Fenugreek is my favourite! My hair is tailbone length because of it. I soak the seeds in water with cloves and rosemary for a week at the least (until the water gets thick, almost like aloe gel). I use this water to moisturise my hair once a week between washes. Try it!
That’s very cool! I will have to try it!
Do you, while soaking leave it in the fridge?
Brilliant, thank you!
Can fenugreek be used as a oil because I used Amla in my shampoo just experimenting and I had to big chop I had some aloe powder and Amla powder and I didn’t like it I gave all of it away I had big bags 😮
How long does it keep? Do you put it in the refrigerator?
Thank you. Right to the point.
I just Made a DiY fenugreek Snoothie today ! Fenugreek is both slick and can be drying but the key is balancing the mixture . Shea helped me .
I did used it the whole thing and turned out stiff. I did not know why until I watched with your video! Thank you for sharing it. Definitely starting new with your recipe tomorrow!
I use it as a leave in and my hair loves it! My hair has gotten thicker and longer since using it as a leave in.
That's the magic right there! So happy you've gotten great results.
How do you make it a leave in?
@@lellonawanzi3811 boil amount of water make tea with it and you can add other stuff like rose Mary or gloves if you want, when is done add a few drop of essential oil like tea tree, peppermint eucalyptus , put it on a spray bottle , spray your hair as many time as you want, put it the fridge it can stay for 2 week no need preservative
@@lellonawanzi3811 i actually soak the seeds. Grind them up and the use a milk nut bag to strain it. I then add my Ayurvedic oil to it.
Short and to the point, great video!
Great information. Thanks 😀
Same i also use thin strained out liquid of gel like consistency. I use it as natural hair wash, conditioner and anti hairfall treatment. I love this ❤️
So happy to see a video from. you. I make fenugreek oil. If I make the paste I add it to a carrier product and either hit the scalp of my ends. I don 't coat my hair in it. Great information.
So helpful and straight to the point! Thank you love 💕 checking out the next video you recommended xxx
Very good information, glad I came here. Very little goes a long way with constant use.
Thank you sharing this information.
Appreciation and Gratitude.
Add curd to the paste (before straining), use less fenugreek (same as you recommended). Also it’s a usual practice in my country to add twice the amount of Pre-soaked mung bean to the mix before grinding.
Basically less fenugreek, more curd/mung bean seeds.
Thank you, ive found this very valuable.
Thank u luv for this info
i am so glade i came across this video. i have always wondered why my hair became so hard and dry after using fenugreek paste. I was about to give away my fenugreek paste becoz i thought maybe its not for me. Now i know how to really use it to get the benefits. Thank u for the infor. you have just saved my hair.
Very informative, thank you.
I love using fenugreek, after some trials I use fenugreek gel in my DIY, just 80gr
What people don’t know is that fenugreek is exactly the same as a protein treatment which is not all hair (protein sensitive) can tolerate which in return can make the hair stiff and hard even cause hair damage, it’s great for hair, but high in protein content.
Low porosity hair doesn’t need protein much as once a month is more than enough..
It’s no different from it and rice water, hibiscus, cloves, eggs, mayonnaise etc.. We should use them with cautious specially for low porosity, I did big chop twice because of protein overload it was so severe which I didn’t know much about low porosity hair and I continued using rice water and other protein sources without knowing it was the same thing breaking my hair and making it stiff, dry etc… I know better now
Same! I RUINED my hair with rice water. I didn't know what low porosity hair even was and I'd never even heard of protein overload! Crazy that more people don't talk about this stuff! I ruined my hair all the way to the root after working hard to grow it out. Two years down the drain but at least I learned a valuable lesson. I don't touch protein now. I was gonna try fenugreek but honestly my hair is fine right now, maybe i should leave well enough alone
This comment is good. I hope everybody sees it. 🙏🏾
@sihamal8061 Thank you❤❤❤! My hair is low porosity, and after reading your post, use the mask once a month to avoid hair damage.
Thank you so much for your advice it has been very helpful
Thanks a lot for this clear explanation.
Hugs from Mozambique
Thanks for the information 👍. I think you save me a lot of trouble.
Since using your different recipes, my scalp is healing, and my hair has grown about 2 inches in 6 weeks ,thank you and the way they are not drying for my delicate hair these days thank you so much.
That's wonderful to hear!
Mix it with coconut oil (aloe and amla if you want) and use as a prepoo
I've never used it as a mask on it's own. I usually add it to my masque and it really does make a difference. Love your recipe, thank you.
Yes my beautiful sister 😍 ❤ thanks
The best thing I have learned so far about using fenugreek is to use a cheesecloth. Once you use a cheesecloth it has the consistency of conditioner.
