Your inner critic's persistence stems from two key reasons:
1. The inner critic is personally attachment to our ego
2. You don’t know how to detach from your ego to reframe your cognition from a different place of reference.
This is where visualisation as a mindset shift to ground yourself in a place of non-limitation can become extremely powerful.
The best way I do this through visualisation is by a method which I call:
“Looking From The Outside In”
Why?
Because this offers me a different reference point then that of my own limited ego.
My ego (like everyone else’s) can burden me with trace memories of trauma and pain that originate from negative subjective experiences from my past (this is why the inner critic exists).
This can make my ego fallible, denying my capacity to willingly embrace the objective pursuit of meaning in my life by planting seeds of doubt and distraction within my own mind.
Therefore, I need to access non-limitation itself.
I need to go to the source of all things.
I need to go to God.
Why?
Because God is the seat of ALL knowledge, perspective and love.
God is everlasting.
This way, I access the properties of God’s perception as a frame of reference for my own guidance:
1. Omniscience (all-knowing)
2. Omnipotence (all-powerful)
3. Omnibenevolence (all-loving).
This way I can purge seeds of self-doubt and self-deception because my will is now informed and aligned with God’s Will and not with that of the past.
Traditionally, this would be found through the practice of prayer (our relational capacity with God)
By doing this I cannot remain stuck and conformed to the fallible nature of doubt that my own ego produces from the pains of earthly sin, my perspective is now informed by the image and reference of God’s love, power and knowledge for His creation.
