Awesome! If I'd seen this video 20 years ago it would have saved me from days' worth of mistakes.

Got stuck on the side of a steep slope because I left my skins too long. I finally walked up as I was close to the top. I now know how apply the colltex stuff that I ordered.

It's strange that a pair of skins takes 1.5 tubes of glue. Why not make the tube the right size? Perhaps because narrow 70mm wide skins for 20 years ago took less glue?

Thanks for the video! Do you have any experience regluing Montana skins? I have a couple sets and was wondering if Gold Label would work.

Gold Label seems to work ok on most skins. If your Montana are classic sticky skins with visible thread textile backer then a transfer tape from Contour should work too. Non-sticky skins (hybrids) need to be refreshed with a proprietary system, and lots of ‘em can’t actually be re-glued

when letting the glue cure could I hang them or should they stay horizontal to prevent glue from moving around? living in my van so there are some space considerations.

Usually the glue gains cohesion after only a few minutes and it becomes very quickly difficult to "move" glue on the skins. I don't think there's any issue hanging the skins once the glue has been on the skins for 10-15 minutes.
