  • If you are interested in texturing ceilings and walls with comb tools, this video actually contains essential tips.
    Here are some chopped bits from one of my DVD creations I put it together & published it as some of the information shown is useful to someone beginning the art of texturing with comb tools.
    I must admit this is not my regular cameraman filming step by step tutorials showing you how to create beautiful hand textured 3d patterns onto ceilings & walls, but this guy's sacked now, and the videos step by step for creating this artexing style (mudding) half FAN & SHELL, instructional comb pattern onto ceilings, will have to wait for another day.
    Creating the fan & shell style pattern, or design, onto your ceiling, or walls, is made using a standard 10" comb tool.
    As you will notice, when you observe your ceiling, from the focal point of the room (the door entrance area) the idea is to give the impression of a set of fans, and a set of shells, to run DIAGONAL, down the ceiling. Watch to see how this pattern is set out.
    For any comb pattern, that you want to 'run in uniformed & straight rows' across your ceiling or wall, it is vital that you set up the very first 2 rows, of comb pattern, correctly. This ensures the pattern will look uniformed once completed.
    Thank you for watching

    Just curious, about how much do you charge to do a room that size with a pattern like that?

    • @Artexing
      @Artexing  Před 10 lety

      It depends on how to price a ceiling for combing patterns, there are many factors to take into consideration. If you could elaborate on your question more, I may be able to help, Curt

    • @curtshaw8150
      @curtshaw8150 Před 10 lety

      I don't know how to elaborate any more than I did... That size room. That pattern.

    • @Artexing
      @Artexing  Před 10 lety

      Curt, is this for me to price a texturing job, for you? Or is it because you have to price a ceiling for someone? Let me know Curt, and which country you are enquiring from, and I will try to help further

    • @curtshaw8150

      I wanted to know hoe much you charge. I dont know anyone around Ohio, (USA) that does work like that. I bought a house with some amazing designs on the ceiling but in small sections in some of the rooms, the work was damaged. I was wondering how much it costs to have something like this done because I have 1 other house that I would like to have done.

    • @Artexing
      @Artexing  Před 10 lety

      Hey Curt I'm living in the UK. But I know of some good texture practitioners who have purchased comb tools and step by step tutorials and who live in the US. You could always post a thread on drywalltalk.com or houserepairtalk.com and enquire about 'COMB PATTERNS' for ceilings & walls. Hope this helps, Curt please let me know

    U R Good, but I am an electrician and work on some houses like this with budgets and people don't go to this kind of trouble to make houses look this good. The reason I'm watching is because work is slow and my B/I/L wants me to stomp some ceilings for him. Jusy a round bristle brush will do though. I may try this on my own house. It's pretty.

      Ah, now it's making sense. Yes I shot the cameraman because apparently according to one viewer, all drywall dudes look like serial killers? ( Just go check out my other comments.) But that's just the beer talking. Thanks again for commenting, Regina Folen. Have a great day
