    i personally use the same decathlon set. very bang for the buck. beats riding without any rain protection and you stay relatively dry. just a note, i fold in the hood into the raincoat when i wear it so that it stops the rainwater from coming in the top and also so that it doesnt flap in the wind. very ok!

    The day I got my license it was raining but I couldn't wait anymore. Luckily I had a Decatlon rain poncho laying around I used for my bicycle (was under €20) and was completely fine after riding 2 hours. I didn't have rain pants so my pants were wet but my upper body was completely fine

    1. Should do a water holding test to see if the raincoat will leak at the seam portion. Thats the most common issue we will face after use.
    2. And maybe a follow up of long term use. If more expensive last longer then the cheaper one.
    3. Test riding glove next? Or sliders / crash bar

    The steam one, isn't it like the Goretex material or something, where it is breathable and waterproof, but it only do one at a time. If it is dry, it let steam go through. But once it touch water, it sealed up to be waterproof, but also mean no air go through?

    If you have the budget, go for the expensive one. But if you don't, just the cheap one. just to make you dry in the rain. And avoid going for 90-120 on a rainy day. It's dangerous as the road is slippery. Ride safe always.

    I'm using RS-Tachi for the second time, quite durable during long storage.
    To my surprise was that under the maintenance guide, if waterproofing compromised after some use. Owner can place a piece of cloth over it and apply warm iron on the spot.

    i was hoping you guys would touch on durability or how long it can last before the waterproof lining starts to break. i think that can justify the expensive price tag. waterproofing alone is not enough. i think we can all agree that the common raincoats we use for daily riding (e.g. ~50-90$ range) seem to always break down and spoil faster than expected. and in a country like singapore where it rains quite alot and rather unexpectedly, durability of the material is very important.

    I use the Decathlon set too $10 for the top + small towels to cover the zip part, pants come with shoe cover from decathlon not sure how much. My shoes get wet if its raining heavily "storm"

  • @freakyjos
    @freakyjos Před 2 lety +2

    so far my experience with raincoats is that the pants are too short and hikes up when i sit on my bike. so even with wearing waterproof boots i will still get wet socks. anyone have recommendations for long rain pants for tall people?

    • @tri333ple
      @tri333ple  Před 2 lety

      Either you wear a high cut waterproof boots or be like Amos, he wears the shoe condom 😄

    i got one really old secondhand motowolf raincoat which leaks at the seams everywhere and also the pants is leaking at the crotch area and i also have the decathlon top. I just double layer the motowolf then the decat over and then i use a big plastic bag and tuck it in my pants waistband to cover my crotch. works like a charm i only just get a slightly damp ass after a really heavy rain gg abt 70-90 on average

      But to be honest, the rain pants I love the most was the icon pdx2. zips on the inner thigh, goes all the way up past the knee. so even tall boots are a no issue. Suspenders so you know the pants wont sag down. But cant say the same for the jacket.. So sad cant get that pants anymore..

    The decathlon raincoat. I used it as a emergency raincoat... And also i will wear it over my riding jacket when rain... When u wear it over the riding jacket... Wont feel so painful when rain... The only thing that annoy me about the decathlon one... It flutters in the wind and can hear the noise in the helmet

    Honestly the decathlon one is quite bad. When riding in moderate to heavy rain water will seep in through the zip area even if you zip up all the way and it’s also a hassle to have to remove your helmet just to put on the rain coat.

    Decathlon one is not waterproof, rain goes trough chest zipper and trough right pocket.
