There is no feeling better then to be 1000 of miles away from Canada and picking up a satellite feed of hockey night in Canada and listening to Mr Cole calling the game of my beloved maple leafs… he was the absolute best ever! A Canadian legend! The Pride of Newfoundland!
he was and always will be Canada's Golden Voice...they game wasn't the same with out him and never will be for the generations he represented ...his voice was the center of my family as a child, adult and he will be missed. He was in many ways our Santa Clause of Canadian Hockey and the establishment of the sport internationally. We will miss you Sir...R.I.P.
He was an icon. For those of us who played street hockey whenever we could, it was Bob Cole’s voice we heard in our head as we scored the Cup winner! Thank you Bob for helping me fall in love with the great sport of hockey. RIP 🙏❤️
I hope the Leafs honour Bob on Saturday night. Many of us were kids when we first heard Bob Cole and for me, today at 51.... he was there for decades. RIP Bob, you were the best.
The reason why I watched Hockey Night in Canada along with Don Cherry. I'm so lucky that we get the channel here in Michigan. The best play by play hockey announcer in Canada to ever do it.
He was the voice of Hockey, the voice of "Hockey night in Canada". We will miss him dearly. "Oh! Baby", his trademark as I remember his commentary on one of Mario Lemieux '.goals during the 1991 Stanley cup final. I may be living away from Canada but I am in tears. I wish my sincere condolences to his immediate family . We will never forget you Mr Cole. Th
Despite being a Brit who has only watched a miniscule amount of Hockey Night In Canada whenever I can, I do acknowledge Bob Cole's many contributions to sports broadcasting. Even I knew that something special happened whenever I heard those magic words "ohhhhhh baby!!!" Like Frank Gifford and John Madden for NFL, Keith Jackson for college football, Ken Wolstenholme and John Motson for association football, Bill McLaren for rugby football, Richie Benaud for cricket, Mel Allen for baseball and Peter Alliss for golf, Mr Cole will always be synonymous with describing the game of hockey with the right words at the right time, like Foster Hewitt and Danny Gallivan.
As an American growing up in Northern Michigan, we could get Hockey Night in Canada over the antenna. Bob Cole will always be to me, the greatest hockey announcer who ever lived....ever better than Foster Hewitt. American fans who somehow think Mike Emrick was a great announcer have no clue........Bob was the best. Rest in Peace.
My favorite moment of Mr..Cole's the famous exhibition game between the Flyers and the Soviet Red Army when the Soviets nearly quit: "They're Going Home! 😲They're Going home. 😠" Thank you for the memories Mr. Cole you will be missed. 😢
The current announcers are terrible. Bob Cole knew the action is on the ice, not the stat sheet. There may never be another actual play by play announcer again. I hate the stat chat and biographical tid bits during the play.
I bow down to You Mr.Cole,You made hockey so exciting to watch.Hockey has not been the same to watch since He retired.Another Canadian icon gone but never ever forgotten. So many iconic games and calls,RIP My friend.
listening to some of his calls still provoke many chills down my spine and lots of tears at his passing. thank you for all the memorable saturday nights, mr cole. rest easy.

For once, I'm not going to knock Bettmans words. Bob Cole is a national treasure!
The sweetest voices I have ever heard:
1. My Grandmother’s
2. Bob Cole
He was a gem to the entire hockey world.
Canada was spoiled.
Your voice to many was our Saturday night. Thanks Mr. Cole.
Mr. Saturday Night. There will never be another like him. We lost a real beauty.
I thank you Mr. COLE for the core memories of watching Hockey Night in Canada from the 70's, 80's, 90's and on, we all thank you. RIP
Another legend of Canada and who we were, a ghost now. RIP sir.

As an American growing up in metro Detroit, hockey night and Canada on CBC was a part of my childhood. Bob Cole was the best.

An absolute thrill to listen to.
Losing Bob Cole and Al Shaver two days apart... sad week.😢
I can still hear his voice in my head after Gilmour and Stumpy scored there playoff OT goals for the Leafs!! Moments I'll never forget!!
93 playoffs are legendary, Leafs/STL Game1, "Gilmour waiting, waiting, around the net....."

Bring the cup home for bob
didn't Foster Hewitt call the Summit Series in Moscow?
just asking.
Mr. Cole did the radio broadcast. Mr. Hewitt did the tv.
Unless he was part of the whole broadcast team, Hewitt and Brian Conacher did play by play and colour
@@NatoBro czcams.com/video/x1LKjFVjFCU/video.html Bob Coles radio play by play of the summit series.
The best. SAd news.
