on the 1937 Lincoln Zephyr. My father bought his 1937 two door Coupe sedan February 1940. It’s getting its seats fix now. And I want to get it on the road this year. R gin and body is done.
I’m glad Jamie is home doing her thing with the camera, the music is perfect for the era of the car bravo, the nice thing is we never know what you’re going to be working on but it’s always super cool!
I enjoy the creativeness and Foolishness of this channel.
Its a VIBE! Glad you are here!
Driving on the sidewalk
Looking back and the sky is burning in my rear-view mirror...😗
Glad I found you, missed full custom. Missed the cool builds, excillent music in the editing, Jamie. Thank you for sharing what you guys are doing. Like the intimacy of the builds now.
Welcome! We are glad you are here!
This channel is excellent! Ian is not full of himself like Bad Chad and he does not abuse a dog by welding in front it.
I find it amazing that Ian doesn't have to work from a drawing or set of plans. He attention to detail is remarkable (matching up the curves on the tabs). The editing was tight and coherent. Thank you.
Gorgeous out there and just think you guys live there. What a blessing hard work brings. ❤️🐕🐈⬛🐕🐈⬛🐕❤ Love the editing and music Jamie.😊 Great job Ian and easy to follow. Might think about adding some gussets on those brackets just for added safety and strength.
Fun music!
I enjoyed your choice of music on this episode. I’m a fan of ragtime. And Ian of course.
It’s going to be cool 👍
I dig your regular fancy TV show, but I really prefer this format so much more. It matches your personality so much more, making it feel like a one on one lesson from a master. Thanks for doing these videos, looks like 100k subs is right around the corner!
Welcome back Jamie, the videos weren’t the same without you
Cool stuff👍
Cool style.
You got it.
Jamie should be on your Motor Trend show.
Great great video Ian Jamie you guys rock can.t wait to see more of your content lets see some more of your beautiful dogs cats win win give them dinner
LOVE the jazz music overlay 🤠
I like bouncing around from one project to another. They are all great but you never get tired of the same ole thing. Good thinking my man
I'll watch this one because it's a cool car, just gotta be a cool car.
Should pop up here to Alberta, can go fishing, fixing, and mixing ;)
always impressed by how professional the production and editing is
Great music Jamie! Seems like you must be having a lot of fun editing 😃 Desert's looking spectacular, and Ian's work, as ever, is entertaining and inspiring.
Very nice work
Fun to watch
suspension is coming along... looks good :) ;)
Excellent
Thank you! Cheers!
It’s gonna be so smooth! Also, It’s so much better with the real original Chic on a stick!😂❤💋
I'm happy to see a new video. I enjoy listening to the jazz music when Ian's making noise. Good job on the editing.
Thank you for cutting out the angle grinder noise. If Jolene did that for Bad Chad I would still have been watching their channel. 🆒😎👍!
Jamie, and Ian... Ian, you already know what a greet teacher you are, but I wanted to say it. Jamie, the format with you as students about the only way I wrap my head around what Ian is doing. Thanks so much. If I had cash, I would be buying the EyeMuffs too!
Wow a lot goes into lowering the Zephyr
Nice
I love how you say,"I want to keep it simple." Made me laugh, knowing you are a custom fabricator. Yes..definitely easier than all the complexity of a four link. Great episode. Love the Zephyrs that are low and slow.
zapher a nice car and looks like its joy to work on
I really like modifying old bikes with new models. your idea is great. continue.👍💯💪🤩
I love your multi-project approach, the more the beterer. Always full choice of what to do, way to play.
I love the Horns on the soundtrack.👍
The music got me... thought instantly of my granny who always had this playing in the background
Thank you for sharing. A happy weekend to you as well.🛸👽👍
Another productive day in the office mate. The Music suits Ian lol.
Lovin' the show. Can I request some more slo mo welding, just a little, I love the sound from it! 👏👏👏👍
Sure thing!
Well done Ian and Jamie I really enjoy the choice of bumper music
Great work and video can't wait to see it finished and the bug too
Guess who's back ,back again jamies back ,back again da da da Jamie's back Jamie's back tell a friend ,Coolmusic your playing
The king is hard at work. Editing and music bed very good also.
Ian explanations are easy to understand which makes the videos enjoyable. It's nice to have Jamie back!
Thanks! 😃
I'm so pleased to see you on CZcams.
That was cool. I love the shop talk with the reasoning behind the planning... then watching you weld it... you make the process look easy...
Two Alien Thumbs up from the superior leaders of Planet Getlow. I know there are 30,657 different opinions out there, but I thought what you were doing was working great, and I very much looked to your next video. My vote is for the team concept.