Thank u so much..I did not know these facts before
Super helpful
Great information! I love your fenugreek paste recipe and use it every time I condition my hair. It’s stopped my excessive shedding due to hormonal imbalance and has helped to clump my curls and tame the frizz.
Yay! Fenugreek is so so wonderful
This is great information, thank you so much for sharing this!
You are so welcome!
That is exactly what I am doing right now . I take less and I add more water. In that way I am able to save more for next time and it is easier to take it out
Good & helpful video
My hair enjoy fenugreek paste with other Ayurvedic powders blended together. I cowash afterwards and Voila my hair looks 👍 great
Nice video.
Like you said, I had a positive reaction to it. Also I like the coating. I like to mix it with brahmi.
That's a combination I have not tried yet. Thanks for sharing!
I totally agree with you, I realize that it extremely thick
Hello! Thank you very much . I soak in water, 1 tablespoon of fenugreek seeds with a whole leaf of fresh aloe vera.. including the green peel...witch i cut first in little peaces and i leave it overnight. The next day i blend all the ingredients togetger ,until i get a foamy smooth past ,then i strain it and i use it as conditioner and as a leave in conditioner witch buy the way is perfect!! I totally recommended!
@TheDay HeMadeHappy new year ❤ i keep it in the refrigerator, in a glass jar for a week and I use a small quantity every day, to refresh my curls! My scalp is really clean because i also use it ,as a deep conditioner and, because I soak it overnight ,it becomes fermented! Glory be to God!
So many herbs we use could make hair stiff and dry. We should just listen to our hair at the moment and do what it takes to keep the balance. I know this but again went a little over board with herbs without balancing moisture and elasticity. These ingredients are wonderful to have in our arsenal
I completely agree!
So true. We all get excited over growth but don't really balance or slow down the process. I used hibiscus powder with my conditioner and oil and I think I added too much and it turned out a bit clumpy, similar to the picture. Mixed and smoothed as much as I could but Washing was a bit of a hassle lol. I added aloe vera gel next time dunno if I can be consistent with all these herbs so I just drink them as teas for now lol
Great video, tysm for sharing
You are so welcome, thanks for the visit.
This was very insightful. Thanks so much!
Glad it was helpful!
Thank you so much for explaining! Your cat is beautiful
Thank you! 😊
Use the pace of the soak seeds and applied to your scalp only and wash it
I have your hair type but much thinner. I had a lot of hair loss from telogen effluvium from stress. I made fenugreek leave in just by soaking it in water then I leave it in my hair. But I only do it once a month. Thanks for sharing😊
Me too what do u do to make it stop falling it's really exhausting
Please, how do you deal with the smell... Especially as a leave in?
Fenugreek paste penetrates and smooths my low porosity, 3B hair. The first time I tried it the wash out was difficult because it's grainy and tends to bind, so I moved to grinding 2 tablespoons of seeds ( you don't need much because it expands), adding warm water gradually as it expands, and then I blending the mixture on high to get it as smooth as possible; then I apply to detangled sectioned hair, braid or twist those sections during the application (overnight), and then rinsing those individual sections to avoid a tangled mess for next level results.
Thats the reason my hair was still falling after using the paste
I understand now .....from now on i will use in a little quantity
I’ve added fenugreek tea to my regime and I’m noticing brittleness and dryness immeadiately after do you have a suggestion to combat that? I really only put a small like a quarter tea spoon amount of fenugreek powder to about 8 oz of water
thank you :) i will be incorporating Fenugreek into my hair regime
Thank you so much for this video!!! I have tried fenugreek more than once and it always left my hair feeling not just stiff but hard. This caused me to stop using it completely. I will try using it again because I’m armed with the answer I’ve been looking for!
So glad this gave you some insight! I hope fenugreek works out better for you. Good luck! 🍀

ummm just a bit curious.... its been 10 months to your comment so did u see the resultss????
I love fenugreek, I make a tea. I just love teas, they're easy!!! Then no need to worry about trying to get it out of my curls. I honestly can't remember the last time a made a fenugreek mask. I also use it in my diy hair oil, that I use every other day.
Teas are amazing!!! so easy :)
I make a tea with rosemary and clove and spray it on my scalp and hair.
@@darriahlazard I have yet to try cloves. I just remember growing up and it felt like every holiday we had ham there were cloves in it. As a kid I could not stand the smell of cloves so I didn't eat the ham 😆 . But now I recently bought so I could try to add them to my hair growth regimen. My hair oil has a a variety of ayurverdic herbs from henna to ashwagandha.
I grow rosemary I like to also cook with it. Honestly I try to grow what ever I can so that I can guarantee that it's organic.
