That Staffy_TV guy talking a lot of copium. Zidane's second stint at Real Madrid was the start of a rebuild. He got Valverde in the team, and improved Vini along with many other academy players. He reached the semis in the UCL with that squad and also won la Liga in that stint with Messi still playing for Barcelona. Talking big about a manager who managed "Brighton" over a guy who did decently well for the biggest club in the world is atrocious. Zidane even knew that season was not good enough for Madrid's standards and stepped down, and right he was, because we won the double the next year with Carlo. And remember I have not even mentioned his first stint when he did a 3peat. These prem merchants don't watch other leagues and talk crap about the players and managers in those leagues. I guess you're happy with the mediocrity that your club has been for the past 10 years to prefer Graham fucking Potter over Zidane.
In fairness the gravitas around Zidane as a player can't be ignored. These yoots aren't old enough to realise how good he was on the pitch, he really was that good and part of that was his personality. For all the skill he was just as strong mentally, as these kids might say he was on top of being the best technical player on Earth in his generation he was also the ultimate "clutch" player. Some good managers are good because they're football geeks (Wenger, Pep are examples of this and Arteta is in their mold and trying to join them) others are good because of their sheer force of will, Ferguson and Zidane are in this mold.

As an American and a life long baseball fan, the guy talking about the dodgers situation did a very poor job explaining that situation and how it compares. The financial situations between the leagues is massive. There's no ffp in baseball and contracts like that are done often. To do it in soccer, a league that's implementing what is essentially a soft salary cap is just irresponsible.
