- Cloud Defensive Rein 3.0 Micro advertised stats:
95,000 Candela peak beam intensity (With 18350)
1000 Lumens output (With 18350)
40 minutes run-time (With 18350)
Length 4.88"
Surefire M340 DFT advertised stats:

*I misspoke in the video, Candela is 95,000 for each.
5:44 Output over runtime is why I appreciate the testing you and the Werkz Holsters guys put out. Great comparo as always
That was the best review of those lights I had ever seen
I don't do forums much anymore, so I appreciate ya putting reviews like this out on CZcams. The step down with the 18350, is pretty substantial on the Cloud. That changes my perspective on it for sure. Thanks for the tests, man.
Excellent review! I was actually shocked to see the drop off of the CD after that little time. Both are great options but that really did change my perspective. Appreciate your time and effort into giving us some unbiased data!
No one runs a light that long unless you’re in combat or a very hostile night situation. That’s why we have nods or light vision binoculars.. no one needs to walking around like they are walking to their deer stands with a damn tactical light

Wow, i didnt know the CD dropped off like that. Very good video. This is affecting my buying decision.
Great comparison and review!! Very helpful to see them side by side and real performance. :)
Thank you for your time and effort to share this information, your work is much appreciated!
Btw let’s give it to this guy for making these videos. Fantastic stuff
Great review- the Rein has Surefire beat on this one...
Can I ask you’re opinion. I live on a farm every once and awhile you have to grab the 12 gauge n run out into the dark to save a animal would you say the rein would be slightly better for the spill factor or am I over thinking sorry for the silly question in advance n appreciate you taking time out of you’re day
Not a silly question at all. I use my lights for the same thing. That said, there are multiple factors, here.
1) I am of the opinion that due to the batteryjack, the Cloud product will tolerate 12ga recoil better. However, MOST of that recoil is going to be focused on the head of the light. For this reason I prefer MICRO/MINI lights in 12ga applications because the battery mass is significantly less than (2) CR123's or an 18650.
2) Spill helps a lot, as often predators on the farm are pack animals. It would be nice not to miss one, and the CD REIN 3.0 does have more spill than the Surefire.
3) I would consider a 5.56 carbine, as often threats will present, run, and then look back at you. They are curious. They may or may not be out of shotgun range at this time unless you are using slug. I have killed many a coyote who pulled this move.
Fantastic review. Any chance of a micro 3.0 reign and full size 3.0 comparison?
The main difference is the 3.0 is a little more powerful i ln the lumens department, and the head is allowed much higher temps as I recall. Its a very hot running light, and I find it interesting that the Micro is much more controlled.
+1 on this, I’m considering if the weight savings are worth it but I don’t recall the rein 3 stepping down as much as this rein 3 micro has to the point that the stepped down sf turbo has more throw while the rein maintains more spill.
Unsure but iirc the rein 3 had more throw and spill than the turbo whether fresh or stepped down right? But it ran hotter and shorter?
The 3.0 was a very hot running light, but it was the output king, imo.@@gob7116
@UnobtaniumsQuickReviews how does the modlite okw compare to these in regards to thermal regulation and dropping output?
Just get the full size. It’s super light and you won’t regret your decision
So does the rein only drop like that when you run it continuously?
Yes, but a quick off and on restarts it near full. It does drop quicker, subsequently, though, until allowes to fully cool. I did a short video of this.
Not sure if you respond to old videos but do you know if the Rein is compatible with the Surefire articulating Mlok mount? I can’t find anything concrete on that
No, but overboar solutions swvl will work.
@@UnobtaniumsQuickReviews awesome thank you!
