Dont forget, you can also just freeze the smaller bottles of water in your freezer instead of buying ice and that way you can take the frozen water with you on hikes to drink and just replace them in the freezer when needed. Just a thought.
Hi. I have a suggestion. I used to buy magnets and trinkets from every new place that I traveled but then I started buying post cards and writing myself a note about what I did or saw while visiting the new place. I’ve been doing it for a few years now and it’s fun to find the envelope of memories when packing/moving.
Some people can't get bank accounts and credit cards. A grocery store saying they only accept cards is more than an inconvenience. Imagine what the poor, the homeless, and the bankless will have to do as this card only places increase. Imagine not being able to buy food with what little money you have because you can't find a store that accepts cash. I get where that lady is coming from.

Caves= snakes, in mountains bears, etc. Be prepared. If you're exploring one, always keep an eye on the entrance. Animals (inc. humans) can come in behind you and you are trapped. Take water and food with you in case of emergency. Have fun!! 💕

Hey Nomi, When you come to Northern Nevada, you have to see Lake Tahoe, where there is a bike trail around the lake. Safe, beautiful, in nature, unforgettable!!!. And, east of Elko, Lamoille Canyon is an absolute do not miss hike. Go to the top of the mountain!! If I can do it, you can too! It is past beautiful, like Tahoe they are God’s gift to Nevada!!!🌲
Living in AZ, we keep a couple water bottles in the freezer at all times. I can pull one out and it will melt quite quickly. I have nice cold water for a while. The frozen bottles help keep cooler/fridge cold. That way you aren’t wasting space in your fridge with things you can’t use. Enjoying your travels. Thanks for sharing.

They said drink water every so often (pick a time) do NOT wait until you feel thirsty. By then it is too late and you are already starting into dehydration 😮
The dessert plants are beautiful! As a bike rider, I use a camel back for water. You can fill with ice and water. So nice to sip on anytime during a hike or riding. Keeps you hydrated. Also the cool pack on your back feels really nice. Thanks for your videos.
I make bacon fried all the time. My mother is from Okinawa...Okinawans use allot of pork in their dishes. I bet yours was delicious! I grew up in Riverside County California, I did allot of hikes like that in my younger days. I always tell people to check the rocks before sitting, as you never know if snakes are hiding. Nomi, be aware of these red light cameras. If they flag your tag, the ticket comes in the mail. I can relate to the cash customer. Perhaps she could have not wilded out but some of us have had horror stories of identify thefts for just shopping in a store.
I hike/commune with nature every Sunday morning. This time of the year I start at five to beat the heat in AZ. I also walk along the street that winds through the park to avoid anything that bites or stings. And, I always make sure there are others around because I don’t want to be the person everyone talks badly about because they had to be rescued. Stay safe and enjoy adventuring.
Maybe if the problem persists look into a dual sourced fridge that runs off both solar and propane so you can use propane at night. That way your food can stay cool.

Could your refrigerator possibly be part of the problem too? Anything frozen solid shouldn't be completely thawing that quickly especially if the refrigerator isn't being opened. As many issues as you have had recently it wouldn't be a surprise if something is wrong with your frig.

Have you thought about adding extra, or a larger, solar panel? This option may be less expensive than getting lithium batteries for now. Of course, you will have to do an upgrade on your batteries. 😊

Good to begin your hike early. Stay hydrated during those hikes and wear light colored clothing to minimize heat being absorbed.

So True... People pay attention to hurricanes, tornadoes, and floods but for some reason they MISS that HEAT kills more than any of them.
That is so sad. I was in Big Bend in November and almost passed out from dehydration and the heat. There is no shade anywhere there.

Could your refrigerator possibly be part of the problem too? Anything frozen solid shouldn't be completely thawing that quickly especially if the refrigerator isn't being opened. As many issues as you have had recently it wouldn't be a surprise if something is wrong with your frig.

Excellent hike! I used to take my children on hikes there, when they were little. Always a fun time. If you go further into Red Rock, there was a small waterfall, I don’t know if that’s still there. Glad you enjoyed. ✌️

Now, time to be a mother, be careful hiking by yourself and don't take too many risks. Have you thought about adding extra, or a larger, solar panel? This option may be less expensive than getting lithium batteries for now. Of course, you will have to do an upgrade on your batteries. 😊
