Savannah has the 1st African Baptist Church, and it was actually part of the underground railroad. The tunnel from the river to the church is still there, and they do tours. You may find that interesting to check out before leaving or when you have a chance to go back through.

Honorary discharged Vets can use majority of military campgrounds. Over the years we used them with my parents either through my mom who worked for DoD, or through my dad who is a AF Veteran. Both were accepted. It's been a few years, but we're planning trips this year and all the ones we called said with my Dad we can go. My Mom passed away 4 years ago so we haven't been since she got sick.

You might want to look into military base camping again. I think that as long as you were honorably discharged and have a disability rating you may be eligible under the Purple Heart and Disabled Veterans Equal Access Act of 2018. Former Navy Vet here, & I wish you luck on your travels ✌🏽

As a veteran, you can get a pass for all of the National Parks - we were just in Charleston and my husband was excited to see Ft. Moultrie - they hooked him up with a pass! Please ensure you're getting enough water so you don't get dehydrated. Traveling and driving can be harsh on the body I've been there and done that. It's fun and new adventures are always great. Take your vitamins, especially b12, and E, D3-K2, and eat high-potassium foods. Kombo is great to put over food that way you'll get all the Omega in. My daughter is 38 I tell her the same all the time so its just the mom in me wanting you to be safe happy and healthy:)

I travel a lot but I do most of mine on a cruise ship I love water and it is peaceful by sitting in a cabin with a balcony watching and watching the weaves and others ships 🚢 sailing by. After this cruise I'm booking one for Alaska I want to see the wildlife around and in the ocean like whales 🐋 and pola bears 🐻❄ as well as the aglacier I been to Jamaica, Canada, Brazil, the Panama, Jerusalem ,Germany. There is a lot of other countries I want to visit before I travel and visit here in the U S. I'm retired I been a traveling nurse for over 25 years I'm 57 years old now I started my nurses career when I was 25 years of age and I retired of the age of 51. So I'm happy my home is paid for so I can come back when I want that's the good thing about 🛳 when ever you want to take a break.. You be safe and stick to your dream. ❤

You might look into yearly passes for state and national parks. They may have a military discount available. I have a senior pass bug of course thats still a long ways away for you. Carolyns RV life has lots of videos fof boondocking and camping resources. And yes, Ryan Hall y'all is the greatest for weather.
Hi Nomie! Another great video 😊. I am a Florida resident so Here is tip number one. Stay away from Interstate 4 between Orlando and Tampa! It is a nightmare! Number two, Get an ePass for tolls. Florida is the state of toll roads grrrrr and you save a little time and change with the ePass. Last Florida has the most beautiful state parks and many have camping for a nominal fee. Safe travels.
It rains a lot in GA. It also snow in GA. I live in SC about two hours away from Atlanta. It is cloudy here today. We are suppose to get rain the weekend. Be Safe
Nomi. If you’re a Moose or Elk you can camp at the lodges!!! Many times it’s free or by donation. Plus good meals ( inexpensive). Each lodge is different w food ( hours , meals, etc) but most offer their property for members to camp !! ( RV etc). Moose is easier to join and yes , you can go to Moose lodges ( Elk too) all over the country!!!!!!

Born and raised in Ga about 40 Min north of Savannah. I remember going to Jekyll island with my mom, and older sister and a niece , where we would get a place right at the water. What fond memories. I was thinking that you would have went into some of the stores on cobblestone and grabbed some of the hot water taffy to taste as it was being made and some of the praline pecans just to name a few. Across the river there my sisters and I would always hop on the boat and spend time on the other side then ride back. I enjoy your travels each and every time you have something to share with us. As the sister of a retired lifer we went to any Base even Andrews and was even admitted to Andrew Hospital. Girl use your benefits

All those stores like Lowe's, Home Depts are great to park and stay overnight. But, it depends on the state and cities they are in..
You might look into yearly passes for state and national parks. They may have a military discount available. I have a senior pass bug of course thats still a long ways away for you. Carolyns RV life has lots of videos fof boondocking and camping resources. And yes, Ryan Hall y'all is the greatest for weather.
Hi Nomie! Another great video 😊. I am a Florida resident so Here is tip number one. Stay away from Interstate 4 between Orlando and Tampa! It is a nightmare! Number two, Get an ePass for tolls. Florida is the state of toll roads grrrrr and you save a little time and change with the ePass. Last Florida has the most beautiful state parks and many have camping for a nominal fee. Safe travels.

It rains a lot in GA. It also snow in GA. I live in SC about two hours away from Atlanta. It is cloudy here today. We are suppose to get rain the weekend. Be Safe
Nomi. If you’re a Moose or Elk you can camp at the lodges!!! Many times it’s free or by donation. Plus good meals ( inexpensive). Each lodge is different w food ( hours , meals, etc) but most offer their property for members to camp !! ( RV etc). Moose is easier to join and yes , you can go to Moose lodges ( Elk too) all over the country!!!!!!

Born and raised in Ga about 40 Min north of Savannah. I remember going to Jekyll island with my mom, and older sister and a niece , where we would get a place right at the water. What fond memories. I was thinking that you would have went into some of the stores on cobblestone and grabbed some of the hot water taffy to taste as it was being made and some of the praline pecans just to name a few. Across the river there my sisters and I would always hop on the boat and spend time on the other side then ride back. I enjoy your travels each and every time you have something to share with us.
