I doubt Carlin is overrated when most people outside of the fanbase flock towards Ringo Starr's narrations, not Carlin's, most outside of the fanbase in the US remember Ringo as the narrator, not the other way around. It's simply that newer releases in the US rely on Carlin's narration. In fact, in every video where a user gets on a soapbox, Ringo is deemed superior. You can't be overrated if you lose the nostalgia goggles contest.

It's because Tragic Railroad made him more depressed than stock investors in 1929. I fully believe he would have if D&D appeared in S5. All his S6 voices sound the same and dry. It's really too bad since I love his voice in this series, especially for Sir Toppham Hatt

I think that in terms of season 5, both narrators are equally good. Angelis’ narration is amazing, and Baldwins voices are stellar. Season 6 goes to Angelis though, no contest.

Another example At the end of Rusty and the Boulder, when Sir Topham Hatt says "We should have left this part of the island alone." Michael says it in a way that sounds like he's saying "I told you so! I tried to tell you we should have left this part alone, but you didn't listen to me!"
I don’t agree at all. MA says the line in a wistful, reflective tone that says, mistakes were made, lesson learnt. AB’s Fat Controller voice is too gruff imo and makes it sounds like he’s angry with someone here
For season 5&6 I grew up with Alec Baldwin’s Narration so I prefer Baldwin’s narration there’s so many times I laughed so hard like when bill and we’re arguing it’s mine it’s not🤣

Alec Baldwin is great of doing these characters in Season 5: -Henry - Gordon - James - Duncan - Toad - Oliver - Sir Topham Hatt - Lady Hatt - Miss Kinsley - Toby's Driver in Toby and the Flood - Cranky But he lost all of his voice acting except for: - Screaming voices - Salty - Mavis - Harvey and I like Michael Angelis in Season 6 and he even get Donald and Douglas voices perfectly just like George Carlin. So I like both: Baldwin in Season 5, Angelis in Season 6.

Angelis was good in Season 3 and 4, but around Season 5 he just died inside, and it becomes very apparent around Season 7/8, and the staff just kept him around year after year until King of the Railway, even though it's so obvious he probably wanted to do something else. The same thing happened to Baldwin after Magic Railroad, which just sucks.

Both were good for different reasons. I’ve always liked Angelis’s James voice, but I like how Baldwin puts more emphasis on The Fat Controller’s voice and the sterner/more dramatic situations. I don’t like Baldwin’s Stepney voice - it straight away made me think of Dick Van Dyke in ‘Mary Poppins’; but I do like voices for Bill, Ben, and Elizabeth.
Me personally i cant stand most of the uk narrators. ESPECIALLY Ringo Starr. they just don't give any enthusiasm, or personalty to the characters. just boring to watch

In my opinion, the British dub will always be better, but of course I did grow up with Starr and Angelis.
For me, I grew up with the US dub, but saying that, I prefer the UK dub for every season other than S5-6.

S6 Baldwin was garbage but S5 was amazing. If i had to rank thomas narrators itd be Ringo Starr > George Carlin > S5 Alec Baldwin > Michael Angelis > Michael Brandon > S6 Alec Baldwin.
For me: S5 Baldwin > Starr > S3-6 Angelis > Brosnan > S3 Carlin > Brandon > S1-2,4 Carlin > S7-16 Angelis.
Here's how it would go for me: S3-4 Carlin > S5 Baldwin > Starr > S1-2 Carlin > Moraghan > Brosnan > S5-6 Angelis > Brandon > S6 Baldwin > S3-4, 7-16 Angelis

@@PabloAndresColomaMadornes2006 but that was how the show was written. It was a British show and we are more sarcastic on average than much of the US. He read the lines how they were intended to. The US dubs, particularly AB put emphasis on the wrong words or syllables, ruining the impact of lines. Undoubtably MA was superior

Yeah sorry Baldwin fans but Angelis is still the best hands down.
Both were good for different reasons. I’ve always liked Angelis’s James voice, but I like how Baldwin puts more emphasis on The Fat Controller’s voice and the sterner/more dramatic situations.
I don’t like Baldwin’s Stepney voice - it straight away made me think of Dick Van Dyke in ‘Mary Poppins’; but I do like voices for Bill, Ben, and Elizabeth.

Me personally i cant stand most of the uk narrators. ESPECIALLY Ringo Starr. they just don't give any enthusiasm, or personalty to the characters. just boring to watch

@@saadahmad913 Well Thomas is narrated by the narrators. So if it is Ringo Star for example then yes. But if it is a America narrator then i'm okay with it.

OMG Baldwin's voice sucks! How is he better? I mean, yeah he does put effort into some of the voices, but it's still mostly annoying! In fact, his voice for the bride was the best, and that's not saying much.
