Love this David Lichine ballet - saw Festival Ballet (now ENB) perform it years ago - beautifully performed by the effervescent Isabella Gasparini 🌟👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻bravissima!
Not sure if your agreeing with me, I feel when writing things can be taken different ways Devon who’s reading but I hope u didn’t think I was critiquing her technique just that there were elements missing from this variation Also is there a recording of u dancing it, it’s a variation that’s not commonly seen
No I am sorry there are no films of my Pigtail Girl performances, way before videos were available. I did love Grad Ball as it is such a fun ballet. Les Patineurs too is another fun one but the costumes much hotter. I remember that I had special training when I was learning the role from an Australian ballerina ( Pamela Proud) who had performed Pigtail Girl years before. It is deceptive in the fact that the solo needs good technique that is fast , crisp but flows and yet must convey joy fun with a touch of comedy. I have noticed quite few performances on CZcams of Pigtail Girl and her Friend variations. I think they may have been used in the recent past Prix competitions for solo choices. It is funny , I am 78 now and can still remember the Little Swans variation even if I definitely could not actually perform it 🤣🤣 I haven't worn pointe shoes for 54 years. My go to exercise now is instructing Tai Chi which I often do barefooted
I love this variation 💕 Isabella has a lovely ethereal quality 🧚♀
I like her❤ Her dancing and beautiful smile always bring joy to me☺️
Simply wonderful!

BRAVA!
Is it just me or are her shoes absolutely dead? Always nice to see her.
not just you ... I do believe her shoes weren't in the best shape
Beautiful dance but will say this is a character piece
Naughty school girl seeking attention should not be dance with such poise
Having been a Pigtail Girl ( way back in the 1960's.) I know one has to have sharp and correct technique. And perform with a comic twist