@@freda4882 lol! Yes def reminds me of holiday ham but it smells so good on the hair and it really jacks up the growth rate. Try it out! I’m like you in the sense that I love using anything organic. I wish I would have found out about Ayurveda years ago but now that I’m here I’ll never go back. I even have my hubby on the same routine 😁
@@darriahlazard I'm pretty new to ayurverdia. I found it in 2019 and haven't looked back since Okaaay. It was curlyproverbz that brought me to the light 😆. Check her out if u haven't already. Curly chemistry is the ish too. She keeps it 💯 with the knowledge backed by science.
Never thought to use it in paste form. I always make a Aloe Vera juice and fenugreek seed gel, by letting the seeds soak in the aloe juice for at least 2-3weeks at room temperature. It’s amazing. I even combined that mixture with okra gel that I freshly make. It has tons of slip and does amazing with detangling my type 4 hair. The fenugreek and aloe gel can last a long time outside of the refrigerator. I have been using this stuff for the past 2.5 years. This year I will start adding the fenugreek to my smoothies.
thanks for sharing I will try this😊I only soak it in water but Aloe is a good idea
Your hair is beautiful.
I used curry leaves, ginger and mint as a hair tonic....it really does work....i use fenugreek and black seed in a similar way
What do you do with those ingredients?

Hi im new to channel and really enjoying your content
What about its smell, it has a strong smell, how do you get rid of it
I've been mixing with my shampoo. Is that bad?
You need to add aloe Vera powder also because it help to add moisture and do you do a deep conditioner after the mask? Fenugreek also has protein
If you filter the fenugreek paste before using it absorbs better and comes right of when you wash it but a lot of people do not that’s why it becomes a nightmare when trying to wash it out. Great video by the way excellent tips
Please share how you filter it, I’d love to know 🙂
Muslin cloth or nut bag
I love how the main topic started at very first second I clicked the video
I make fenugreek water instead ❤
I add it to my henna glosses and all deep conditioners and it's helping me a lot. My hair has grown thick
Great way to use it!
Wow, thanks for sharing this. I had no idea it coated the hair like this
Glad I could help!
What about oil farm?
Does fenugreek powder expire
it seems that people don't pay attention and follow directions, I use a very small amount once a week on my scalp in hair and wash it out with a light moisturizing shampoo, and then I condition normally I've never had a problem
summary: use less, but more often
I have tried to use the stuff and I think I can’t use it & I think I can’t use Amla either
It's about balance than you your hair looks. So healthy and beautiful
It have to strained over a pantyhose, nappy r cheese cloth and it won't leave any particles or hard to wash out
Sis so how many times should I use it in a week
Yup cloves, fenugreek, aloe, flaxseed, coconut milk, coconut oil...all those I have to use in very small amounts...
All very powerful ingredients! Sometimes less is more
@@VyalaBloom certainly
I make a brownie with hibiscus, fenugreek and aloe Vera and just add to my DC every two weeks
that sounds so nourishing!
Yup
Do you recommend using fenugreek the same way or differently for protein sensitive hair?
yes, I recommend trying it this way!
Okay umm I'm sold. I tend to be prone to scalp inflammation and I'm OVER it. I also reeeally love the before and after texture shots of your hair. Where can I find some of this magical Fenugreek?
Look for methi seeds at Indian shops
If you can’t find an Indian shop near by, just get them from amazon.
check the spice section of any local grocery store even Walmart
Neem is best for inflammation. You can make a scalp paste and apply it like a relaxer or do a tea rinse. 30 min-1 hr. It’s great for cystic acne, mosquito bites and eczema as well. And no, the powder doesn’t smell like the oil.
@@denyshadials5702 Thanks so much I will try it💗
Blimey she is pretty
My hair is too silky so I don’t use conditioner or hair mask bc it all makes it flatter. I’m trying to stop shedding and promote hair growth along with some thickness. Do you recommend putting a bit directly on your scalp for 30 min then rinse? Or do you have another option for my thin limp shedding hair?
How can i get silky hair
Um hi and thanks for the video. Does freezing or refrigerating diy hair products reduce it's potency 🥺
Not at all!
So what I do is I will soak my fenugreek seeds in water overnight drain that put it in a blender with coconut milk cayenne pepper put it in ice cube trays put it in the freezer and when I'm ready for a hair mask I take one ice cube out let it defrost and then use the treatment.
Protein overload
Gteat stuff. Thank you for the video. A new subbie here You are so lovely btw😊
Vyala, when you rinse out your mask, do you follow with a shampoo also? I did this and it washed away most of the silky feeling but I was worried about the build up. My mask was fenugreek with hibiscus, brahmi, etc. So I just used a small amount.
