M1 iPad Air (Blue; 256 GB) for a slim $600 is what I grabbed from BB last month…to replace the historically beautiful iPad Air 2. It’s all I need at a fantastic pickup price.
At the end of the day, it seems like a better deal to get a MBA 13" with the M2 - $999 for the MBA base (or even the M3 for $100 more), than spend $949 projected for 12.9" Air with 256GB storage. THEN a keyboard, which you could get something decent for about $100. THEN you'll need some kind of dongle to equal the ports of a laptop. Other than using an iPad as a tablet (w/o a keyboard) or using it in conjunction with a stylus/pencil, I don't understand the appeal of using one vs. a comparable laptop that essentially beats it in every other category. iPads have their purpose, and I use one for certain functions where a laptop won't work, but to use one as a laptop replacement seems silly, including the iPad Pros.

The iPad Pro m4 has an Oled screen which is better than the iPad Air 6 with LCD. I want the iPad Pro for art and procreate. So I can use larger canvas and more layers.
I just want more surface area tbh. I rarely need more than 20 layers at most. Often I can condence most files into 5 layers anyway

Yeah, will consider the largest m4 iPad Pro for my wife if it has a big enough resolution bump and enough memory. 8GB sure isn't enough.
An M1 tablet with keyboard case less than $400 would kill everything on the market. I’m using the ninth iPad with the logitech keyboard as a basic netbook. it’s phenomenal, but I would gladly upgrade to an M1 if the price is right.

I would consider pro only for lidar scanner. it’s a must have now for architecture and interior scans. Also an ipad with an ability to run native mac software would be a dream come true. One device for drawing, scanning and more serious work when paired with mouse and keyboard - instant buy.

I have the 2018 iPad Pro. I would only be willing to get the new pro, if it acts more like a Mac. I want Xcode on the M4 iPad Pro. I can’t wait to be able to side load apps on it. For the iPad especially, the ability to side load apps is a must. Once they do that, it will open it up and make it truly a pro device, and not just a large iPhone.

I bought a new iPad Pro 12.9 back in early 2022 for $899 from MicroCenter. I thought that was a decent deal still pricy though for an iPad.

A renewed m2 iPad Pro might make more sense cause of the screen and speaker benefits. Or if a 1tb version is bought will also have 16gb of ram (we’ll see next month if that’s actually useful from wwdc)

Very low risk as a third party needs hand-to-hand access to your device to exploit it. So, I suspect Apple is not rushing.

I have felt this way since getting the 2018 12.9" iPad Pro - Love it, but software limited for art/creative apps. I like procreate and Affinity designer, but at the end of the day I can't run Adobe Suite so I got a Microsoft Surface Pro 9 and have absolutely loved it. Until Apple gives the iPad PRO a PRO OS, I'm afraid the best creative tablet solution right now is definitely the Surface Pro Line. And it's fantastic.
Make sense. I’ve been using the ipad pro 12.9” M1 w magic keyboard for years just for working on web browsing and office stuffs, the screen is fantastic but it kills the battery like crazy and it is heavier than the macbook air M1, so i have to get the ipad pro 11” M1 w magic keyboard and i love it so much, light weight and last longer battery.

I would buy the iPad Pro for its OLED screen because I watch a lot of Netflix and TV on my iPad. but if the price is too high then I can still go to Android because I hear that the s9 plus from Samsung is also a top device? I now have an 11 inch iPad Pro from 2018 and it still works great, but I would only change for the screen quality. or maybe a 12 inch iPad Air? I don't know yet.
Honestly. I picked up a M1 iPad Pro last week for the best deal ever. Couldn’t be happier. Couldn’t wait any longer for an iPad that’s just crazy expensive. M1 is amazing, and the iPad gonna be an amazing companion.

I’m thinking about pulling the trigger on an M2 iPad Pro 11 Inch starting at $799 before apple announces their new price plans. From what you said in the video it seems as if the 12.9 iPad Air is going to be priced around $600-$800 with an lcd screen and the new iPad Pros are probably going to be more expensive than that.

I’ve got an iPad mini and feel like it’s the perfect size and in between device when phone is too small or MacBook too cumbersome.. otherwise I use my MacBook for pretty much everything.. my iPad serves mostly as an entertainment device and backup work machine should something happen to my book. Otherwise, iPad is kind of sucks for what I do.. it can handle all of the individual tasks just fine but the multitasking experience is just plain clunky. Split screen leaves much to be desired as well. A supercharged iPad would offer me basically zero benefits
It will be interesting to to see what type of local storage is available. I'd like to see a 512 GB local storage option on the new iPad Air 12.9".

