    @ 2k is not a bad deal at all at least better as any of the newer jackson for the same price imo and a satin finish is just killer! just the pickups are a bit "unpredictable" in this price range so better try before you buy!.. cheers 🎸🎸

      I definitely think Ormsby should have Video/sound demos next to every Pickup on their Pickup page. It would help a lot with the pickups being an unknown. Thanks for watching!

    Hi James, as you’ve asked, I’ll share my experience with owning an Ormsby.
    I actually have 3. All of mine are 6 string. The most recent is the Hype Shark in Caribbean. Stunning. Full spec sheet on the site.
    Not only is it just an awesome looking thing on my wall, but these pickups are so receptive to signal from amps or fx boards (I use a helix floor). It’s like getting behind the wheel of a car that looks kinda foreign to you, but you quickly don’t become afraid of how different it feels to what you thought you as awesome before. I Love the pickups, set up was perfect out of the box. Using the coil splitters certainly doesn’t make it sound bad… it’s just after you hear it with the humbuckers it’s a little hard to go back. It can handle strong tension really well (wrapping the end is only an afterthought if you’re going to drop C/C# I think. They seem to just handle whatever you throw at it with ease.
    I’ve also got a Futura 6 with a flame blue top. Thing is a machine!
    Sign up to a run, follow the forums, you’ll be stoked when you get your own.

I have been eyeing the 7 string TX GTR from them: 25.5-27.8 scale, same bridge PU as this model, but with a single coil in the neck, and 27 frets on the highest string 😮. The TX body is inspired by tele and looks so cool. Very unique guitar and now I'm *VERY* tempted haha

    I bought one of the lower-tier GTI-S 7-strings just for fun, to have a 7-string to f*ck about with when I'm too lazy to get out the expensive ESP or the custom with the Evertune bridge. At sub 900€ brand new, being "made in Indonesia", with house-brand pickups, I expected absolutely nothing. And wow, was I surprised. Honestly, that thing RIPS! It's so fast and tight, a total player guitar, firm in the low-end, good note separation in medium to high gain, and an overall simple but well-made feel. Can definitely recommend to anyone considering!

    I would ask you to review an Ormsby TX series guitar. I would like to see a lightweight, modern-styled guitar with single coil tones that feels great to play. Telecasters are still generally built with cumbersome neck joints and even if I'm not as good as Jeff Beck with a Strat, I don't want something that feels like two pieces of raw lumber bolted together. If you do another Legator, like the SFOD Arctic Blue a while back, perhaps you could review the CC-7 that flew under the radar. I'd bet most channels (the usual suspects) didn't get a free guitar to review so it didn't make any waves.

    I have 2 Goliaths with 1 black friday custom on order. I have an RC-1 and 2 hype models (shark and elite-II). The Goliath model is my favorite. I love how light, modern looking it is. I agree 100% with the pickups, they are amazing and I plan on trying more of their custom hand wound pick ups.

    • @SpampysGeM
      @SpampysGeM Před 5 měsíci

      how is the high fret access on the Goliath? I have seen some photos and by the look of the horn starting at the 15th fret I am afraid it would be a nightmare to play the last frets in the 7-8 string. What do you think?

    • @andrewpolk1643
      @andrewpolk1643 Před 5 měsíci

      @@SpampysGeMI do a lot of lead playing with 5 string arpeggios starting at the 17th frets and never even think about fret access. If you're trying to play F# or B string beyond the 19th fret then you're going to find some discomfort for sure, but that's pretty much any guitar especially a bolt on.

    • @dreammachine86
      @dreammachine86 Před 4 měsíci

      When I had a look on their website those 'Black Friday' models looked really cool. I like the idea of full rainbow colours for that sandblasted ash finish. Not cheap though!
      I haven't tried an Ormsby yet, I was quite tempted by the Hype GTR Elite II 8 string as do want to get my first 8 string at some point. Whilst their import models look like really high quality guitars (the birch top on the GTR Elite looks incredible), I'm not so sure I'd get on with their multiscale.
      My only multiscale guitar currently is a Cort 7 string, a typical 25.5 - 27 scale. I've found it really comfortable on the higher frets where the angle is towards the bridge, but a bit awkward on the lower frets where the angle is towards the nut. It makes barre chords particularly awkward for me. Unfortunately it seems that Ormsby leans towards a more extreme fan angle closer to the nut...so the opposite of what I'd find comfortable.
      A shame as Ormsbys are clearly great guitars and I seem to really like the sound of their 'Hot Rock' humbucker but I would definitely want to try one at a dealer first to see if their multiscale is something that would fit with me.

    I'm currently in the market for a new guitar and have around $2,500usd to spend. I've been trying to find something headless, 6 or 7 strings, with an uncommon body shape. I love the shape of Strandberg and the Ibanez Q series but I haven't fallen in love with anything I've seen from them. I like the Thanos and Osiris body but I've heard too many bad things about Kiesel. Schecter is my favorite because of their fast and thin necks, but no headless models (at least yet other than the potential Synyster Gates signature). I've never been a strat/tele/sg/LP fan. Tried PRS but just felt average at best to me. After looking up reviews and watching videos and your in depth review, I think my new guitar is going to be an Ormsby. I've heard only good things about the quality of them!

    That is so crazy the pickups remind me of a gunslinger type way where it's done on an angle like a vertical angle that is so crazy like a gunslinger that is wild instead of you know normally it's just straight boring that they're on an angle that's why I like a gunslinger that's interesting

    The knobs are Hipshot O-ring knobs, they are great. The bridge is also insanely similar to the Hipshot multiscale bridge. It's a very nice guitar but I couldn't get on with the difference in scale lengths.

    • @ChilledGuitarReviews
      @ChilledGuitarReviews  Před 10 měsíci +1

      I'd say the mounting plate is actually a fair bit thicker rimmed than the Hipshot MS bridged Guitars I own. Never had a guitar with these O Ring knobs though they feel great! Understand the 2 inch spread may not be for everyone.
