How to Get a Visitor Visa to the U.S.A.

- Here's how to get a B-2 visitor visa to the U.S.A. (Or a B-1 Business visa to the U.S.)
A non-immigrant visa is for traveling or doing short-term business. This includes nonprofessional sports, surgery, and social events.
First, find out if you even NEED a visa to travel or do business.
There’s around 38 countries that allow you to just enter with a passport and stay up to 90 days.
If you’re a citizen of any of these countries, you’re good:

Step 2: Determine which visa you might need for your visit.
Most business and tourism travelers use B-1 and B-2 visitor visas.
• B-1 visas are for business travelers to consult with business associates, attend a conference, settle an estate, or negotiate a contract.
• B-2 visas are for tourists on vacation and people coming for medical treatment, a social event, or participation in amateur contests that you’re not getting paid for
Step 3. Go to the website for the U.S. Embassy in your country. It will tell you tell you what you will need. Instructions may be different for each country, but in general, you will at least need these things:
• To complete online the non-immigrant visa application form, called a DS-160
• A passport-style photo of yourself
• A visa application fee (usually a small amount of money)
• To schedule an interview
Bring all everything from step 3 to the Visa Application Center. There may be a consulate near you, or you may have to travel to the capital city of your country to visit the U.S. Embassy there.
During the interview be ready to discuss the following:
1. Purpose of trip: What city do you plan to visit and why? Who are you visiting?
2. What do you do for a living: A detailed explanation of your job or of what you do on a daily basis helps us understand your situation.
3. Direct Family: Tell us about your family life. Are you married or single? Do you have children? Grandchildren? Do any of your family members have visas?
4. For students still building a career, it is important to speak about your chosen degree program, courses, and future plans.
You may want to assemble helpful documents that support your case, such as birth or marriage certificates, bank statements, and so forth, but they may not ask to see them.
Remember, do NOT purchase fake documents.

Hi, can you please help answer my question. I am from Cambodia, my wife also Cambodia girl but she won the dv lottery and she moved to usa since 2015. Since then she came back Cambodia several times, and she got pregnant and gave a birth to my son. My son was born in USA, so he is us citizen, and when he was 5 month old, my wife bring him back to stay with me in Cambodia because no body take care my son. Pelobsok that's a really tough situation. If your wife has permanent residency in the US she may be able to work to get a lawyer to help you get over there too. My friend married a Philippine woman but is U.S citizen with a 3 year-old son. Similar situation, and that's the strategy he is using. Beyond that, I can't really help you much, so I hope this response helps move you in the right direction.
What i have to do for visiting if i'm from Venezuela?
I'm not sure right now. Venezuela is a tougher situation right now than many other countries. I suggest visiting the U.S. state department website or an immigration attorney for counsel on that. I wish I could help further than that, but that's all I can advise right now.
You have to apply from a different country. You can apply from any country you would like to. You can apply from the embassy in Spain, for example. The US embassy in Madrid will accept you Venezuelian passport without any problem. Hope that was helpful 😊

That's not exactly true. Those countries that he mentioned also need an authorisation document, which is called Visa Wavier Program or ESTA (electronic system for travel authorisation). Technically it's not a visa, but it's still a document that is required in order to enter the United States. Hope that was helpful 🙂

Some you can. Some consular offices do visas for people who live in different regions of the country, and that is how the host country is divided up. Check the State Department (.gov) site for your country.
