Well, I'm 72 and really got so much out of this video. I purchased AC because of the American track mods, even though R3E is my go to sim mostly because I've yet to be able to get my G29 to feel anything like it does in R3E, and I've tried everything including the LUT fix. But I'm hoping that sooner then later I'll find a method that works.
Dang, I thought I was Mike's oldest subscriber and fan, at a mere 65 years old! Maybe we need to start a Masters Sim Racing League. We can let Mike join us as a coach. 😉
@@10vingers why, you're practically a whippersnapper! 😉 Seriously, it is interesting that there is a significant population of older sim racers. I love the mental challenge that it presents. It's hard work to concentrate long enough to finish even a short race without "binning it".
Don’t forget to test with desired quantity of AI, as this is the biggest FPS killer. I spent a lot of time making the game look quite good, and the game had very decent FPS when testing alone on the track. The big surprise was when I finally ran a race with 20 AI only to find the game with unacceptable FPS performance, at which point I had to dial down the settings. Biggest impact was to deactivate the apps. All depends what is most important to the individual.
I recommend "Lightroom.fx" by Marty Mcfly for anyone with some knowledge colour grading/image editing; it's essentially Photoshop for your game, you can adjust basic functions like exposure, gamma, color temperature, if you really want to get into the nitty-gritty you can adjust midtone, highlights curves etc. and really make the game to look the way you want to. For example, games like RF2 have a really unnatural blueish hue to it, which can be easily fixed with lightroom. I also highly recommend SMAA, which is a postprocess Anti-aliasing(removing jagged edges) technique. It doesn't lower fps at all and do a really good job at removing those pixelated edges. Assetto Corsa's MSAA option affects performance greatly, so I enable SMAA and turn down MSAA from 4x to 2x to improve performance. For those who want a sharper/less blurry image, "adaptive sharpen" and "filmic sharpen" are good options, they come with reshade by default. Adaptive sharpen sharpens edges, while Filmic sharpen sharpens surfaces, pick the one that serves your needs. Hopefully this is helpful.
Good news - I built a pc. Bad news - blew my sim budget on full R3E content and GTR 2. I'll have to get by on these until the next steam sale event. Thanks for another great vid.

You can check or uncheck any of the shaders you want in game with reshade so install them all so they are available and then uncheck the ones you dont want in game with the Reshade OSD. bro no matter what i do assetto corsa just looks so bad
I do not care one bit about eye candy, I care about physics which is something that is far from the mark in AC. Back to the sim all others TRY to replicate. Back to the best, back to rF2.
Thank you
