I absolutely love the scavenger hunt too.

Streamlight hlx for the win. You can still shot out to 200 yards with a streamlight hlx Thank you for the video

On high contrast targets, yes. I prefer a good amount of lux though, when using a LPVO in low contrast environs.

Beautiful fireplace, looks like all it really needs to be perfect is a nice bear skin rug and it'd be ready to meow. 😏

yes for sure. The CD Rein 3.0 is nearly the same length as the 18650 Modlite; however if you take the light apart you see why. The internals of the Cloud are dramatically overbuilt. Battery jack adds length and so does the proprietary tail cap. The Cloud head is also much larger and more robust. I compared these two lights directly and went with the CD Rein micro because the durability was important to me. The also HUGE thing I had to have was dual fuel and the 18350 Modlite doesn’t offer that.
Depends on use case but performance wise they are within inches of each other. I don’t have any experience with the SF Turbo lights as I did not want an integrated mount.

The modlite fullsize is dual fuel.
Durability is also subjective. The modlite and scout design prevent battery bounce into the tailcap, just like the batteryjack. The cloud heads contact point is actually spring loaded, just like the modlite and surefire. I have not heard of either of these 3 heads failing due to normal or even abusive use, and all 3 are similar sized, and dual fuel. The modlite can run 18650s, though. The surefire throws furthest. The rein 3.0 micro has the most lumens. Its really tough to pick one.

A scout pro 1500 lumen is great for inside and turbo out, the turbo can double inside at a lil cost of panning

It seems like the surefire has a dead zone mid pattern , and starts ringing at the outer edge.

This is very common with these types of lights. I think the rein 3.0 is the best balanced of the breed. That said, the 3.0 micro is coming. Dual fuel.

@@UnobtaniumsQuickReviews I have the CD Rein 3.0 Micro and can confirm it does combine the best combination of throw and spill. The other big difference I noticed with CD Rein 3.0M is the color temperature - its MUCH more natural than the color Modlite uses and makes color appear much more natural. The other big thing I noted with it is after 45s its steps down in power but you can step it right back up by turning the light off and back on.

I still think the elephant in the room remains the sheer size of these new "Micro" lights from Surefire and Cloud. They are, respectively, 4.8" long and 5.1oz for the SF, and 4.88" for the Cloud, along with being about 5oz with the clicky. This is functionally the same as a Modlite fullsize WML at 5.3oz and 5.25" with clicky. That makes these "Micros" a bit of a tougher sell, in my opinion. Also consider that the PLH-V2 does not run nearly as hot as the Surefire and 3.0 Micro/does not need to step down nearly as soon. I plan to post another video soon detaining these disparities. Maybe next week sometime.