In general I try not to for the very reason you state - washing out all the silky feelings! So, I usually follow up with a conditioner or co-wash to gently remove the excess and that's usually enough. Hope this helps
@@VyalaBloom Hi Vyala, I'm new to all this... should you wash your hair first, then add FG mask? Also, i have FG powder and Aloe Vera powder, is this combo ok to use with water and rosemary oli?
Yes I agree with you information but I want to tell you something that stain the paste so the paste becomes smooth and then add one whole egg and some alovera gel and then comb your hair properly and then apply these mask from roots to the end and leave it for 1-2 hour and wash it
Your hair become smooth shiny and thick.
Thanks for the tip!
When should someone do a Ayurvedic hair mask Vs a regular deep conditioner? I plan to do more Ayurvedic treatments like henna once a month or every other month. But I’m not sure how often to do the other mask
My advice would be to use straight henna mask atleast once every six or 8 weeks and not every month as it can be drying on the hair, I found that out the hard way
What mic are you using?
I just added my gear, including microphone, into the description box :)
The paste gets stuck in your hair and it’s a pain to get it out. I had to do a ACV rinse and a clarifying shampoo to get rid of the yellow flakes. I would recommend doing a fenugreek water rinse if you have natural hair.
does the paste rinse out easily, does it get stuck in strands?
If your paste is strained and smooth it rinses out more easily than if it were still grainy. Never apply paste to your hair if it is not smooth!
You can actually use fenugreek mask x2 a week. You just have to know how to do it properly.
My hair is shedding like crazy. Even new growth hair is falling off. No medicines worked for me. Please help.
I was just told yesterday to use it on my scalp for psoriasis because I have to repeatedly shave my head.
Psoriasis are inflammation & open sores on my scalp.
Since I have no hair I'm wondering if this would be good for me. If anyone has any information I would love to know because I've been shaving my head for 3 years now and I would like to grow my hair back.
after going natural, I developed mild sores n all shampoos made the scabs weep every time so there was no healing. Only black soap helped. I wouldn't recommend most of these ayurvedic powders that people promote - they made my scalp extremely dry, am still recovering one year later. However, fenugreek and cloves dissolved in water and used as a spray have been good to my scalp
Have you tried aloe?
@@onehamm4462
I have tried drinking the juice and I have tried drinking the aloe gel but not consistently. I have used sea moss and I'm picking up some aloe vera gel today. I didn't notice a difference when I did use it but I only used it for a few weeks
@@pamelapadath6308 I would get the plant and work with that. It has more nutrients than the bottle.

Makes sense...Thank you, I will ❣️
❤❤
I'm experienced moisture 1 time and then severe dryness another time 🤷🏾♀️. I'm choosing to use it a mist now - can't go wrong with that.
Are you not supposed to deep condition after using it as a mask because it is a treatment right?
You are right, there’s no need to deep condition afterwards.
You look very beautiful
The best way to use fenugreek without leaving it in, is straining it using a cheesecloth or pantyhose.
Yes, straining it helps tremendously!
Fenugreek seed paste just leaves a coating on hair and skin which leaves a smooth feeling
That smooth feeling should not be so quick
Aquarius?
I feel that using a little bit of any aryuvedic herbs is best. Henna and amla are my herbs of choice. I mix them with my moisturizing deep conditioners. Game changer.
Exactly, if these herbs really are as powerful as they’re known to be, then people need to treat them as such.
How do you use henna and Amla in your condition?
@@user-ik3ji3zr8u I make Henna and Amla gloss bars. You can find lots of recipes on CZcams. I melt the bar and mix it with any moisturizing deep conditioner that I have on hand. Then I apply it to shampooed hair. Leave it on for an hour then rinse and use a rinse out conditioner to make sure all of the powders are rinsed away. Then style as usual. I hope this helps.
@@user-ik3ji3zr8u
One way is to simply take a spoonful of each powder and stir them into a few scoops of conditioner.
Another way is to hydrate the powders with warm water to a thick consistency and then add it ti the conditioner conditioner.
My personal favorite, is to make a tea from the powders and add some to the deep conditioner and use a couple drops of preservative if I’ve made a big batch. I like using this on protective styles to avoid that leftover powdery residue.
@@denyshadials5702 how much time do you keep it in your hair since conditioners are not supposed to be kept for long in hair.... moreover do you use it on scalp as well since again conditioners aren't for scalpp so m a bit confused
Which one is better, fenugreek seeds or the powder?
Both are great! It’s a matter of personal preference really. I prefer whole seeds as I feel like they last longer in storage, they’re versatile, and honestly they’re just more fun to use.
My biggest issue with powder is that it’s rarely fine enough to be able to just add some water and have a smooth paste immediately. And so you still need to go through a similar process making fenugreek paste as you would with whole seeds (recipe for this is in the description box). You may get a more potent fenugreek tea using the powder (though I have not tried this).
