    How did it hold up. I noticed you didn't torque it down correctly. After 51 ft lbs your supposed to loosen it and tighten it per Polaris torque sequence.

    I was glad to see you remember the 12mm cylinder bolts! It was driving me crazy! What are the torque specs?

    I bet a million this quad seized up shortly after, note the fitting for the oil line hole below the timing tensioner hole isnt there. You're supposed to drill an tap it.

      😂 Not on a Polaris Sportsman 500 HO. There is no oil line by the tensioner. Only oil lines that go into this jug is on the other side to the front of the oil filter, and they come pre tapped...

    I wanna see the piston put on, this is my first time take apart a motorcycle engine. I had to pull the crank and press the wrist pin out. But I see you doing it in the bike.

      If you had to press it out then you had a press fit wrist pin. The only way to reinstall is by heating the connecting rod. This engine has a clip in pin which is more common on atv and dirtbike engines.

    I have a 2011 polaris 400 ho, noticed the other morning it had a tinging noise coming from the motor. Brought it back to the shed the noise was gone. So I used it all that day.
    Went to go out in the evening the starter wouldn't turn the motor over. I took the plug out rolled over just fine. Put the plug in started right up but then started passing oil out of the camshaft cover...
    What do you think is wrong.. need help

    Hi do you know if it is possible just to remove the sleeve like in a car and replace the sleeve on the quad or would you need to replace the cylinder block?

    • @norain31
      @norain31 Před 2 lety

      replace the cylinder they are so cheap its not worth the hassle caltex sells them 109 bucks with new pistion rings and gaskets e bay . also the 400 head valves are same as 500 just piston stroke differnt on the 2 engines.

    When you produce an instructional video, you are under obligation to your viewers to tell them the torque you are using for the four cylinder bolts and for the 4 cylinder head bolts. You have to be more specific if you intend to be making money from your videos and you are genuinely trying to help people.
