    Building out any van is very hard if you wanna do it the right way and make it look awesome! Especially a passenger van with nooks and crannies and grooves and windows to work around! It’s looking awesome and thanks for the tips that helped me complete my build!

    Great video. Good tutorial on scribing panels. Wish I could have seen this before starting my build, it probably would have came out better. But one thing I did learn from my build, the blemishes in your build will not decrease the enjoyment of your travels in your van one little bit. Have fun with it.

    • @ImChrisDeDecker
      @ImChrisDeDecker  Před 2 lety +1

      That is exactly what I am thinking. I will still truly enjoy the adventures no way around it. I could have Scribd and made the scribe a bit better. But that is for future Chris

    Never hesitate to call whenever you're thinking about doing anything woodworking related BEFORE you start, man... :)
    I'll call you in a bit, I'm about to install a bidet (NOT in the van - I wish)

    riv-nuts were a nice touch and sturdy. you have me curious about DIY steam bending but, thats hell sturdy plywood too likely not practical i might assume

    • @ImChrisDeDecker
      @ImChrisDeDecker  Před 2 lety

      I have seen that done on some woodworking videos I have watched, but that is out of my reach 😂 3/4 scribe cuts would have been the best route imo.

    Use 3m spray glue and cover panel with fabric and foam Matrix . it will cover your mistakes as well

    • @ImChrisDeDecker
      @ImChrisDeDecker  Před 2 lety +1

      Perhaps, I have material and Gorilla spray adhesive for the exposed metal. Im planning to simply stain the wood. I do not think the mistakes will haunt me too much. If it does, I can always go back and cover it.

    jb weld the hole shut? don't weld it shut unless you've learned how to quickly air cool the tachs and some experience welding. you'll warp it. where as JB is a two part expoy. that or some semi regid expoy

    You could have probably got away with just scribe cut the back of the plywood about a 2/3 of the way through the plywood spaced about three inches apart it should have given enough flex to install the panel !