Everyone wants this, and this is why Apple won't release it. They want to sell everyone an iPad that is crippled with their shit iPadOS and also sell you a MacBook Air. I'm hoping with the new Qualcomm chips coming out this year, that we see a new wave of Windows tablets with high end specs that run windows instead of Android. If that happens, it might force Apple's hand. I've been using the Microsoft surface and it's fantastic. I would love a Surface with a 14" display, or, and iPad Pro with 14" or larger display with dual boot option. I can tell you one thing, for most of us wanting Dual Boot, we know once we boot into MacOS on an iPad, it's probably going to stay that way. The pro needs to be PRO. I see so many people saying that iPads are designed for touch, but for those people, an iPad Air with iPad OS is perfect. Why have pro features with no pro software? It doesn't make sense.
I'm not interested in any ipad besides the mini if they have that limited IOS, it will flop again if they don't update it more like a mac type.

Apple and TSMC are done with M3 because of the process node "N3B". TSMC is already using the next node N3E that's better for Apple in all ways: cheaper, better better better.
Lower price will probably not gonna happen, at least in USA where the pricing starts. The pricing in other countries are based on the USA price plus the currency rate plus 5-10% addition plus sales tax.
Apple also need to try to make a bigger profit in 2024 than 2023 that was 100,91 billion dollar (calendar year).
Apple's calendar 2024 Q1 result will be published today on May 2 after the stock market has closed. Often 30-40 minutes after.
Apple will never try to go from a 100+ billion dollar in net profit to 1-10 billion dollar. They wanna earn more and more. When they can't increase the volumes they try to increase the prices. And it's about the price for the family. They ended iMac 27" to sell Mac Mini/Studio with the new external 27". They ended iPhone Mini for iPhone Plus to increase the price. Apple is always doing these minor tweaks with their product families. They removed the AC adapter to sell more of these.

The only thing I wish for my M2 iPad Pro is REAL MS Office and better scaling for more apps like final cut or davinci. If that happens, my iPad really is the only computer I need. Performance and hardware wise it's enough and more for me.

Why does everyone think the iPad Pro is too expensive. It has a desktop chip. I still have a 4th gen iPad Pro and it works fine, but the iPad Air is a great upgrade.

I never use the camera in my iPad Pro. It should be removed but I like some people like to have the camera in the iPad due to big window to frame the shot on the iPad
Don’t use camera or LiDAR on my 12.5 pro, if i want to take a photo I use my digital SLR.

I totally agree with you. The iPad Air 6 makes a lot more sense, especially the 12.9-inch model, over the new iPad Pro. OK, if all the rumours are true, the new iPad Pro's technical capabilities will be amazing, but what's the point? It's still only running iPad OS which will cripple its performance. iPad OS make the M series iPad Pro the most pointless product in Apple's product portfolio, and with so many of its components re-used in Vision OS, it's also help seal the fate of the Vision Pro.
I won’t be replacing my 4yo regular iPad until most Mac software will run on it!

Larger screen would be nice, but I hold the iPad in my left hand (often in bed). I think the added weight, probably around 50%, will be uncomfortable so I will buy the normal iPad Air this month. The price difference is of no importance to me.

The only Apple device I would be only buy with ProMotion is the iPad. If the new iPad Air did not have that I would take a used or maybe even new "older" iPad Pro.
I use an iPad Air 5. If it’s really an LCD M2 I will not pay 800$ (minus trade in credit) for 2 more inches of screen. And if the iPad Pro is just too expensive I may not upgrade at all.

The only 2 things that would make me upgrade from the mini.
1. Gaming potential that's beyond the Nintendo switch.
2. Gaming support, gaming on these tablets is pure garbage and it's sad that a Nintendo switch can play games like monster hunter but these tablets don't have that kind of support, would it kill apple to pay these companies to have their games on here? So much is being said about all the iPads except the iPad mini. I know there are a lot of “pros” looking forward to the new iPad versions coming in May, but for us regular people and those in the business circles in which I run, the Mini seems to be the most popular … and nothing is being announced.
Rumours suggest a new version is coming, but not next week. Maybe at an event in October?