Great work mate good to see how you just wing it and use your common sense and experience to get it done, always good watching you work but how did your house fair in the storm I hope they managed to repair everything after the last time and make it all water tight
Ian, You are making, it ,too, Easy!!
I've been waiting for more work on the Zephyr. It's going to be wild when you get it finished. You are the Guru of custom fab 👍👍
The start of another great build. That car is such an exceptional blank canvas for a creative mind like Ian’s. Jamie, thanks for the 30’s music background. Great minds think alike.😊
Glad you enjoyed it
Goodyear rolling gathers no moss
Ian, you mentioned in the first video that the car may have been used as an ambulance so I was wondering if the extra heavy steel in the back was for extra support to keep the car from losing it’s rigidity plus the passenger door was changed. Love the music Jamie, it makes us feel like we’re back in the 30’s just like the car.
Like your trike in the background,
Loving the Zephyr theme music lady.😉
One this is for certain, you guys do not make your channel boring!! Multi tasking your various projects keeps things from burning out!! Great work!! And your choices of sound tracks work really well with each segment!!👍
Glad you enjoy it!
Thank you very much enjoyed myself.
😅 Interesting, and fun to watch Ian fabricating another beauty! 👍
Glad you enjoyed it
I like the selection of music to go to with the car.
Hi Ian, So far so good. I will just wait what comes next and go from there. Take care and always be safe! Hi Jamie
I love the music
I’m enjoying the content, especially the Zephyr content. The Make it Kustom channel is doing a 4 door to 2 door conversion and chop. It’s definitely interesting to see two different concepts and ideas take shape on the same type of vehicle. Looking forward to seeing the end product.
G'day guys, for some reason this episode reminded me of the big band/charleston era. 😎👍
That’s a different way to lower one. Nice job.
That Car is going to Look Amazing when its all finished .All Ian's Builds are So Amazing. All the hard work he does Fabricating the Builds its an Art form,Very talented Builder. .l Really enjoy watching your videos.Keep up all the hard work Guys .
Big Band sounds and a 37 Zephyr! Can't get much better! Kind of fun watching Ian also. :-)
It’s really shaping up👍 Wonder if you guys are gonna have a colorful Spring with all that rain.
We hope so! 🌼🌼🌼🌼
Nice music change. I played trombone in the 60's in school, and that kind of music.
Awesome
Tap your feet. Love the welding music🎉
Progress is going good bench welding makes it easier than having to try and overhead weld components at least its simple math using a tape measure and set squares.
I love what you both are doing. You make a fantastic couple.
Thank you so much!
Altro music kinda made me think I was watching the Jerry Lewis telethon. Pretty wild way to drop a car but very effective in keeping it simple compared to a link suspension. Can’t wait to see this down on the ground.
Jamie is a big band era fan😀
The Car belonged to Cab Calloway......
You have got to have that big band era music while working on that zephyr--good choice Jamie !!
Wow, I just love watching Ian do all these things. It takes a lot of knowledge that he picked up over the years. He has so much experience now and he can explain it very well on the videos. He truly is amazing. A lot of the young people can learn a lot of stuff from him Were years ago we all had to do it by trial and error and we didn’t have videos to watch well done. Thank you for a great video Sir !
Thank you!
Wasn’t sure about the lowering of this car, but the more the project moves along the more I want to see the stance on it. I like that you try and keep things fresh for yourself, don’t rush this one this car is a work of art and deserves to have some time put into it.
Dig the music Jamie!
Going to be another awesome build.
Pretty cool! Ian, you make it look simple. It all makes sense, and you're giving me ideas! Great video 😊!
Good video ❤
Glad you enjoyed!
Great content Ian. I'm working on a 1936 Cord with mono leaf front suspension. The first production CV front drive. I learn something new about it almost every day.
Loved it im learning cheers 🥂 guys 😊
I was lost this entire episode 😱🤪
I’ve seen where you notch the frame rails and mount the springs inside the frame rail itself to give more room for wider tires.
Yes, i never knew all this happened, and there's names for it all.
I like the welding tunes🥳
Could weld the nuts in for the spring mounts to make them captive and avoid some of the hassle of using pliers to hold the nut while using the wrench on the bolt head ...
Great video
It's coming along !!! I'm still not sure where you're going, but I'm enjoying the ride !
Araruama, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil!
Love the period music...well done...
Great build, enjoy the music!
I have posted a few pictures on the Facebook site that I hope Ian would look at. I have gotten some good feedback from them and wondered what Ian thinks. And great episode
Email them to him.
